Kerry, I recently became aware of your book through correspondence with you. I have read some of the material on this site and think it is great. My late brother, Harold R Powers, served in Vietnam with D Troop, 1/1 Cav, Americal Division. He was there shortly after you were, from October 1969 till November 1970. He passed away in March 1985, but I know he would have liked reading your book just as I am looking forward to reading it. Tom Powers

It was good therapy to tell my own story...it was the best way for me to overcome from some of my ptsd. It was not an easy way for me to write but it is the form that my writing took. As I awaken I would write what I just dreamed about or another memory would resurface I would write about it until finally there was material to put to print. My writing took me on a journey to where I could look at pieces of my pain, fear, and loss at little at a time. Best wishes to you.

Was always wondering if it was indeed good therapy to tell your won story. How did it work for you? Don't have the money right now to purchase your book, but I can bet we have similar backgrounds and stories to tell. As one doc to another, let me hear from you.

Dear Doc,
I want to take the time to say, God Bless and Thank You for giving us all including today's generation of young people the real "Lessons of Life". My husband, Ed, is a retired Navy Seal, incorporating over 20 years with NOAA. When I read some of the excerpts from your web site, his eyes became very teary!! You and all the very special men and women in today's Armed Forces have provided us with the protection and safety that we always seem to take for granted. When you have the opportunity Ed and myself are looking forward in receiving an e-mail from you. May God Bless you with much good health, happiness and prosperity.
Our Warmest Regards,
Rosemary & Ed (Pinky) Clark

Hope you don't mind the intrusion. I stand in awe of your service and sacrifice.

I am producing a corporate video for a large supplier of blood drawing and processing equipment here in the Chicago area. (not a commercial) The company is Fenwal(they invented blood bags) and we are NOT looking for an endorsement. We already have a few stories of how patients and providers rely on blood products to save lives or improve the quality of lives. We are hoping to hear from a military surgeon, nurse or combat medic that can briefly tell their story. A few stipulations: - They can be anywhere in the US, but we prefer Northern Illinois due to time constraints. - We can possibly offer some honoraria - It is best if they are no longer active military so we would not need government approval - We need to shoot NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 19th. We prefer someone with experience in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Any leads would be helpful.

Thank you for your consideration and for your service to our nation.

I am excited that there may finally be a way of us to give back to our present-day fellow medics with a proposed PTSD module to medicsa at Ft. Sam Houston!

Rock on, Doc!
