Led by big hits from Mykal Ramsey, Brett Dejong and Nick Bells two out two run gapper. The Columbus Marinerers were game as they battelled back to tie it at five in the third inning. Titans were executing there offense bringing two runs home with hard ground balls with none and one out to take a 7-5 lead. Columbus would get one back in the sixth. With two outs and tying runner on third and game winning run at second Nick Grage pitched out of the jam. Jake Nerz squeezed the last out with two hands in right center and the Titans were victorious!!!!!!

Game Summary
Titans split Double header with Knighthawks: Knighthawks took advantage of early Titan jitters and build a huge 10-2 lead going into 5th inning. Titans rally with 7 runs in the 5th and just come up short losing 10-9: Cole Sahner led the Titans with 2 hits.
Titans started the second game with the same fervor as they finished the first. Mykal Ramsey's first inning 2RBI double versus a very stingy pitcher set the tone early. Pitching and D-fense came up big as Nick Grage went a solid 2 and 2/3 innings. Titans built a 5-3 lead after Cole Sahner delivered a clutch single with 2 outs in the fifth. Fremont would tie it in the Sixth with a bases loaded single driving in two. Jake Schaeffer was clutch as he kept Fremont off balance to set up the bottom of the inning. Titans won't go away: Titan Birthday boy Ryan McElderry was thrown out at the plate after an overthrow of third base. Which left us at two out and know one on base. The two Nick's took over after that. Nick Grage would single then on a hit and run Nick Bell roped a single to left, Nick Grage did not stop at second and as he went to third the ball bounced away from the left fielder and Grage would slide in to win the game. Birthday cake for all!!!! Nice First win Titans. Happy Birthday Ryan!!
Titans finish 3rd in May Madness in Des Moines. Titans start tournament play in Des Moines going 2-1. Jake Aken earns win vs Mud dogs. Titans score early and ofter then hold off the Iowa Mud dogs 7-6. Jake Schaefer earns big win as Titan Bats take bite out of Venom. Jake Schaefer strikes out 9 in 4 and 2/3 innings. And Titan bats blow away Venom with a Nick Meister 2 run bomb in the 5th. Titans 8 Venom 2. Titans allow only 12 runs in tourney and earn 3rd place.
Reminder we are off until Friday. We will meet up at field #5 on Friday night 6pm.

Big Double header vs Grover on Saturday: Grover took advantage of spotty Titan defense to bulk up to a 7-0 lead. Cole Sahner CRUSHED his first HR to deep center to get it close 7-2 but Titan bats went cold with runners on and Grover won 10-2. Jake Aken pitched his second complete game of the year giving up 2 earned runs.
Game two was a much different story as Titan Bats loaded the bases in the first three innings scoring 6 runs. Grover made a game of it scoring 4 runs in the forth. But Titan bats would put this one away as Cole Sahner doubled off the left field fence and Ryan McElderry RIPPED his first HR of the year to Right center. Grover made a game of it and put the tying runs on but Brett DeJong finished with a backwards K and his first Complete game win of the year. Titans win 8-6!!!
Titans are taking off Sunday and Monday to rest and do homework. We will meet at Keystone at 5pm on Tuesday for early BP prior to the game with Grover. Nick Bell will have the
Titans finish 4th in Fremont. Keystone Titans go 3 and 2 in Fremont. Jake Aken pitches Titans thru winners Bracket. CB Falcons no match for Titan bats at Brett Dejong clobbers his first HR of the Year and Jake Aken throws his 4th complete game victory of the year in a 13-3 victory. Jake Aken also paced the Titans with two hits and 3 RBIs.
Game two has been elevated to an instant Titan classic . #1 seed in the tourney and home team Fremont vs the Keystone Titans. Titans strike early with a 2 RBI single from Jake Aken to push ahead 2-0. It is evident early the Brett DeJong has his good stuff today. Fremont plated a run in the second. Titans led 2-1 into the third. Titans plated a run in third to go up 3-1. Fremont plated 2 in the fourth to tie the game up at 3. Then nobody scored until Jake Aken brought home the winning run with his 3rd RBI of the game. Cole Sahner was clutch in inning 8-9- and the 10th. Nick Meister squeezed the final out of the epic 10 inning game. Funny that this was also our 10th victory of the season.
The last game for the Titans was there for the picking. Titans down early 2-0 battled back to a 4-2 lead with RBI singles by Jake Aken and Jake Nerz. Then a two RBI double from Nick Bell. That is the way it would stay until the fifth. Three costly errors cost the Titans the game as the Rattlers plated 9 in the bottom of the fifth. Titans look very tired in 21 st and 22nd innings of the day. The sixth inning was another story as the titans would plate 4 runs and end the game lining into a game ending double play. Rattlers 11- Titans 8. We were a couple of inches from tying this game up said many of the remaining Titan spectators. Great tourney by all Titan Players!!!
Titans will take Monday off for needed rest. Tuesday we have field #5 for practice from 8p-915pm. Coach Aken and Coach Mac will have the helm.
