Andras Jones                                                                `

He was one of Freddy's victims, he starred in Attic Expeditions and is also has had 9 Albums (which kick ass) in his band "The Previous" He is Andras Jones and I was able to interview him. So sit back, relax, listen to a Previous Cd and enjoy the interview!

Marcus:: So tell me, what does a guy who has been confined to a mental institution that is run by a crazed Jeffrey Combs, been sliced and diced by Freddy Krueger, and been to the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama do in his spare time? Tell us what makes Andras Jones tick :) -

Andras:: I have no spare time OR you could say that my life is made up entirely of spare time. There's always something to do, and I suppose that doing that something is what makes me, as you say, "tick".

Marcus:: You played Rick in Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, you were the ass kicking karate guy that was unfortunately killed. But not before displaying some kick ass moves. Did you already know karate before or did you have to learn it? Was it hard pulling it off or did it come naturally to you? Can you still do those moves today?

Andras::: I knew very little about the martial arts when I began Nightmare, and learned even less for the film. When i got on the set they pretty much told me to chuck any actual moves I knew and just roundhouse my way through since that looked better on camera. I can still roundhouse my way through a fight with an invisible Freddy and almost always win.

Marcus:: What was it like being in Nightmare on Elm Street 4? What was Robert Englund like in person? Did he ever pull any pranks on you or the cast? What funny stories can you tell that went on behind the scenes of NOES 4?

Andras:: Robert was great. Told stories while getting his make-up done. No pranks or funny stories to relate.

Marcus:: What is your take on the rest of the series? And on the upcoming Freddy Vs. Jason? So tell me...who do you think is going to win?

Andras:: I think New Line will win.

Marcus:: I must say, Attic Expeditions was kick ass flick! I really enjoyed watching it and thought you were great! What was it like working on a film that messes with your mind like that? What can you tell us about what went on when the cameras were off? Was there ever a point when you said...ummm I have no idea what the hell this is about? Or that you were completely lost in the story of the film?

Andras:: Yes to all. I mean, the film did drive me a little crazy, and I almost never knew what we were supposed to be getting at so I put my trust in the director. When the cameras weren't rolling there was a lot of talk about drugs and some doing of them. Ditto with sex. Mostly people were too tired from the long hours and lack of sustenance to actually do any of the debauched things that they wanted to get credit for. The best part was the other actors and, of course, getting to know the great Rogan Russel Marshall, who wrote Attic based on his own experiences in a mental institution.

Marcus:: You worked with an all star cast in Attic Expeditions, Jeffrey Combs, Ted Raimi, Seth Green, and even Alice Cooper! What were they all like in person? Do you still keep in touch with any of them? You must have had a blast working with them, what stories can you spill about what went on?

Andras:: I felt like I had a pretty good relationship with the rest of the cast. Most of the ones you mention were just on the film for a few days to do their part so we didn't really get to know eachother that well, but I had some very good times with Seth and, later in the production, Jeffrey. I also really enjoyed working with Shannon Hart Cleary and Beth Bates. They're both great actresses. And speaking of great actresses, you didn't mention Wendy Robie (from "Twin Peaks" and "People Under The Stairs"). She was really incredible.

Marcus:: The Demolitionist has you yet again with an all star cast, one being Heather Langenkamp, another Kruegerian victim, what was it like working with someone who was in the same series as you and ended up having the same fate?

Andras:: I wasn't even really aware of that connection until after the film had come out but i did get a kick out of being in the same film with Susan Tyrell again. She played my mom in "Far From Home" and in The Demolitionist she played the mayor, or the governor, and I played a cop and I imagined a scenario in which our two characters had this elaborate back story that led her from being a dead trailer park mom to becoming mayor of the city in which The Demolitionist took place, and led my character from being a surly runaway to being a rookie cop in the city that she controls.

Marcus:: Also you were paired up with Peter Jason (Numerous John Carpenter films),
Nicole Eggert(Charles in Charge) And Bruce Abbot (Re-animator) What  are they all like? And is it just me or  do you have a major "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon" thing going on here? Seems your connected to the entire cast in one way or another.

Andras:: Yep, I've worked with some of the best people, at the lowest point in their careers. I don't have much to report on the trio you mentioned. I didn't actually do much work with them directly.

Marcus:: Wow, you must be a big fan of horror movies seeing as how you have been in so many! So what films scared you as a kid? What are your favorite horror films?

Andras:: I actually prefer not to be scared.

Marcus:: You have 9 albums out, what can y ou tell me about your music and the bands you have worked with? Which do you prefer doing? Music, or Movies?

Andras:: I hate that question. Which do you prefer? Eating or sleeping? I prefer nothing. I try and only do things that I enjoy and that engage me creatively. Acting and playing music are two of the things that inspire me. As with my acting career I have had the opportunity to share gutter gigs with some of the most illustrious artists of the age. This has been rewarding and frustrating in equal measure. People can find out all about my music at my site: http://www.andrasjones.com .

Marcus:: What do we have to look forward to in the future from  you?

Andras:: http://www.radio8ball.com

Marcus:: Thanks once again for doing this interview with me, I greatly appreciate it!
