SYNDICATE RULES 2007/2008

A set of rules will be provided to ALL members. If in doubt of any rule please contact Kevin Gilbert, Martin Smith or Jason Smith for clarification.

  • Carp Sacks are to be used for the minimum amount of time especially during warm summer months.
  • Members seen to be putting unnecessary pressure whilst playing fish may loose their tickets without notice.
  • Any signs of distressed or damaged fish are to be reported to Bailiffs and/or Kevin Gilbert without delay.
  • Any member acting in an unsporting manner, inconsiderate manner or any other unacceptable behaviour (for example:- drunk, loud music) may loose their ticket without notice.
  • Alcohol is to be consumed in moderation.
  • Fish safety and welfare must be of paramount importance at all times. All members must use an unhooking mat measuring a minimum of 36"x25" and must be well padded.
  • All members must have with them at all times a recognised bottle of antiseptic treatment.
  • Members must not leave rods unattended if fishing in the vicinity of snags or islands.
  • No fishing passed Snags or Islands.
  • No Nuts of any description.
  • If any member is fishing Bottom Bay then Back Bay cannot be fished on the Muddy and visa versa. If High Bank 1 on the Clear is being fished then the Car Park cannot be fished and visa versa. The exception being if two members are in agreement.
  • Whilst occupying any swim members are not permitted to leave lakes for more than 2 hours without prior consent. Rods must be wound in whilst not attended.
  • All rods must be wound in if you need to go back to your car for whatever reason. Please ensure you have all items in your swim before you cast out.
  • 3 night maximum session and return no less than 24 hours. Longer sessions by appointment from August.
  • No member to be more than 30 yards from his or her swim whilst fishing.
  • 3 rod maximum limit and up to date EA rod licences required by every member.
  • 1 member per swim except for double swims identified on "Map of Lakes" found on website.
  • No firearms, air rifles or fires.
  • Climbing of trees, wading, use of boats and all other activities are undertaken solely at the risk of the individual and the "syndicate" shall not accept any responsibility for any injury or loss however occurred.
  • No unauthorised cutting of trees or branches etc.
  • No fouling in/on the lakes/grounds. Please use the toilets.
  • Members are not permitted on the lakes/grounds during the close season without prior consent except work party dates.
  • Cars are not to be left at the back of swims without prior consent. Once unloaded cars to be returned to the designated car parks.
  • ALL gates to be locked at ALL times.
  • Surroundings and wildlife to be respected at ALL times.
  • Absolutely no litter to be left in/on lakes/grounds including discarded tackle. Litter in any swim is the responsibility of the member fishing that swim whether left by that member or not. Discarded lines and tackle kill wildlife.
  • No fish to be removed.
  • No fish to be introduced.
  • No movement of fish around lakes under any circumstance i.e. to photograph etc.
  • No hammers, mallets or excessive noise.
  • No swimming.
  • Boats to be used solely for the use of un-snagging fish unless prior consent has been given and when used must be returned to the designated areas. Irresponsible or unauthorised use of the boats will not be tolerated and may result in the member's ticket being withdrawn. Please remember that boats are used at member's own risk.
  • Rules are subject to change at any time.
  • No refunds will be made under any circumstance.
  • Tickets are not transferable and no unauthorised guests or visitors permitted without prior consent.
  • Members and guests fish/visit the lakes/grounds entirely at their own risk. The Syndicate accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, incident, loss or damage to persons, tackle/belongings or vehicles under any circumstance.
  • The Syndicate maintains its authority to revoke memberships at its discretion.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN SNAGGED UP BY A FISH SHOULD YOU PULL FOR A BREAK, ANYBODY REPORTED DOING THIS WILL BE BANNED WITHOUT WARNING. Please remember that boats are used at member's own risk. If in doubt phone a bailiff.
  • Remote controlled boats are NOT to be used to take rigs around islands, tight into snags or over other member's lines. (If I hear of any more complaints about bait boats they will be banned for good.) K Gilbert

 

Rigs

  • Mainline braid, Lead core leaders, fixed leads, long shank hooks and bent hooks are NOT TO BE USED.
  • Only the use of non captive rigs i.e. safety rigs permitted. The owner and bailiffs reserve the right to inspect any tackle/rigs at any time.
  • Minimum 10lb mainline.
  • Maximum lead size 3.5ozs.
  • All rig components and leads must be able to pass freely over leader knots.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD BEADS BE GLUED ONTO TUBING/LEADERS.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD LEAD WIRE BE USED TO PIN DOWN TUBING/LEADERS.
  • ALL RIG COMPONENTS TO PULL FREELY APART AND OFF RIGS.
