
Darin Sanders (Asst. Head Instructor) 
Sensei Sanders, a veteran of Karate for 19 years, is a skilled martial artist and teacher. Sensei competed extensively and was a dominant force in Kumite (point fighting). Sensei Sanders has inspired countless adults and children with friendly, yet no-nonsense approach to Shotokan Karate. Sensei is married, has two daughters and works as a computer network consultant for Novacoast.
Jeffrey Germond (Black Belt Instructor)
Sensei Germond is another 20 year veteran of the martial arts. In addition to Shotokan, Sensei Germond has trained in Aikijujitsu and Taekwondo. Students enjoy Sensei Germond's attention to the details, helping them perfect their technique. Sensei is married and has three daughters and a son. He has works in a supervisorial capacity with the California Youth Authority.
Anthony Sheplay, MD (Black Belt Instructor)
Sensei Sheplay trained in Shotokan Karate in the Los Angeles area and received his black belt there, prior to moving to the Central Coast. His very strong foundation in Karate lent itself well to the Ken Yu Kan system and he earned a black belt through our school as well. As a medical doctor, Sensei Sheplay's knowledge of the human body and physical fitness has been invaluable. He maintains a humble, friendly approach to teaching, which students appreciate. Sensei Sheplay is married and has two sons and a daughter. He is a licenced physician, with offices in Templeton and San Luis Obispo.
