So, you want to make a Sonic fancharacter?

You're in good company. The Sonic the Hedgehog fandom is full of characters created by fans. But a lot of these characters are little more than recoloured copies of 'official' Sonic characters, albeit with a short backstory and a few extra abilities slapped on. You probably look at this vast well of unoriginality and think 'How can I make MY character stand out?'.

Well, this guide aims to show you exactly how you can make an original character of your very own. A character with a good, informative bio and backstory, original design and a realistic level of power. Sure, Sonic's a game, but some realism has to exist when you make your character. Remember how in Sonic 1 on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive, Sonic was the only animal strong enough to fight Robotnik? If all those overpowered fancharacters were around then, would Sonic have even had to bother? Your character exists in the Sonic universe. It must change to fit the universe, not have the universe change for it.
