MONTHLY NEWS & UPDATES ARCHIVES

This page will be used as an archive for all of my monthly news and updates pages from September 2003-July 2005. They are basically blogs where I listed the latest news about what's going on in my life, gay community news, reality programs news, local news and/or world news and updates to this website. As of August 1, 2005 I am no longer doing a Monthly News/Updates page for this website. I do have a blog at WINDOWS LIVE SPACES now. It won't necessarily be a daily blog. I'll only post when I feel the need/want to or there is something important going on to write about. Archived Monthly News/Updates pages are listed by year and month below, with the latest date at top.

DECEMBER 2003

December's Latest News and Updates:

WEDNESDAY-December 31, 2003  New Year's Eve! 3...2...1...

  • Personal News- Suppose to be going to a New Year's Eve party at our friends', Claude and Chase, house tonight. They are having a "Mardi Gra" themed party. I'll try not to drink too much. LOL. I guess now is the time to reflect back on all we have done in 2003...4 seconds later...OK, I'm through! I'm trying to decide how I'm going to do my News/Updates for 2004. If I'm just going to add to this page or create a whole new page. I guess you'll find out tomorrow or the next day what I decided to do. If your partying tonight, be sure to have a great time but also be safe and if you drink alcohol, do so responsibly and don't drive. Oh yeah, and because of the times we live in, watch out for terrorist activities!!
  • National News- Security has been stepped up all over the USA like never before for New Year's Eve. We have "no fly" zones, helicopters with police and guns, snipers. They are welding shut manholes and taking down vending and paper machines in New York and other cities. I guess it's just a sign of the times we live in. Hope everyone has a safe and joyous time tonight.
  • TV News- The World Idol results show airs tomorrow evening so be sure to check it out. Also a behind the scenes look at the American Idol tour airs tomorrow, all on Fox. New Fear Factors will air for the next two Mondays on NBC, a Twins episode and then a Couples episode. Should be interesting.

TUESDAY-December 30, 2003

  • TV News- There are a bunch of reality shows that will be starting in the new year, some new seasons and some all new shows. And some of them are, like my roommate says, getting totally ridiculous. Like Fox's My Big Fat Obnoxious Finace'!! But besides that a new season of American Idol, Celebrity Mole Yutcan, Average Joe 2:Hawaii and The Apprentice with Donald Trump all start in January!
  • Updates- Changed pictures and the music on the HOME page and this page. The music on the HOME page is now "Into the Groove" by Madonna and the music on this page is "Holiday" by Madonna to give that "bringing in the New Year" party feeling. (Do you get the sense that I like Madonna? Yeap, I do!!)

MONDAY-December 29, 2003

  • Personal News- My friend and I spontaneously took a trip to Atlanta Saturday night to visit and go out with our friend Wallace who lives there. We went to The Atlanta Eagle and Burkharts on Saturday night. Then on Sunday I worked on Wallace's computer that had crashed and got it back up and running and then we went out to the bar/club Bulldogs and back to Burkharts for a couple of drinks before heading back home. It was wild because while at Bulldogs I saw a guy, Charles, from where I use to live in Camilla, GA and another guy, Jerald, that I knew from when I use to hang out in Tallahassee, FL. It's always nice to see some familiar faces from the past when your out of town. 2004 is almost here!! No other news today because I haven't been watching any TV or listening to any news the past couple of days.

SATURDAY-December 27, 2003  Happy Birthday Brittany!

  • Personal News- Happy Sweet 16 to my niece Brittany! Watch out, another teen driver on the road in Georgia!! LOL. The movie I ordered from Columbia House DVD Club, Jeepers Creepers 2, came in the mail yesterday. I watched it last night. It was OK. I actually enjoyed watching the special features and extras more. Neat to watch them making the movie and the creature. Not sure what we're doing for New Year's Eve yet though we have been invited to some friends' house party, where we have went the last two years. More than likely that is where we'll be going. Hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend!!

FRIDAY-December 26, 2003  Happy Kwanzaa!

  • TV News- Watched World Idol last night. They had all the "idols" who won their competions in different countries all competing for World Idol status. I have to say it was pretty interesting to say the least. The judge from Poland was a trip and helped make it that interesting plus the lady from Jordan who won the Pan Arab countries competion sang in Arabic. Kelly Clarkson represented the USA very well. I think her toughest competion will be the guy from Norway, who performed last, and the guy from Austraila. The results of the competion will be on next week on New Year's Day on FOX. The new season of American Idol starts on Monday, January 19th and will be on 3 days in a row. Be sure to check it out!
  • Updates- Updated the link to American Idol-Season 3 in the Reality Show Links section above.

THURSDAY-December 25, 2003  Merry Christmas!!

  • Personal News- Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it!! Kwanzaa starts tomorrow for those of you who celebrate that. Though I don't really celebrate Christmas myself, my partner who does, got me a bottle of Elizabeth Taylor's Passion for Men cologne. That was so sweet and it smells very good! Because of all the Christmas programs, there hasn't really been any programs that I watch on TV and therefore I haven't been watching TV so that is why there is a lack of TV News this week. Plus some programs, like Fear Factor, have ended their season and are now showing repeats. I did watch the movie BASIC with John Travolta and Samuel Jackson on dvd. I have to say, I didn't think it was all that great.

MONDAY-December 22, 2003

  • Personal News- I'm home early from my trip visting my family because my friend had to be back home to watch his daughter while she is out of school and his ex-wife is at work. We got back to SC about 10:30 PM last night. Most of my family is doing alright but my sister Michelle says the death of her son Blaine is getting harder as time goes by because she has never been separated from him for this long plus with all the Christmas shopping, gift exchanging, etc... it's just a continuous reminder that he's not here.
  • Updates- I did a lot of updating to my IN MEMORY OF page. Added new pictures and/or information to almost every memorial plus added a couple new ones.

SUNDAY-December 21, 2003  Happy Birthday Tony & JC!!

  • Personal News- Happy 34th Birthday to my friend Tony in Columbia, SC and Happy 21st Birthday to my friend JC in Atlanta, GA! (hey, you can drink legally now!)

THURSDAY-December 18, 2003

  • Personal News- I am definitely heading to Georgia this afternoon to visit with my family and try to be some kind of support for my sister Michelle, the mother of my nephew Blaine. Again, depending on whether I can and feel like getting on a computer or not, it may be the middle of next week before I do updates on my site again. Everyone have a nice weekend!!
  • Gay Community News- As you may well know by now, the Senate may be voting in January on whether to pass legislature that would make an ammendment to the Constitution that would make marriage legal only between a man and a woman. If it does pass, President Bush has already said that he supports it and would sign it. Rather your gay or straight, rather you believe in gay marriage or not, you should know that it is not and would not be right to add an ammendment to the Constitution that discriminates against one group of people and at a federal level. These things should be decided by individual religious groups and states. And for gay people, if this ammendment is added, it could reverse other legislative laws and deny us of rights again that people have fought hard to gain. Possibly all "domestic partner" benefits and rights could be lost. The sodomy law that was just overturned in the Texas case less than a year ago, could be reversed. Adoptions by gay couples could be totally out of the question. A lot more consequences to this other than it just being illegal for gay couples to marry. Call your Senator today and tell them not to vote for this. For more information, go to the HRC website.
  • TV News- The Simple Life was funny again last night, especially when Nicole stuck her gloved arm up that cow's butt to check to see if it was pregnant and after pulling her arm out she chased Paris around. They are going to be showing the two episodes from last week again tonight, so if you missed one, this will be your time to catch up. By the way, they are now showing 2 new episodes every week, 1 on Tuesday and 1 on Wednesday, both start at 8:30 PM EST on FOX.

