About KCC Events
The Kingston Chess Club tries to offer a balanced schedule of casual and competitive events. We offer two formal events; a Swiss System fall session event and the Club Championship during the winter session. Both events have been historically rated by the Chess Federation of Canada. In between, we have been known to offer active and blitz events, special evenings such as a simultaneous display given by one of the country's best players, the occasional instructive lecture and of course evenings of casual chess.
Pairing system rules, prize funds and tournament rules are announced prior to the events. The Tournament Director (TD) has the responsibility and authority for running a competition that is both competitive and pleasantly sociable. The information appearing on this page is unoffical. We strive for accuracy but if in doubt, please consult with the event TD.

This event is CFC rated and directed by Brian Murray (email). Please send your bye requests directly to Brian by clicking on the email link. The opening round featured a couple of upsets already. The combination of talented newcomers to the club and hungry Juniors promises that no game in this event can be taken for granted. Good luck to all in Round 2! The pairings follow the X-table below.
Important note: please note that the round two pairings have been adjusted to accomodate some new information. Sorry for the inconvenience, folks!
