Timmy Trotter : Onion Explode

Project type : Special Effects

Project Status : Completed.

Date : 2007

Project overview : Timmy Trotter, A short film/mini series absolutely not a spoof of Harry Potter at all... One scene calls for a wizard to cast a spell towards the menacing onion of doom (uh?!) which promptly explodes. To create this effect, you will need an onion, a set of microdets from Le Maitre, cables, a firing box, and 240v power.

This 13 second clip I've enlarged and slowed down on the second bit. and yes, it is in the showreel too. At £70 a shot, this was one of the most expensive 3 seconds I've ever seen!!

The Race

Project type : Film /TV
Project Status : Nearly finished

This was one of my projects with Glam TV and the first of my own (well, sort of) ideas to be made. It's fairly obvious that it's a race between a car and a bike, but without a commentary track, no one's really sure what's going on! Any offers of someone writing something are greatly appreciated.

Other things to watch out for are the on board shots. The car was fitted with a small wireless camera from Dogcam, with the receiver in the boot. Unfortunately the whole car shook rather vigourously and shook itself out of tune very quick, so there's only 15 seconds worth. The bike cam is a cam corder attached ingeniously by Pete Newman to the handlebars. and also didn't like being shaken.

Anyway. here it is, Enjoy!