WEDNESDAY-December 17, 2003

  • Personal News- I'm suppose to be heading down to visit my family in south Georgia either tomorrow evening or Friday so unless I can, and feel like, using one of my sister's computers, there will be no news or updates to my website for about 4 days or so.
  • World News- Saddam Hussien is now going to be interrogated by the CIA. Maybe they'll get some good info out of him. Now a bunch of Iraqis are complaining about his treatment and worried about him getting a fair trial. Can you believe that!? This man killed or had others kill over a million people during his rule, not to mention all of the torture, rape and people who have never been found! Also, Tony Blair of Britian is now reporting that the U.S. has found secret labratories that were to be used to make illegal long range missles (WMDs). We'll see how that comes out.
  • TV News- I watched The Simple Life, the reality show with Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton, last night. I had caught up on the other episodes last week. This is a pretty funny show. The only part I haven't liked about it is when they, in my opinion, mock or downgrade working people by not doing the work that they are told to do and suppose to do (as in the case of the dairy farm and Sonic, the restaraunt) and in fact, sabatoging these places. Most of the people are at these places because they HAVE to be there to make a living, to buy food for their table and clothes for their backs. But other than that, I like the show and think there are a lot of funny parts. I really liked last nights' episode where Nicole had two guys kiss each other in front of the kissing booth at the Spring festival they were co-sponsors of and was earlier in the show talking about how it turned her on to see two "straight" guys french kissing and asked the teenage guy, Justin, that is part of the Leding family they are staying with, if he and his friend (a guy) had ever french kissed. To which they both nervously replied, "NO". Nicole and Paris also said some mean words to Justin's ex-girlfriend. Another new episode airs tonight. There is also going to be a second season but I don't know much about how that is going to work right now. Stay tuned for details! The Survivor 7 winner, Sandra Diaz-Twine was on the David Letterman show last night. When asked was she going to quit her job, she said that she had just called and quit while she was in the dressing room waiting to come on his show!! Cool!
  • Updates- Starting today, I'm breaking the News into different sections, including Personal News-news about me and my life, World News- worldwide news and TV News- news about TV programs I watch (most will be Reality TV shows). There may also be other catagories, like Gay Community News- news that concerns gay and lesbian people, rights, etc... Added another memorial to my IN MEMORY OF page. Some of the memorials don't have photos yet because I lost most all of my photos from that tornado in 2000. I should be getting some from my Mom this weekend when I go down to visit so look for them next week sometime.

MONDAY-December 15, 2003  Survivor 7 Winner!

  • News- Survivor 7:Pearl Islands came to an end last night. With the Reunion show it was 3 hours long. 22 y/o Darrah Johnson, the mortician from Liberty, MS was the first to be voted off, and then in the last immunity challenge, Lillian Morris, the 51 y/o Boy Scout Troop leader from Cincinnati, OH, won and decided to take Sandra to the final two, voting off 29 y/o Johnny (Fairplay) Dalton, the art consultant from Danville, VA. That decision cost her the million dollars but I believe it was the right decision because Johnny didn't deserve the 1st or 2nd place prize. So yes, 29 y/o Sandra Diaz-Twine (pictured) from Ft. Lewis, Washington who WAS an office assistant won the million dollars and a brand new GMC Envoy SUV!! I would have been happy for either of them to win and Lillian does get $100,000. Season 8 of Survivor starts February 1, 2004 after the Superbowl. This time it is going to be called Survivor: All Stars because they are going to have unique castaways from the past 7 shows come back to compete. Should be interesting! Stay tuned for more details!

SUNDAY-December 14, 2003  Saddam Hussein Captured!!

  • Special News- That's right, Saddam Hussein was taken into captivity last night!! They found him hidden in a hole in the ground on a small farm. He had a gun but didn't put up a fight or resist in any way. Another victory for the U.S.A and the coalition forces and of course the Iraqi people! The news conference started off with, "We got him!". The video of Saddam showed that he was worn down and looking bad or should I say rough. It also showed a doctor checking him for lice and checking his teeth. They have confirmation and know for sure it is him through fingerprints, dental records, DNA, and scars and marks on his body. Most of the Iraqi people were celebrating in the streets and firing guns in the air. Of course there are still some skeptical people and Saddam loyalist that are mad about it. Oh well, they'll be alright!
  • News- The Holiday Party at our friends' house in Columbia, SC was pretty good. The fellowship, the food and the drinks were all good. They definitely had plenty of food and drinks including my favorite, cheesecake. They also had cookies, candies, meatballs, cocktail sausages, nachos and cheese, potato chips, so on and so forth. I drank Cosmos. They had a gift exchange also and we got a nice cork screw set for wine bottles. We didn't go out to any clubs after all. Stayed until about 12:15 AM and then headed home mainly because I had gotten a headache and just wasn't feeling all that great. I'm feeling much better today but I do have a case of the "runs". Probably because I drank more than I ate.

SATURDAY-December 13, 2003  Holiday Party Time!

  • News- Well today is the Holiday Party at my friend's house in Columbia, SC. In fact, I'll be heading out in about 4 hours. I'm going over early and will be helping them get everything set up for the party. Everybody is suppose to go out to one of the clubs there in Columbia after the party. I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow. Well, let's see, in Germany they have approved and are going to build a $618,000 memorial to all of the homosexuals that were killed by the Nazis before and in the concentration camps back during Hitler's rule. Well, Bobby Brown has been officially charged with battery now from the December 7th incident where he hit his wife, Whitney Huston. My roommate and I both agree that during that Diane Sawyer interview from about a year ago when Bobby is talking about how he would never hit a woman, Whitney is looking at him like inside she's saying, "You big liar." LOL. But it looks like they will probably remain a couple. Everyone have a great weekend and be careful.

FRIDAY-December 12, 2003

  • News- Went to watch my roommate Stephan's 10 y/o daughter, who is in her school choir, perform at the Haywood Mall yesterday afternoon. They put on a little Christmas show. It was nice. She'll be performing again this Sunday at Mauldin's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Well, last night on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands Burton won the reward challange and besides getting a nice trip away from the island, he got a brand new GMC Envoy SUV. Sweet! He picked Jon to go with him to enjoy his reward. The women finally got smart and turned on the men! About time! And the good thing about it is that they tricked them and lied to them just like the men did to them. So at tribal council 31 y/o Burton Roberts from San Francisco, CA got blindsided, just like he did Christa and Rupert, and was voted off (again). He had the nerve at the end of the show to say that he hopes Lillian can live with herself because they had an alliance and she broke it. That is so stupid considering he has broken many promises, told many lies and, the main reason being, that he had voted for Lill to be voted off at this very tribal council!! Jon, who was still making broken promises on his "dead" grandmother's grave, was stunned about Burton being voted off. They need to make sure he goes next. Don't miss this season's 2 hour finale which airs this Sunday night. It includes the Reunion show.

