Welcome to Kingate Cavies. My name is Sue Ford and I have been breeding pet guinea pigs for about 28 years and argentes since 1993. I decided to make up this website to put together all my guinea pig information and photos, and also to add information about my recent breeds and what I wish to breed in the future.
Here is a picture of me with my first guinea pig Munchie taken when I was about 6 years old. He was a lovely pet, a black boar with a gold stripe on his side.
Here is a picture of my second guinea pig taken in 1979. He was a silver chinchilla called Smokey Jo and was a lovely gentle boar.
This is a picture of my first golden/lilac argente called Charlie. I bought him at the Epsom show after falling in love with this unusual colour in 1992.
Future Projects
I am still going to breed and show my golden/lilac argentes and dalmatian pets, but I am mostly now going to concentrate on breeding and showing some silver chinchillas in the "New Varieties" section.
