Dear Mamá
It is with a most sad and heavy of heart I do write to you. It does seem to be that loss is touching everywhere as of late. Know that I am there in spirit and that my heart and condolences to be going out for everyone. How I do wish I could be returning to my land of birth to be there for Grandmamá's funeral, but sadly the monies are just not to be had, as my eldest will soon to be leaving for college...
And no sooner shall they be leaving but we will need to be doing the planning of funds for my next eldest twins, who celebrated their teen birthdays most recently.
As my Del was still recovering from the birth of our youngest of sons, we had but a small party. Kristof was not impressed, however.
A few of Kristof, Onastacia, and Sonja's friends from school were in attendance, so I do not be understanding why my son felt we were not being properly celebratory.
But then, my second son is of the motivated sort and no doubt had expectations that our simple family gathering was not quite to be meeting. Regardless, he transitioned into a strapping young man who, like his elder sister, has his head about it when it comes to be being about monies. He has a studious side about him as well, much alike my heir. Kristof immediately stated he was interested in acquiring a job of the after school variety. I informed him that such things could wait until after the festivities did be over.
And indeed, it would be most rude to be abandoning and ignoring my second daughter as it came to be her time to extinguish the candles upon her cake.
Onastacia contemplated her birthday wish most deeply before blowing out her candles. She always was a most thoughtful child.
I just wish she had contemplated more carefully the selection of her birthday suit. She appeared more to have been raiding the rag bin before her party. When I exclaimed on this, my Del chuckled and explained again to me this most strange of birthday customs. It would appear that here in Baskerville and areas of the surrounding, there is a tradition surrounding the gathering of these heinous birthday apparels. Families have "birthday bins" where they to be collecting odd clothes, old costumes, and abnormal apparels of all sorts. Upon their birthday, a family member does randomly pull an outfit from this bin and don it as an act of celebration. I am not certain I am approving of this, but as this does seem to be Simmerican custom -- and it makes my Del happy -- I will be tolerating it for now.But despite her her most heinous of apparel selections, my second daughter did grow up well and happy. She continues to be a most studious child but I am suspecting there may be a side to her that she has not been showing to us. Still waters run deep, as Grandmamá used to say.
After the party did be over, Kristof selected for himself a look he said was "much more appropriate for a young business man."
Onastacia also would go out to be buying new clothings and new pair of glasses. She did not express much interest in changing her looks otherwise.
The next morning, as soon as the paper boy did be delivering the newspaper... or perhaps it is a paper girl; I have not found it important of late to be inquiring upon the gender of the person who delivers us our morning news. I digress. As I did say, the next morning, as soon as the paper boy did be delivering the newspaper, Kristof was meticulously scanning the employment advertisements. Despite the wide assortment of employment offered, he is being most particular about what position he selects. He is quite serious and motivated about his life goals.
Fortunately, my son does not appear to be too serious about all aspects of life. I spotted him one afternoon making conversation and being quite complimentary to Lulzipawp's good friend Daffodil Crockitt. They seem quite taken with each other, although she is the elder to him. I believe she will be attending university with my daughter come the fall.
At some point when she was visiting, Daffodil did bring her younger brother Wyatt with her. Onastacia is a bit sweet on him, as they were friends at Baskerville Youth Academy. I have my questions as to how appropriate a companion he is for her, however.
Despite their dalliances with their schoolmates of the opposite gender, my middle childrens have not been neglectful of their studies. They are frequently upon the honor roll and are frequently investigating new things to be learning, to the point they are often arguing over whose it is being to be using the family telescope. As time is wont to do, it did roll around far to swiftly and soon the time was upon us for the birthday of my youngest sons. As Oleksandr and Lulzipawp were most busy studying for their finals and exams of placement, we opted for a quite family celebration.
Here is Slad, the elder of the twins...
And here is Vieter, the younger of the pair. They remind me much of Oleksandr and Lulzipawp at that same age of toddlerhood.(OoCNbA: Slad and Vieter are complete and utter clones of Alek and Zil. *headdesk* Well, Vieter's a boy instead of a girl, like Zil, but exactly the same otherwise.)
Shortly after our youngest ascended into the toddler-children, my Del returned from her office of government with some most wondrous news. In our last election, our congressman of the local variety has been running unopposed, or so we did think. It appears however that our local electorate had found someone they felt would be more successful in the offices of higher government, and added my Del as a write in candidate in the elections. After much counting and recounting of pips and chads and write in ballots, my Del was officially elected as our Woman of Congress. She was most excited at this happy news.

My Del explained to me that now that we were figures of some notoriety in the circles of social of Baskerville, perhaps it was now time to be donning clothes a bit more appropriate to our positions as member of Congress and as renown and respected defender of sealife. I believe she may have also muttered something about getting me to wear something without sleeves, as it itches, but I do believe she may have been only muttering to herself at my difficulty in finding clothes I thought proper. My Del had some time off before Congress did reconvene, so while our eldest children tended diligently to their schoolworks, my Del and I turned our attentions to the teaching of our youngest the little things such as talking and walking and the making of the tinkle.
Time did roll along again, the seasons did pass, and the time for the birthdays of my youngest sons grew close again. My Del and I opted one more to be having a small family gathering, as Oleksandr and LulzipawpIt did be a bit of a bittersweet moment for my Del, because for the first time in quite some there will be no childrens of the toddler age or younger running about under foots. Do not tell my dear Del, but I to be looking forwards to this.
Here is my son Slad, showing better taste in birthday clothing than his sister.
And here is his brother Vieter, who apparently is professing an early interesting in past times of the sporting variety.
I am swearing that if Vieter were not tow-headed, I would not be being able to tell these two apart.
Fall did come upon us swiftly, and as a surprise early frost did reach us, the time did arrive for my eldest childrens to be departing for college.Oleksandr called for a taxi to take him the station first, as Lulzipawp did still be waiting on a last minute email containing confirmation that there did be space in the dormitories for her.
While my son did wish to catch the red eye to his new campus, he agreed to stay waiting at the station until Lulzipawp had received her confirmation. Still he was leaving quite early in the morning hours, so those of the rest of us were still eating breakfast and preparing for the day.
My Del met the taxi with him and waves a most wistful good bye as he drove off.But an hour or so later Lulzipawp received her confirmation of housing from university and quickly called for a taxi so she and her brother could be leaving yet this morning. Her taxi arrived just as my Del was leaving for her office. She would be meeting our eldest at university for their orientation, but needed to arrange some items with her congressional staff before left.
Lulzipawp was escorted to her taxi by her other siblins, as they embarked up on their journey to Baskervilles academies, leaving me to be enjoying the blissful solitude and silence of the empty house.A solitude that was interrupted in a most tragic of ways. The spectre of death did come visiting for the eldest of my sheeps which are probably sheepsdogs, Romney. My other sheeps which are probably sheepsdog were distressed quite terrible.
While not the most brilliant of our animal family members, Romney did be a loving and loyal friend who will be missed quite deeply.I must be going now Mamá as I have some reports to compile for my next appearing before the governmental board which coordinates the protecting of endangered species. Now is the critical time of the year when the board is deciding upon and parsing out funding to the various groups that do be doing the actual protecting, and I need to convince them to increase our funding for the year.Love, your son
Joe