THURSDAY-December 11, 2003

  • News- The Holiday party I'm going to is only 2 days away!! My sister, Michelle, and our parents attended the Lee County Middle School Band's winter program Tuesday night in Leesburg, GA that my nephew Blaine was suppose to play his trumpet in. They dedicated the whole show to Blaine and all the band members wore purple ribbons on the sleeves of their outfits in honor of him. That was so nice of them. My mom recorded it on videotape so I can't wait to see it. Which reminds me, I may be going back down to Georgia next Friday to visit for a few days. Now for some insignificant news; Melana Scanati and Jason Peoples from Average Joe appeared on The Tonight Show Tuesday night and said they are genuinely attracted to each other and are still dating. Jason also said that he is no longer living with his parents. The Billboard Awards, broadcast live from the MGM in Las Vegas on Fox last night, was phenomenal. Nice set up (stage). Very funny also. Clay Aiken & Ryan Seacrest were the butt of a lot of (gay) jokes (especially by Triumph the Dog), as usual, but they take it all in stride and are nice as always. Kathy Griffin joked that her and Clay slept together the night before and he was spanking her and making her call him "daddy" while flipping her in different positions. When Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were presenting an award, Nicole was saying words your not suppose to say on live television. I'm sure you've heard that another "Bachelor", Andrew Firestone and the girl he picked, Jenna, are no longer together. They say the last "Bachelor" guy, Bob and the girl he picked are no longer together either. But the Bachelorette, Trista, and the man she picked, Ryan, got married this past Saturday and the wedding was shown on ABC last night. Oh, and Bobby Brown hit Whitney Huston and could be charged with domestic violence once he gets back to Atlanta because he took off to California right after the incident.

TUESDAY-December 9, 2003

  • News- The Christmas Fear Factor was good. Besides having some cool new stunts, one guy cussed at Joe Rogan and at first refused to leave because he said he finished eating his disgusting meal in the 20 minute time alloted but the rules said he had to have it swallowed and he didn't. He finally left. On the season finale of Average Joe, Melana picked the "hunk", 26 y/o Jason Peoples over the "average joe", 27 y/o Adam Mesh. I was so rooting for Adam, but hey, he won't have any problem finding someone new now. Besides being a nice guy with a great sense of humor, and very good looking (in my opinion) he is also a millionaire. Good Luck Adam!! Melana and Jason will be making an apperance on The Tonight Show tonight so we'll see if they're still together. They showed previews for the next season of Average Joe which starts on January 5, 2004 and will feature a former Miss USA, more "average joes" and more, even hotter "hunks". Can't wait for the new season!!

MONDAY-December 8, 2003  Happy Birthday Darrell!

  • News- Happy 19th Birthday to my roommate's son Darrell! Don't miss the 2 hour season finale of Average Joe tonight at 9 PM right after the special Christmas Fear Factor. Melana has got to pick between Adam, the "average joe", whom I am rooting for and Jason, the "hunk". Also, besides the regular Survivor 7:Pearl Islands being on Thursday, it's 2 hour season finale will be this coming Sunday. Don't miss the Billboard Music Awards this Wednesday. My friend and I are suppose to be going to a Christmas party this coming Saturday night at some friend's house in Columbia, SC. The friends, Tony and Cleve, who are throwing the party are also an interracial gay couple who have been together about a year or little over now. I haven't drank any alcohol (except the once in Atlanta) now in about 3 months but I plan on gettin' my drink on at the party. LOL.
  • Updates- Added more memorials to my IN MEMORY OF page.

SATURDAY-December 6, 2003

  • News- Thursday night on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands Jon was still keeping the lie alive that his grandmother is dead. He along with Lillian and Darrah won the reward challenge and were flew off the island to a nice spa where they were able to shower and eat very well. Dumbass Sandra and Christa were still believeing everything that the liars Jon and Burton were telling them and so the 24 y/o computer programmer from Los Angelos, CA, Christa Hastie, got voted off.
  • Updates- Added a new page titled IN MEMORY OF which contains memorials to my nephew and one of my grandmothers. I will be adding more memorials later. Added a new picture to my HOME page for the holiday season. Took the EMAIL button off of the navigation menu and instead put email icon buttons in conveinent locations throughout my website mainly because when I added the new page, you could no longer see the button on the navigation menu.

THURSDAY-December 4, 2003

  • News- Just got back home around 7:30 PM last night from my 13 y/o nephew's, Blaine Donavan Cooper, funeral, which was held on Monday, December 1st in Leesburg, GA at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Very tragic situation. Still trying to comprehend it and help my sister and her family make it through this. Have not been watching any TV so I can not and am not going to worry about updating on the programs that I usually do. I will be watching Survivor tonight and start my updating from there. Also not going to worry about catching up and reporting on any other news or gay issues that have come up since I've been gone. All that will resume tomorrow.
  • Updates- Updated the memorial to my nephew on my HOME page. I will eventually be making a separate permanent page to put his memorial and a memorial to other lost loved ones.

November's Latest News and Updates:

FRIDAY-November 28, 2003

  • Tragic News- My 13 year old nephew, Blaine Cooper, the son of my sister Michelle and her husband David, the brother of Brittany and Brandon, was killed yesterday evening (Thanksgiving) around 5:40 PM in a 4-wheeler accident. A witness said he hit an embankment and the 4-wheeler flipped several times finally coming to rest on top of him. He was wearing a helmet but it did no good in this case. The coroner says he thinks he died instantly but the witness did try to revive him. The funeral hasn't been arranged at this time but will probably be Saturday or Sunday. I will be leaving later this evening to head down to Leesburg, GA to be with my family. There will be no News/Updates for at least 3 days. You can see the memorial I made to Blaine on my HOME page also.

THURSDAY-November 27, 2003  Happy Thanksgiving!

  • News- Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Take time out today to give thanks for all that you have and all those you love. Well, a lot more news again. First for those of you who support same-sex marriage you need to go to HRC's website and see what you can do to help stop this new bill that these 5 senators are trying to pass that would add an amendment to the constitution to make same-sex marriages illegal. If it ever becomes an ammendment on the Constitution, it will be hard to ever reverse or change and gays will be denied not only the right to marry but all the rights that come with that, like seeing your loved one if they are in the hospital, life insurance, family leave, etc...Now on to the less significant things. I got a surprise last night. I didn't know they were running another episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on NBC. It was FABULOUS, as usual! LOL. They made over this guy attorney named Richard M. He had been wearing a tupee for 13 years at a cost of about $3,000/year! He got rid of the tupee and they shaved what hair he had real low (buzz cut). I have to say I was glad to see him go natural but he did look about 10 years younger with the tupee. They burned the tupee on a grill!! Funny! Thom did a beautiful job on redecorating the house or should I say decorating the house as they had about no furniture in it. They hired a cater this time because Richard needed to be more social and he usually used staying in the kitchen to get out of being social. His wife and friends loved the new him. His mother on the other hand wasn't too happy about the hair. Also his smallest son looked scared as if he was trying to figure out what happened! Well on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands, Sandra and Christa were mad about the others voting off Rupert so Sandra dumped out the fish that Rupert had caught but she let Christa take the blame for it. Then Sandra cussed out Jon royaly. In the rewards challenge the reward was for one of them to get to spend 24 hours with their loved one that was brought to the island. Jon had a friend come and the friend said that Jon's Grandmother died. Everyone felt sorry for Jon so they let him win. Then they show Jon and the friend laughing and talking about how they had set it up so if the friend came on the show to make everyone think that his grandmother had died when really she was "sitting home watching Jerry Springer" as Jon said. Sandra had started to get an alliance with Tijuana to vote out Burton. There was a mix up at the Immunity challenge. At first they thought Burton won but then they found out he made a mistake in the challenge so he was eliminated and Darrah ended up winning it. Then Jon, swearing on his "dead" grandmother, got Sandra and Christa to vote with him to vote out Tijuana instead of Burton. So the 27 y/o pharmaceutical sales representative from St. Louis, Missouri, Tijuana Bradley, was voted off.
  • Updates- Added American Idol, whose new season starts January 20, 2004, to the Reality Show Links section above.

