  • Matthew Pilgrim 

UK is likely to sign 6′8″ PF Mathew Pilgrim, formerly of Hampton University, for next season. Pilgrim would enroll at UK next school year but would have to sit out a year because of a transfer rule. Pilgrim has been compared to Joey Dorsey because of his height and body build. Here is a picture of Matthew Pilgrim taken last season when he played for Hampton. [read more]...

  • Curtis Kelly

Kelly is in the process now of narrowing down a potential list of schools, and Kentucky may be one of his top options. The 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward from Queens, N.Y., plans to visit Lexington in two weeks.

"UConn is a great school," Kelly explained. "And Coach Calhoun is a great coach. He's a Hall of Fame coach, and I respect him. I just don't think it was a good fit. They are a talented team and they have some good guys coming in. I just felt like it would be best to move on to somewhere else."

  • Derrick Jasper

"The decision to transfer is in no way an indication of my experience playing for UK," Jasper said. "I feel at this point in my life, it is important for me to be close to my family, and I intend to transfer to a school closer to the west coast where I can see my family more often, and they can see me play.

"It was not an easy decision for me to make, since the fans have been so wonderful and very supportive of my teammates and me. I want to thank Coach Gillispie and the entire UK coaching staff for their guidance and support they have given me these past two years. I have grown a tremendous amount as a basketball player, and most importantly a person and feel it is largely due to the people involved with the UK basketball program."
