Some pics from the last couple of weeks:
18th July
Ragged Robin. First time i have seen this plant at Kingsmill, i'm not sure of its status in Nottinghamshire.
Female Pochard and 4 of 6 young. From the Viewing Platform
Common Terns. Taken shortly after they were displaying to each other. the female (right) seems to have something wrong with her left foot, which she would not put down whilst standing.

Very worn Small Tortoiseshell Set Aside
11th July
Little Owl
Little Owl Lower Oakham Farm (phone-scoped at distance, through a heat haze!) (SD). A nice find whilst exploring some of the outer reaches of the Recording Area.

Finally gotten round to sorting out some photos. There'll be more to come. Enjoy.
4th July
First Tufted Duck chicks.
Six new ducklings taken back the thier nest. A male Pochard resting on the nest quickly shifted when this female appeared. There appear to be at least a couple more to come.

Burnet Moth in Set Aside
Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet
Dead Mole
This dead Mole was in the Set Aside. Most likely died in the heat trying to burrow on hard ground. The first Mole i have ever seen in over 30 years of watching nature.
28th June
First Little Grebe chicks
3 new Little Grebe chicks, South West Corner 1st thing
Views from the Set Aside
Young Grey Heron
This young Grey Heron was practicing fishing in the outflow from the chicken farm in The Hermitage. In three quaters of an hour, it didn't catch a single fish despite several attempts!