WEDNESDAY-November 26, 2003  Happy Birthday Jimmy!

  • News- First of all, Happy Birthday to my friend Jimmy P. who lives in Atlanta! Well, Thanksgiving is tomorrow!! Have you got everything you need for dinner? My friend bought a pre-baked apple and pumpkin pie, Peppridge Farm stuffing in a bag (just add water, LOL) and of course a turkey (uncooked) to throw in the oven. It really can't turn out bad unless of course the turkey burns! We'll see. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was great last night (the episode on NBC). It was just fabulous! of course (LOL). They did a makeover on Jeff T., a married postal worker who lives in Oakridge, NJ. Got rid of his long hair and scruffy beard (he had for 12 years) and mustache (he had for 30 years!). I must say, he looked amazing! Then of course Carson had him "dressed to the 9's". Thom did an amazing job on the makeover of the den and dining room! Ted had them fix some kind of fish grilled in banana leaves. The family and guests loved it. It was so heart-warming to see how close this family is and how they just loved (especially his wife) his makeover. Their son from college was very nice looking too! Hope they air another episode on NBC soon (since I don't have Bravo). I know I'll have to buy the seasons of this show if/as they come out on dvd.

TUESDAY-November 25, 2003  Happy Birthday Ted! HRC Gay Marriage Ads!

  • Special News Alert- The HRC (Human Rights Campaign) ran it's first of a series of ads promoting Gay Marriage today in USA TODAY! They will include the gay famlies who sued (and won!) the state of Massachutes for the right to marry! They will also be running ads in the New York Times (national editon) and the Boston Globe. Be sure to get a copy. I've got mine! For more info on the ads or to donate funds and become part of this historical time go to HRC.
  • News- Lot to talk about today: First, Happy Birthday to my friend Ted G. who lives in Atlanta! Don't miss Queer Eye for the Straight Guy tonight on NBC at 8pm! The Next Joe Millionaire was actually really good last night. Here's the basics: David picked Linda from Germany for his final pick. After he told her that he was poor, she didn't show up for the final ceremony. They sent David back to Austin, Texas to this big ranch to start getting use to being a regular "poor" cowboy again. His horse, Norton was there. When he got to the ranch house, the butler, Paul Hogan, was there and had a letter that Linda had written him. Then Linda appears from the house. It's true love!! But then the butler comes out with a covered serving tray and Linda says, "Oh look, I wonder what food he has for us." But under the cover is a check for $250,000 for Linda. And then he hands David a deed to the ranch house and 90 acres where they are!! They say they are going to work on a relationship and that David wants Linda to live there with him. I'm sure we'll hear an update soon. The first Family Fear Factor was on last night and was very good. A little terrible rapping white boy and his father won a 7-day trip after slopping in pig lard and parts and a mother and her daughter won the $50,000 after a team physical stunt. On the Average Joe, Melana eliminated one of the "geeks" and one of the "hunks", just as I figured she would do, leaving 4 guys, the "average" Adam and Zach and the "hunks" Michael and Jason remain. I believe she is more superficial than she claims to be. I bet it will come down to Zach and Jason as the final two. Remember Zach is the a-hole "geek" who was considered the best looking of the average guys and Jason is one of the "hunks". I guess we'll find out soon enough. Next week is going to be good. Someone (I believe it's going to be Melana) is going to be dressed up in a "fat girl" suit and pose as Melana's cousin, I guess to find out more personal info or to see how superficial the guys are. Gonna be good!!

MONDAY-November 24, 2003

  • News- Watched Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo Dicaprio yesterday. I recommend seeing it. It was very good. It's based on a true story of this guy, Frank Abdangale, who runs away from home at age 16 and becomes a big con-artist. He pretends to be a PanAm pilot, a doctor, a lawyer, James Bond type guy, the whole time making and cashing fake checks and he got away with it for years, stealing about $5 million. There's a strange twist that happens at the end after he's caught but I won't give it away and remember, this is all true! Took those rentals back to the video store and checked out two more dvds. Got a thriller/horror movie called 28 Day Later and a sci-fi action movie called The Core. I'll let you know how they were after I watch them. Be sure to watch the special first time ever Family Fear Factor (parents and children) tonight and Average Joe. Also, the 2 hour finale of The Next Joe Millionaire is on tonight. Who's he gonna pick? Will she want him when she finds out that besides being dumb, he's poor?! And will they offer them $1 million, like they did the first Joe Millionaire and the woman he picked? We'll have to wait and see. I'll be recording it. Oprah's Favorite Things show was on today. Very heart-warming, exciting show. She gave away over $1.5 million in gifts to the audience!! Jimmy Kimmel made fun of it on his show tonight by giving away zip lock bags full of junk (Arby's sauce packets, headbands, etc...). Very funny.

FRIDAY-November 21, 2003  Happy Birthday Wallace!

  • News- Happy 32nd Birthday to my friend Wallace B. who lives in Atlanta! (you can see his picture in my photo gallerys) Hope you have a great day. Glad you enjoyed the card. Michael Jackson was booked and made bail after only 45 minutes. He returned to Las Vegas for now and is expected to be officialy charged with child molestation after Thanksgiving. Well, let's see, last night on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands, Burton, Jon and Lillian plotted against Rupert and it worked. In a surprise twist that shocked him and his allies, Christa and Sandra, 39 y/o Rupert Boneham, the troubled-teen mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, was voted off. I hated that because I wanted him to win. He deserved to win because he watched out for the tribe and fed the tribe. Seemed like a good person to me. The next episode of Survivor 7 airs on a special night, Wednesday, Nov. 26th because Thursday is Thanksgiving. Don't miss it! I'll have to see who I'm going to root for now.
  • Updates- Added a link to Find A Grave on my FAVORITE LINKS page and added a link to Brushstrokes, a gay book store in Atlanta, GA, on my GAY RESOURCES page in the Miscellaneous section.

THURSDAY-November 20, 2003  Happy Birthday Amber!

