Y: The Last Man is a great comic; it is one of the best three on the shelves.  For those of you who do not know what the big 3 are, they are: Negation, Savage Dragon, and Y: The Last Man.  In my opinion, this was a weaker issue than the others.  Issue 16 is a kickoff for a new two-issue story-arc which doesn?t look like it is going to meet the standards of the past 3 story-arcs of Y: The Last Man.  It took a few months for this to come out, nut hopefully that is a sign that they will be coming out more frequently now, and long spaces between issues can be a pain because of the slow-paced nature of the issues.  In this issue, it focuses on a traveling band of women doing plays.  In their leisure time, they stumble upon Ampersand and note that he is a living male.  In all honesty, that is all that happens in this issue.  That shouldn?t be a problem, since it is indeed a Brian K. Vaughn written comic, half the fun is the dialogue (plenty of it too).  But once you have considered that this IS indeed a two issue story-arc, you wonder how much can be done in the upcoming issue.  I read in an interview with Wizard and Vaughn that the series is about to get dirtier, because he was told that he needs more mature content in his book.  I don?t like that idea, it reminds me too much of Marvel?s MAX line, which in itself has a couple good books (THE HOOD, SUPREME POWER), but really has far too much gratuitous violence, sex, and language just for the sake of having gratuitous violence, sex, and language.  I did not feel this way about the Vertigo books, but now it seems that the little ?SUGGESTED FOR MATURE READERS? goes a lot farther than previously thought.  While this may be a week issue, I threw on an extra point solely for it being an excellent series that is impeccably well written.  Just because this issue wasn?t as good as some of the others gives you no reason to drop the series.

Flash is one of my all time favorite comic heroes. I have been following him for a long time and seen many improvements, except when they took away his little tin hat. That was the COOLEST. Well anyway as we all know, Flash got his powers back in the last 2 issues. In the beggining of this issue Wally continues to find out more and more about himself. He has a pride strengthening talk with a man in a coffee shop and then rushes to the rescue after hearing the police radios in his suit. He gets to the Warehouse where Captain Cold is thought to be freezing police men. But Flahruns into someone totally different....

Ironically this comic is also written by Geoff Johns as is Avengers. In both there seems to be a pattern in my ratings? They both have very high story scores. Johns is a great writer in my opinion. He gives birth to the Flash again like never before and flows him smoothly back into crime fighting. He notes very well how Wally discovers all of the parts of his suit and experiments with his super-speed. Also I have to give props to Alberto Dose,  his art is great. This is a great buy? I guarantee!
