Personal Profile
Paul was born and raised in an artistic environment, being the son of a well-respected painter Robert Donald Stokle ARCA.
He started Saturday morning art college from the age of fourteen,
studied at Southport College of Art, then eight years of tuition by his father on the techniques of the masters.
In addition to his marine work, Paul has become greatly influenced by contemporary art. Using his traditonal skills, enquiring mind and fascination for nature, along with a developing quest for simplicity, he has started to embark on a second, more impulsive style to run alongside the first. These works need to be studied to allow them to play on one's imagination in a pure, simple and effective way.