  • News- Happy Birthday to my niece Amber who turns 11 today! Well there's two big news stories today in the celebrity world anyway. The first of course is that Michael Jackson has been arrested for child molestation. He just surrendered to police a couple hours ago between 3 and 4 pm EST.  He is expected to be officialy charged after Thanksgiving. I hope he did not do what he's charged with and he IS innocent until proven guilty but I think there's a good chance it's true because there have been so many allegations over the years and they would not press criminal charges if they didn't have some kind of proof. If Michael Jackson is convicted of these charges he will more than likely be sentenced to a 3 to 8 year prison term for each count. The thing is, I just don't see him going to or being able to handle prison life. I'm afraid he may end up taking his own life if they find him guilty. I hope he doesn't. In my opinion, he should have come out of the closet along time ago and started having relationships (including sexual) with grown men instead of trying to keep it under cover and therefore having sexual relations with children thinking they would not tell. He should have stopped worrying about what people would think or say about him being gay. I mean why worry what people would say when they were already talking bad about him anyway. Oh, the second story which is basically being put on the back burner because of the M.J. thing is that record producer Phil Spectrum was finally charged with the murder of Lana Clarkson. They announced this just minutes before the "MJ Surrenders" story broke. Don't forget Survivor 7 is on tonight!

TUESDAY-November 18, 2003  Gay Marriage Ruling!

  • Special News Alert- Massachusetts is the first state in the nation to grant same-sex couples the right to a civil marriage. Taken from the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Press Release: The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that same- and opposite-sex couples must be given equal civil marriage rights under the state constitution. The ruling in Goodridge et al. v. Department of Public Health makes the state the first in the nation to grant same-sex couples the right to a civil marriage license. Ruling that civil marriage in Massachusetts means "the voluntary union of two persons as spouses, to the exclusion of all others," the Court allowed the Legislature 180 days to change the civil marriage statutes accordingly. For the full text of HRC's press release, please visit: www.hrc.org/newsreleases/2003/031118marriage.asp
  • News- Joe Millionaire is now down to two women. After last nights' 2 hour episode, they had brought one of the girls that he really liked (Linda) back to the show. After eliminations it's now down to Cat and Linda. Don't miss the two hour finale next Monday! (Thank God) On Average Joe, Melana had to eliminate 3 of the average joes. After all was said and done "better than everyone else" Zach still remained, along with Adam (my pick to win) and John. She elimnated Brad, Jerry and Tareq. All 3 of them appeared on the Today show this morning. The twist happened last night and, just as I suspected, they brought in 3 new men, Michael, Jason and Alex, who are suppose to be hunks. They aren't "all that" to me. So we'll see what happens next Monday.
  • Updates- Put the news about the Massachusetts Gay Marriage Ruling on my HOME page.

MONDAY-November 17, 2003

  • News- Took a trip to Atlanta with my friend Saturday and stayed the night there. On the way down we stopped at the Tanger Outlet center in Commerce, GA and did some shopping. In Atlanta, we visited a friend, Winston and called and talked to a couple others. Then we went to this Levi/Leather nightclub called The Atlanta Eagle and another bar called Burkharts. Then Sunday before we left, we did some shopping at this gay and lesbian bookstore there called Brushstrokes. A very nice place. Have shopped there for years. Had a great time and we returned home yesterday afternoon. If your gay and go to Atlanta you can find about all your looking for at Ansley Square shopping plaza off of Piedmont Avenue. About every business in the shopping plaza is a gay establishment. There is like 3 or 4 gay clubs, including Burkharts, Oscars and Colours and then there's the bookstore I mentioned above and a restaraunt. If you have any questions, just email me. Well, finally watched that movie Wrong Turn. It was very good. I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves horror movies. Took those movies back and checked out two more, including Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo Dicaprio. I'll let you know what I think of these movies after I've watched them. Also, I bought two new dvds; Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2. Watched Scary Movie last night and it was very good. Very funny. Can't wait to see part 2 and then check out and watch part 3.

FRIDAY-November 14, 2003

  • News- Survivor 7:Pearl Islands was good, as usual, last night. A bunch of the new tribe, Balboa, had talked of getting rid of Rupert but when it came time for the immunity challenge, no one tried to keep him from getting immunity and he won it. I don't know if they really don't want to get rid of him or if they are scared of him or maybe they just did the editing of the show to make it look like everyone wanted him gone. Anyway, at tribal council they voted off 31 y/o Ryan Opray, an electrician from Los Gatos, CA. Chowed down on the lasagna I made yesterday. Only a few pieces left now. May be going to Atlanta tomorrow just to get away for some fun. But not sure yet.
  • Updates- Added Thanksgiving picture and countdown to HOME page. Also added a small picture of the clock tower in downtown Simpsonville. Added two new links on my GAY RESOURCES page; one to the Bars/Nightclubs section and one to the HIV/AIDS section.

THURSDAY-November 13, 2003  Happy Birthday Troy!

  • News- Happy 39th Birthday to my brother-in-law Troy (Lisa's husband of 15 years)! I made a scrupmtous lasagna last night but didn't get to eat much of it because by the time I got all the ingredients and got it together and baked, it was around 10pm. Not that I need any, anyway. Watched the ELIZABETH Smart movie that I had recorded Monday. I put Elizabeth in capitals because I mentioned this movie on two of my previous update entries but was calling her Jennifer Smart for some reason. I've corrected the entries now. I think I was combining the title of her story with Jessica Lynch's. I guess that proves that nobody's reading my News/Updates cause I'm sure someone would have sent me an email letting me know my mistakes but I love journaling here and working on my site anyway. Kind of like a hobby and therapy combined. But anyway, the movie was very good and heart touching. It is definitely a blessing that she was found alive after so long.
  • Updates- Made some changes on my HOME, GAY RESOURCES, FAVORITE LINKS and NEWS/UPDATES pages. Some just simple subtle changes and some more noticable.

TUESDAY-November 11, 2003  Happy Veteran's Day!

  • News- Happy Veteran's Day! Be sure to take a moment to remember the Veterans that helped/are helping to keep our freedoms and fight for other countries' freedoms. On NBC's Average Joe, Melana eliminated 4 guys. I guess she was just trying to make herself look good last week. I believe she is more shallow than she claims because this week she got rid of all the overweight guys and Dennis, the handicapped guy (almost completely deaf and wears glasses). And she kept one of the best looking guys (physically only!) who is a total a-hole, Zach. He has said he is better than all the rest from the beginning and that he is too good to be there. But he did lighten up and even cried a little when Dennis got kicked off. Zach is the only one that Melana made out with on a date. She also, in my opinion, disrespected the other guys when she walked off with Zach to talk to him instead of watching one of the guys do the rock climbing on her "4 guys at a time" date. Suppose to be a twist coming soon. Maybe one of the overweight guys will come back and squash her! LOL. Got around to watching Joe Millionaire (that I had recorded) tonight; he is so country and really dense acting a lot of times. He bought one of the women an expensive necklace and then said, "I think she'd be just as satisfied if I were buying her a sno-cone back in Texas, cause if I were back in Texas, that's about all I could afford." Total Dork!! It will be 2 hours again next Monday. They were going to have it on Mondays and Tuesdays but the ratings are so bad that now their just running double episodes to hurry and get it over with. There is suppose to be a twist where one of the girls he got rid of comes back. Why?!! I believe that after next Monday there will only be 1 more episode left. Watched the movie The Hulk too. It was not that great. The special effects were cool, but they were too few and too far in between for such a long movie. It was basically kind of boring to me. My friend really hated it. He didn't even finish watching it. Hopefully the other movie, Wrong Turn, will be better. I'll give you my review on it after I watch it.
  • Updates- Added a few more links on my GAY RESOURCES page under the Bars/Nightclubs section.

