- 14th July 2005 - Where the hell have we been? I don't know, the rest of the band don't know, the only plausable answer is "around". So yeah a bit has happened in the time we have been absent from the world. Many exams have been taken, hat girls and boys have fallen over, we lost a hat, and a hat member. So yes. Our new drummer if familiar to those with KWFH knowledge, he is Jim Davies, who is also the drummer for Candysniper. We like our men from Candy sniper you know. The hat had a very enjoyable recording session on Saturday at Penny's house and recorded 4 songs which are all uploaded to our myspace page, just for your ears http://www.myspace.com/kimwildesfavouritehat We then got more drunk and had an 18" pizza. It may have been the best practise ever. While we will miss Steve, Jim wears hats well, and turns up to practise/gigs. A new era of hat begins.
9th July 2005
- 26th April 2005 - Hey guys and dolls. We hope we can see you at 80's night down at the Qubar In margate on the 5th May! Its locals bands with an 80's twist, or in the case of the hat - 80's karaoke classics. We have all been really busy, so we've had no time for practise, so its only singing! Be there and be 80's
- 13th April 2005 - We hope everyone had fun at the Qubar, hmm we dont remember much! But it was still good with Jim/Steve getting back from the Candy Sniper tour in time to be drummer boys. I lost those hat pant, but now i found them. So all is right with the world.
- 3rd April 2005 - The good news people is that there is still one pair of Kim Wilde's Favorite hat pants available people! Which will be on sale at the next gig which is at the Qubar in Margate.
- 8th Febuary 2005 - So the hat played, and the hat rocked! Friday was apparently our best ever gig, which is very cool. We had a few problems, mainly arguments that were caused by the depature of steve to go to London, which was a twatastic thing to do 2 hours pre-gig!!! But we called up Jim and he was more than happy to oblige and help us out! We went drunk this time, which also probably helped. The new songs went down really well we think/were told! And the night raised about £400 for the tsunami charity aid, we also sold charity Kim Wildes Favourite Hat underwear for a pound a pair! which proved strangely popular. So Steve is in trouble and the girls rock and Jim was a good boy for standing in. xxx
- 31st January 2005 - Linzi and Merrills' guitars were stolen. It is a very sad day .
- 24th January 2005 - Jem is 20 today! Happy birthday you rock and roll queen of carnage xxx
- 20th January 2005 - We have a gig in about 2 weeks, which we are all really looking forward to! Maddy has left the hat, so far its working with just the Merrill on guitar, but see for yourselves on the 4th Febuary down ye olde lido. We have 2 new songs, Boxes lie and Mother Fuckin' Truckin' to play and we all need some new hats. Its hard finding time to practise at the moment though. Although we did have time to do lunch, Jem has stupid work, Merrill has stupid exams, Linzi has stupid coursework and Steve, well steve is always free, its getting him out of bed thats the hard part. See you 4th Febuary! xxx
- JANUARY - SOMETIME. afternoon. practice day. it will be good. keep on truckin fellas.
- 30th December, Linzi here, just a quick report to say i dont know whats going on with the band, i dont even know whats going on with individual members, including oneself. I know merrill is now in that irish place, all the rest are still indulging in thanet pie. but other than in a physical sense, im drawing a blank. Practice anyone? Anyone?

- 7th November - In recent weeks, the hat have been writing new songs and recording hopefully to be finished in december in time for a possible launch party with candy sniper and static transmission. not alot to report from hatcamp. keep your eyes and ears peeled.
- 25th October - Ahem, we will whole heartedly admit we were too drunk on friday and messed up a fair bit! I would say sorry, but we arent that sorry! We've introduced a new maximum 2 drink pre-set rule for gigs in the future, talking of which the next gig 12th october, be there or be square, and whitness the madness with us and Beauty like a train wreck and Coerce!
- 21st October - Happy Birthday today steve! 27! Don't die you rock star, we have a gig tommorow!
- 20th October - Wellity wellity wellity! The next gig comences in 45 hours! 2 new songs ready for all the lucky people, and Steve is excited about his first gig with the hat too! We've been asked about playing a number of new gigs, but nothing concrete yet. As you should all know the gig is fancy dress, "the hat" are going as pirates, satin eye patches and faux scars ahoy! So remember to set sail to ye olde lido on friday and wear you costume! Be there or be square
- 25th September - "the hat" have a gig coming up on the 22nd of october, our current sources have told us we are headlining which is pretty cool! Practise will be held later today, and the band can discuss the possibility of new songs, and of course talk about what we are wearing to the gig
- 5th September - Alot has happened to "the hat" in the past month or so. The Echoes gig went quite well , despite no Maddy, alothough it really wasnt the same. We trashed the stage and didnt get paid, but it was fun none the less! We have a new drummer, Matt is going to focus on his curly hair and Beauty like a train wreck. Our new drummer is Steve Jedrek, we are having our first practise on monday and we have a gig on Saturday 11th Spetember at the Roundhouse in Canterbury. It is a battle of the bands, so it should be interesting.

9th August - Last night the band had to think about a serious matter. For our next gig Maddy is away in Manchester, so we realised we can have only one guitarist or get a stand in for Maddy while she is away. We chose the later and Jay Springett volunteered to help us out, having apperared in such bands as "kids with guns" and "slingshot around the moon" So practise with Jay will occur soon and hopefully all will go well. But we will dearly miss our Maddy.
7th August - Last night we had the most awesome time! The gig went very well, we had a further 2 practises since the last gig, and we were very happy with how everything went in general, we played the new "song" man from Candy sniper which went down well, and Jim was a good drummer for us even wearing our trademark sunglasses! Candy sniper, Army of Juan and Up C Down C all played very well too, and I'm prety sure we all went home happy. And most of us did because we all got some pizza after the gig, so two thumbs up. Some new pics from the gig are on the pictures page. Can't wait for the 21st August!
-
1st August - The gig went pretty well last night , drunkness considered! There was lots of cheering and clapping, and we thank everyone who came to the gig, not only because we weanted to play, but also to raise money money money for charity! Plus Many other cool bands played last night, including Point Counter Point, The Maple State, and Beauty Like a Train Wreck, so thats all very cool indeedy! We got to the semi-finals in the football, knocked out my a dubious "3rd goal" but we did well considering we only play once a year. So a HUGE FUN SIZE THANK YOU to everyone who helped out, and who was involved! Mark from Plan 9 has also asked us to play on friday (6th August) so we are going to try and write some new material for then, unfortunalely, Matt's other band, Beauty like a train wreck are playing in Westgate that night, so we will have Jim guest drumming for us ! See you there hopefully!
