Bio


    

 

Kim Wilson Ed.M., is an independent consultant. Ms. Wilson has more than 10 years experience in training and organizational development, marketing, research, and education.

 

Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where she majored in Human Resources. She earned a Master’s in Education in Adult Learning and Organizational Development from Temple University’s College of Education. She is currently completing a doctorate in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware.

 

A passionate educator, Ms. Wilson has been recognized by the Preparatory Charter School Initiative in Philadelphia, for her commitment and service to public education. She was an adjunct professor at Temple University, where she taught Intellectual Heritage for the last four years. Ms. Wilson has taught and developed graduate and undergraduate courses in Interpersonal Dynamics, Dialogue, English Composition, Basic Computer Applications, and English 101 at Temple University, Community College of Philadelphia, Bucks County Community College, and ITT Technical Institute. She has served on a number of Teaching Circles, and was a faculty mentor for the McNair Scholars Program. She has also taught dedicated ESL and distance learning courses.

 

As a consultant, Ms. Wilson has worked with a range of clients in various industries including hospitals, churches, colleges and universities, community organizations, international corporations, and foreign governments. She has created and facilitated over 100 workshops. She has written project grants and has developed faculty training programs to teach active learning.

 

She was the Distance Learning Project Manager for an online financial literacy program. During her brief tenure she increased the visibility of the program through her participation with Philly’s Black Family Technology Awareness Week, the Pennsylvania Service Learning Alliance, where she served on the planning committee for the 2004 Youth Summit on Service Learning and Technology, and her appearance on WURD AM 900. She has working to bridge the digital divide through alliances with organizations in rural Pennsylvania that focus on empowering traditionally disadvantaged groups. She is an active member of Black Data Processing Associates, a national organization that positions its members at the forefront of the IT industry and works to bridge the digital divide.

 

As a student at the University of Delaware, Ms. Wilson has been very active in student organizations. As a graduate student advisor to The Campus Alliance de la Raza she coordinated with Richard Korn to bring the Venezuelan Ambassador to the University in October 2005. Kim is also a member of the Black Graduate Student Association.

 

At 37, Ms. Wilson is the proud mother of three teenagers, ages 15, 17, 18.  She was born in Dominican Republic, and speaks fluent Spanish and Italian. She has lived and studied in Italy. Her passions include practicing yoga, painting, writing poetry and traveling---a lot.