MONDAY-November 10, 2003

  • News- President Bush is in Upstate SC today. In fact he just had a coversation meeting with the employees at the BMW Manufacturing plant in Greer, SC. That is where my roommate and friend works. They televised it live on the local stations here. Now President Bush is at a campaign dinner at the Palmetto Expo Center in Greenville, where the plates are only $2,000/person! In other news, the Jessica Lynch movie was good last night. I recorded the Elizabeth Smart movie so I'll have to watch it later. Also rented the movies The Hulk and Wrong Turn. I'll let you know how I liked them after I watch them. Tonight Fear Factor, a special 2 hour The Next Joe Millionaire and Average Joe are all on. I'll have to record Joe Millionaire. Don't forget tomorrow is Veteran's Day. If you can, check out your local memorial services and attend one.

SUNDAY-November 9, 2003  Happy Birthday Lisa!

  • News- Happy 39th Birthday to my sister Lisa!! This is your day. Celebrate! Tonight there are two good movies on and at the same time so you'll have to record one. There is Saving Jessica Lynch, NBC 9pm, which is the story of Jessica Lynch, the woman who was a P.O.W. just a few months back during the Iraq War. Then there is The Elizabeth Smart Story, CBS 9pm, which is the story of Elizabeth Smart, the girl who was kidnapped from her bedroom and then found alive 9 months later. After Veteran's Day, I'm thinking about turning that section of my HOME page into a "Joke of the Day" section and of course using it for other holidays, special events, etc... I'll let you know for sure in the near future. They found the two witnesses they were looking for in that quadruple homicide in Chesnee, SC (see Friday's posting). Turns out that they didn't witness anything and didn't know anything.

FRIDAY-November 7, 2003

  • News- 6 more American soldiers were killed today in Iraq when their helicopter was shot down and 2 more in separate incidents. That makes 31 soliders killed in these first 7 days of November. When's it gonna end?! Also, the Army was trying to convict a soilder for cowardice (being a coward) when he requested couseling after seeing an Iraqi who had been blown in half by American gunfire!! Can you believe that! And the charge of cowardice carries the death penalty with no minimum sentence possible!! Thankfully, they have reduced the charge, but if convicted of the lesser charge he would get a loss in pay and reduction in rank. What the #@*&!! In other news, yesterday afternoon another deadly shooting took place not far from where I live, in Chesnee, SC at Superbike Motorsports. All 4 people in the store were shot to death including the 30 y/o owner and his mother. For more info and the sketches of two possible witnesses (murders?) go to WYFF 4. This reminds me of the bank robbery that happened in Greenville about 6 months or so back that made National news and was on America's Most Wanted where all 3 people in the bank were shot dead. No witnesses. No one has been caught for that crime so far. Well last night on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands, Burton and Lill were voted back on. They ended up going to the same tribes they were voted off of and were given immunity at their first tribal council. Then in a surprise twist, the tribes merged, becoming one tribe. They named themselves Balboa, after Rupert's pet snake he found on the island. Now they are fighting for individual immunities. Burton won the immunity but at tribal council, since he already had immunity, he handed it over to Rupert since he came in second in the immunity challenge. They ended up voting off 40 y/o Andrew Savage from Chicago, IL, who was the leader of the Morgan Tribe.
  • Updates- Got rid of the Rock the Vote on my HOME page and replaced it with a tribute to the American Veterans. As you know, Veteran's Day is on Tuesday, November 11th. Pause to remember.

WEDNESDAY-November 4, 2003  Happy Birthday David III!

  • News- Happy Birthday to my nephew David III (the 3rd)(my sister Amanda's son)!! He turns 4 today. Now, just the opposite of that, I found out some sad news last night. One of my best friends, Von, who lives in Albany, GA, had a death in the family. Her fraternal twin brother Alfonzo died at the age of 46. He was in Albany visiting her and had went and laid down in her bed to sleep. He never woke up. He had epilepsy. His funeral is this Saturday. May God be with her and her family during their time of hurt.
  • More News-The U.S.S. Nemisis returned to port in CA today with around 5,000 soldiers who had been gone for 8 months. About 100 of them had babies they had never seen in person. I saw it live on the whacky news program Good Day Live today. I know their families were happy to see them. I bet there'll be a lot of beds rockin' in CA tonight!! LOL. Poll results from yesterdays' election are in. See my HOME page for the Upstate SC area results. For you sports fans, a Black College Basketball Tournament, the Greenville Historical Black Colleges and Universities Classic will be played on January 17, 2004 at Greenville High School's gymnasium. Since I had so much to write about yesterday, I waited to mention this until today, that Osten who just quit Survivor 7 was on David Letterman Monday night and he said he quit because he had lost 40 lbs and had gotten 5 staph infections in 19 days. Don't know if I can blame him for leaving if all that's true, but then again, don't know if I would pass up the chance to have  $1 million. I mean, it's not like they are going to let you die. I don't think the show would be back for another season! He also said that when the host, Jeff Probst, was being mean to him at tribal council that he said some harsh things back to Jeff but that they edited that out. Maybe it'll be on the dvd, if and when it comes out. By the way 56 y/o talk show host David Letterman and his girlfriend, Regina Lasko, had a baby boy Monday night. They named him Harry after David's father who died at age 57 from heart trouble. Fear Factor was cool last night. They had a 4th stunt where they gave away a 7 day/night trip to Brazil. They had to pick up those big roaches with their mouths and had to drink a cup of blended cow parts and lard and a cup of rotten milk. The one guy who won did it all in like 1 minute and 9 seconds. Another new episode of Smallville is on tonight on the WB.
  • Updates- Posted poll results from yesterdays' election on my HOME page and changed the music to the U.S. National Anthem, in honor of the election and mainly for the upcoming Veteran's Day on November 11th. Changed the music on this page to the beautiful song "Rain" by my favorite singer, Madonna.

