Success of the Month

November

Cubs outfielder Corey Patterson

Corey, who batted .298 in 2003, is a fan favorite for all Cubs fans. With over 32 stolen bases last season, Corey has emerged as a top player in the majors.  He has not been so great at responding to his fan-mail during the last couple of years. This is why Corey Patterson is the Success of the Month.

October

Red Sox Slugger David Ortiz

"Papi" dominated the postseason this year.  The ALCS MVP, he hit amazing homeruns this season.  As a former Twin, he is shore to be a Red Sox for years to come.  I was lucky ebough to get him on Boston's last trip to Baltimore coming in the stadium.

September

2003 Most Valuable Player Alex Rodriguez

"Arod" dominated on the field last year, being the 2003 American League MVP.  This offseason he was traded to the Yankees and was moved to thirdbase.  Alex hasn't been to great with the pen during the last couple of years.  This is why Alex Rodriguez is the September Success of the Month.

August

Giants Powerhitter Barry Bonds

Augusts Success of the Month is Gaints Barry BondsBarry is on pace to break the all-time homerun record.  2 years ago he broke the single season homerun record, and is considered one of the best players to ever breathe.  He has been a tough signature to get over the years.  This is why Barry Bonds is Augusts success of the month.

July

Diamondbacks Secondbaseman Junior Spivey

July's Success of the Month in Junior SpiveyJunior has dominated the field since he got called up in 2001, but has never really answered his mail.  I had tried 2 other times both accounting in failures.  I never expected to get this one back so that is why Junior Spivey is July's Success of the Month.

June

Gold-Glove Secondbaseman Roberto Alomar

June's Success of the Month is former Indians and Mets and current Diamondbacks secondbaseman Roberto AlomarRoberto has won ten American League gold-glove awards, finished in the top 10 for MVP voting 5 times, and a 12-time all star including 12 in a row.  Roberto also has a career batting average of over .300.  Roberto signed by mail years ago, but has been very tough to get since, especially from the team address.  It was a pleasent surprise to get this one back.  This is why Roberto Alomar is June's Success of the Month.

MAY

Cubs Pitcher Kerry Wood

May's success of the month is none other than Cubs pitching ace Kerry Wood.  Over the years, he has been somewhat shaky with signing his fanmail taking over a year to return it or not returning it at all, however this spring training and early part of the season he has been awsome.  This is the first time I have landed Wood after many failures.  It only took under 3 months.  That makes Kerry Wood the success of the month.
