Motorcycle mountain riding

end2end 2007

For me mountain riding is where it's at. Point me at a peak, show me a road like a snakes intestine and I'm there. So I guess I represent mountain riders from everywhere on this trip.

In recent years, there has been an increase in riders coming to the Pyranees, not a bad thing, roads have got better and facilities catering for riders have improved. I remember greenlaning a 6r over the last couple of km into Sort, before the swift open sweepers of today.

However I wonder how many carry the emergency services numbers in their phones?

If you have a major bin in the mountains, minutes do count, and air ambulances are essential.

Thats why, I fully support this trip by the road racers, putting myself and my 9r where my mouth is, I will be there in April, on the Lands End to John O'groats trip.

I urge you to collect a bit of loose change every week and donate it by paypal in April, for one day in the mountains,on holiday, you may need these services yourselves.

I'll be at the Manx this year with members of my own club, enjoying the racing, see you all for a beer

Cheers Kevin.

February 3rd

The weeks tick by. Got a good deal of bike preperation to do for this year.

Need new discs, suspension, final drive and a good service after the winter commute. Still, I'm on target, which is good.

I kick off with the end2end.

By late May will be in Northern France, June Swiss Alps, Austria, down to friends in the Pyranees, then up to Nurberg.

August see's me at the Manx, then a few days rest before heading back to Germany, finishing the season at Nurberg again.

A busy but exciting bike year.

Sponsorship for the end2end has been amazing, the support of ordinary decent people has been awesome. Thanks to you.

Cheers Kevin