TUESDAY-November 4, 2003  ELECTION DAY

  • News- Tons of news, where to start? Well, it's Election Day so if your registered to vote and there's an election in your area, go vote! I have a list of races and issues and a link to Poll locations in my area on my HOME page. Another American soldier was killed in Iraq yesterday. James Robert Kennedy's, also known as "Radio" (yes, the real guy potrayed by Cuba Gooding, Jr in the movie), families' house burned on Sunday. It started at a fuse box in Radio's room. He was the first one up and got the rest of his family up and out of the house. They lost about everything. They are getting a lot of support from the Anderson and surronding communities and probably from nationwide. Like I stated in an earlier update, Anderson, SC is only about 25 miles from where I live. An account has been set up in Radio's name with the Bank of Anderson. Persons wishing to donate can call 864-224-3777. I started a new group on the Tickle Social Network (Emode) called SC Gay Men, Lesbians, Bisexuals for people in and around SC to greet and meet new friends, lovers or start long-term relationships. Also to discuss gay and world issues. Once you click on the link and see the group page, you need to Sign In by either clicking on the link in the upper right hand corner of the page or clicking on the "JOIN" Group button. Then if your already a member of Emode or Tickle Social Network, just sign in with your username and password. If your not already a member, click on the "Create A New Account" link that is also on the Sign In page. Either way, once you sign in you will be returned to my group and then if you used the "Sign In" link, you'll now need to hit the "JOIN" Group button to join my group. There are tons of other groups and members on this site. Fear Factor was good last night, except for it was an all women episode, LOL. Another new episode is on tonight. Don't miss it! They'll be drinking rotten milk! David Smith, The Next Joe Millionaire, eliminated 3 girls last night, including Linda from the Czech Republic, a woman he liked but she asked to be eliminated because she couldn't handle the other women's pressure. Well another would be good match gone. Down to 8 women now. The new series Average Joe on NBC was good. A lot of parts were funny too. This is the series with the overweight, nerdy and/or geeky guys. One guy, Zach, thinks he's too good to be on there and is basically an a-hole! Melana eliminated 4 men last night, leaving 12. None of them were the ones I expected she would get rid of. I thought she'd eliminate all the overweight guys first. Maybe she really is in it to meet someone for their personality. There's suppose to be another twist soon. I believe they are going to have some hot, hunky guys come in to compete. I hope not. But then again if they do and she still picks an "average" guy that would be cool too. We'll see.
  • Updates- Did some more organizing of my GAY RESOURCES page and added a link to my new group on the Emode/Tickle Social Network called SC Gay Men, Lesbians, Bisexuals. Got rid of the Halloween stuff and music from my pages. Put a "Rock the Vote" paragraph on my HOME page which will be there just for the day. Plan on replacing it with a Veteran's Day Memorial in the next couple days. Also, making the daily news/updates writing on this page bigger so it's easier to read. Then when I add new news, I will convert the old news to this smaller size text.

SUNDAY-November 2, 2003

  • News- 16 more U.S. soldiers were killed in Iraq today when rebels shot down a Chinook helicopter with a land to air missle launched by a hand-held rocket launcher. These soldiers were on leave and just getting ready to head home. Sad! Very sad! This is the most soldiers to die at one time since the "end" of the war. Don't forget Veteran's Day is November 11th. Now on a lighter side, my personal weekend went basically uneventful. I haven't been out to the clubs or drank any alcohol in over a month now! And no, I'm not an alcoholic and not staying away for any paticular reason. Just haven't felt like going out lately, and well, need a break from all the drama that goes on there too. I'm sure it'll hit me like a lightning bolt and I'll be back out. I watched the Stephen King dvd movie "Dreamcatcher" today. It was decent. Had some cool special effects anyway. Also watched the TV show American Dreams. It was great, as usual. Is JJ going to Vietnam? Is Will going to have the surgery to relieve his polo? Is Meg going to loose her virginity? Stay tuned on Sunday nights on NBC to find out.
  • Updates- Did a total makeover on my GAY RESOURCES page. I categorized and alphabetized the links to the different gay resources so it will be easier to find what your looking for. The categories are: "Bars/Nightclubs", "Chat, Personals, News", "HIV/AIDS", "Organizations/Foundations" and "Miscellaneous" (which will have products, clubs (not nightclubs), etc...). There is a category list at the top of the page, just click on the category you want and jump right to it. Hope this reorganization helps. I also added a link to amfAR (AIDS research) to the HIV/AIDS section on that page.

FRIDAY-October 31, 2003     HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

  • News- Ghoul-d Day! Happy Halloween! To get the sh*t scared out of you, turn up your speakers (to hear the ghost's murmurs) and stare at this picture for about 30-40 seconds, watching for the ghost to appear. WARNING! Not for the faint of heart! SORRY! Apparently there has been so many people viewing the site with the scary picture that it has exceeded it's bandwith limit. Depending on whether they have a daily or monthly limit you should be able to view it tomorrow. So visit here tomorrow or write down this web address: home.attibi.com/~n9ivo/whatswrong.swf  Now for today's news; First, on a serious note, take a look at the 409 American and coalition solider casualties in Iraq since the beginning of the war as of today in this CNN Special Report. Can you believe there has been more lost since the "official end" of the war compared to the battle itself! What a shame! Now on a lighter note, Survivor 7:Pearl Islands was very good last night. The voted off suvivors came back and formed a tribe called "The Outcasts". And they came back with a vengance too! They participated in an immunity challenge in which they won so then Drake and Morgan tribes both had to vote someone off. The voted off person of each tribe will be replaced by a member of the Outcasts tribe, which will be voted back on the island by the members of The Outcasts tribe. The "vote on" will happen next Thursday night so don't miss it! The rest of the Outcasts tribe will go home. Drake voted off 28 y/o Shawn Cohen originally from New York City, NY but now living in Hollywood, CA. Morgan voted off  27 y/o Osten Taylor who lives in Boston. Osten asked to be voted off, basically for the 2nd time and this time they granted him his wish. He tried to say he wanted to go because his body was giving in but he looked to have one of the healthiest bodies of anyone still. Plus it was only day 5 or 6 the first time he wanted to leave. I think he thought it was going to be like a big party and when he found out it wasn't, he wanted to go home. He's going to be remembered as a big whimp and just plain stupid for giving up the chance to win $1 million!

THURSDAY-October 30, 2003

  • News- Don't miss Survivor 7:Pearl Islands tonight. It's gonna be good. The twist is that the people that have already been voted off will be back with their own little tribe. Exciting! But it's a two part episode so you can bet the best parts will probably be next week! LOL. I'll be telling you what happens tonight in tomorrow's update. Want to share one more note on Matthew Shepard that I found out from the M.S. Foundation website. A bunch of people were wanting to know where Matthew's gravesite is so that they can leave flowers, etc as a memorial but only the family knows where it is to keep it protected from gay hating people who might vandalize it. But if your ever in Casper, WY there is a memorial set up to him and other victims of hate called "The Ring of Peace" on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church on the corner of Beech and 2nd streets. All are welcome to visit.

