KIM HODGES - Counselor

"Decisions determine destiny."

JUNIORS ROCK!!!!!!!!!

I knew this class of Juniors would be the one to put Terry High School in the news academically with a National Merit Semi-Finalist.  However, this class may have THREE students with that honor!  JUSTIN BAILEY, GARRETT LEWIS, AND BRIAN SPURLOCK have been invited to compete for this honor based on their outstanding scores on the PSAT given last October.  Over 1.5 million students took this test nationwide and these three guys ranked in the top percentage to possibly be named National Merit Semi-Finalist.  They just have to follow the next few steps to reach this goal.  This is a remarkable acheivement, one that will provide them with an abundance of scholarship opportunities.  Not to mention, this is an honor for Terry High School and Hinds County School District.  Thank you guys for making us look so good!!!

CHOICE SHEETS

I regret to inform you that I will not returning to Terry the remainder of the year.  Unfortunately, I will not be working at Terry next year either.  This was a very sudden and unexepected occurrence.  I realize that many 10th graders had yet met with me.  Most of you are in Ms. Foster's World History classes.  Please know that this will not affect what classes you receive next year.  No schedules are developed until all choices are in the computer.  It is my understanding that the other counselors will be meeting with you to work on your choice sheets.  I have removed the electronic choice sheet as I no longer have a school email to which you can submit it.  I truly apologize for any inconvenience and I regret that I will not be working with you next year.