WEDNESDAY-October 29, 2003

  • SPECIAL News- I have to talk about this serious subject. It is about Matthew Wayne Shepard, the 21 year old gay man that was murdered just because he was gay, for being WHO HE WAS, in Laramie, WY five years ago on Oct. 12th, 1998. I was appalled last night when I saw on the national news that the idiotic "religious" group that had total disrespect and disregard for Matthew Shepard, his family and friends five years ago at Matthew's funeral by protesting, now want to erect a nasty hateful memorial in a public park in Casper, WY that says "Matthew Shepard has been in hell for 5 years." They were out holding signs yesterday that said such things as "God Hates Fags" and "Matthew Shepard-5 years in hell". Do these people really think that God HATES? The God I was raised to know and love from the Bible is a merciful, loving God. Even if you believe homosexuality is wrong, do you really think God wants you to show such hate and disrespect for people's lives, the same lives that God created? I wonder, they hate homosexuality so much, what about MURDER of another God-created human being? Didn't they see that part in the Bible? Maybe one day these people will wake up and get a clue. In the meantime, shame on them for promoting hate! May they feel guilt in their hearts and feel responsible everytime a gay person is bashed or murdered because of their words and actions. I'm adding the Memorial site owned by Matthew's mother, Judy, to my FAVORITE LINKS page. Visit Matthew's Place. Be sure to leave a memorial comment to him in the guestbook, I did. I am also adding a link to the foundation started by Matthew's parents, Judy and Dennis, to try and stop anti-gay hate crimes from happening to anyone else to my GAY RESOURCES page. Vist the Matthew Shepard Foundation.  Also for more on the death of Matthew Shepard and others that were victims of gay hate crimes, such as JR Warren, Brandon Teena, PFC Barry Winchell and Danny Overstreet, plus info about Hate Crime Legislation, etc... visit Hatecrime.org. A great site indeed!
  • News- Rod Roddy, famous for "Come on down, your the next contestant on The Price Is Right.", died this past Monday, Oct. 27th at the age of 66. He had battled colon and breast cancer in the past and had been hospitalized for 2 months prior to his death. He was host on The Price Is Right game show for 17 years! Watched the dvd movie "Antwone Fisher" with Denzel Washington last night. Very good. Very touching. If you haven't already, see it. Also recorded and watched The Next Joe Millionaire. He eliminated 2 more women. I think he made a mistake eliminating Teresa, she seemed to be about the only genuine one to me. I couldn't believe he compared Pisa, Italy (famous leaning tower of Pisa) to a What-A-Burger restraunt in Texas!! Damn, this boy is COUNTRY!! I just don't see him with a sophisticated, exotic European woman. And the way these women are, he may get more than he bargained for when he tells them that he is poor. Some of them look like they'd kick his ass!! LOL. Don't forget it is on Mondays and Tuesdays. I think they are trying to hurry and get it over with since it has gotten such bad ratings.
  • Updates- Added a link to the Matthew Shepard Memorial site owned by his mother to my FAVORITE LINKS page. Added  links to the Matthew Shepard Foundation and Hatecrime.org to my GAY RESOURCES page.

TUESDAY-October 28, 2003

  • News- The Halloween Fear Factor was good...cow eyes, pig hearts, snakes, bugs and a girl comes out on top! Next week there will be two new episodes, one on Monday and one on Tuesday at 8pm. I recorded and watched The Next Joe Millionaire. He eliminated 3 girls so now it's down to 11. The buzz is that the ratings are so low for this Joe Millionaire that they may pull it before the season ends!! I think (besides it being up against new episodes of Fear Factor) it's because the women are all European. Some of them are hard to understand and most of them seem stuck up. They seem too exotic for a country cowboy from Texas. One things for sure, it won't be back for another season. I also watched the new series Skin on FOX again. Great show. Starting next Monday on NBC will be a new reality show called Average Joe. This should be good. They trick a beautiful model-type girl (former cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs), Melana Scantlin from Gladstone, Missouri, into thinking she is going to meet 16 hunks to try and find true love with one of them. Psyche!! When she meets them, they are all just average guys! Some overweight, some nerdy, etc... Yeah!! It's about time! My kind of show! NBC has already filmed a second season of the show (before the first season even starts) because they believe it is going to do well and wanted to keep what happened to Joe Millionaire from happening to this show. Basically, they had to do Joe Millionaire in another country because they couldn't find any more American women to trick.
  • Updates- Added a link to the new reality show Average Joe to the Reality Show Links section above. I added 4 new photos to the PHOTO GALLERY 2 page.

MONDAY-October 27, 2003

  • News- Well the weekend went by basically uneventful here. A lot more bombing in Iraq though. A couple of Americans killed a hotel was hit with rockets and then a bombing using an ambulance killed like 10 Iraqies this morning. When will it end? Soon hopefully. Watched the new series on FOX called "Skin" last night. It was very good but don't know if I'll watch it regularly or not. A new episode comes on tonight. So does the special Halloween Fear Factor episode. Also watched the movie "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson on CBS. Pretty funny. It was announced today that my favorite music artist, Madonna, is releasing a new album called Remixed and Revisited on November 25th. It will have remixes including the live Like A Virgin/Hollywood mix with Brittany Spears and Christina Aguilera from this years Video Music Awards. Plus the version of Hollywood/Into The Groove mix with Missy Elliott from the Gap commercial. And other remixes from the American Life album plus a previously unreleased track called "Your Honesty" held over from the Bedtime Stories album.

SATURDAY-October 25, 2003

  • News- Time to Fall Back! Set your clocks back 1 hour tonight before you go to bed! Stayed home, ordered some Papa John's pizza and watched the movie Boat Trip (the unrated version) with Cuba Gooding, Jr. on dvd. There were some hilarious parts and in whole would say it was a decent movie. Since they were on a gay cruise they could have shown more men naked instead of all those women's breasts. LOL. But they did show Cuba's ass and showed him in a jock. HOT! (that alone makes it worth seeing) Don't miss Cuba in his latest movie, Radio, which opened in theaters yesterday. It's a true story about a black man, James "Radio" Kennedy, who has mental disabilities and who is illiterate and at the age of 17 back in 1963 takes part in and takes the heart of a football team and it's coach (and the whole school and town) at T.L. Hanna High school in Anderson, SC, which is only about 25 miles from where I live!! They premiered the movie in Anderson last night. Cuba and the real Radio we're both there. Radio rode in the front seat with the limo driver instead of in the back. Radio still lives in Anderson and at the age of 57 still attends the high school every day. Read about and see the real Radio by clicking here.

FRIDAY-October 24, 2003

  • News- Happy Birthday to my nephew Daniel in Dawson, GA!! He turns 15 today. Man, I'm feelin' old!! LOL. Well, last night on Survivor 7:Pearl Islands the Drake tribe won the reward challenge and got some food to grill, including steaks and lobster,  and the equipment to grill with. When Jon went to raid the Morgan tribe he revealed that the Drake tribe had thrown the last immunity challenge. Andrew got mad and said Jon was lying and called him a piss-ant (not to his face). Anyway, Drake lost the immunity challenge and ended up voting off 42 y/o Trish Dunn from Annapolis, Maryland. Some were conspiring to get rid of Rupert but failed and he's angry. Next week is going to be good.

TUESDAY-October 21, 2003

  • News- Fear Factor was an eye popping experience last night, cow eyes that is! Yummy!! Don't miss the Halloween Fear Factor next Monday right before the Radio Music Awards show which should be jammin' as well. The new Joe Millionaire, David Smith, is a really hot guy and he's got some hot women to choose from. Starting next week on Oct. 27, Joe Millionaire will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. Rented 3 dvds on Sunday. Watched the dvd movie "Identity" with John Cusak last night. That was a great thriller with a wild twist at the end. Also checked out and watched "Gacy", which is the true account of John Wayne Gacy, a 1970's gay serial killer in the Chicago, IL area. It was good too. Still have to watch Boat Trip with Cuba Gooding, Jr.
  • Updates- Added a link to my September 11th Memorial, which is located in my September News & Updates section, to the section at the top of this page.

MONDAY-October 20, 2003

  • News- Don't miss the premiere of "The Next Joe Millionaire" tonight at 8pm on FOX. This time the "millionaire" is from Texas. He's 24 y/o David Smith, a poor cowboy they found at a rodeo. He's pretty hot though! He travels to Italy to fool 14 European women into thinking he has inherited 80 million dollars. The golddiggers are gonna go wild!!  It comes on the same time as Fear Factor so you'll have to record one or if you can't or don't want to, I recommend watching Fear Factor which is suppose to have some good gross stuff on there tonight!!
  • Updates- Added a link to "The Next Joe Millionaire" above in the Reality Shows & News Programs section.

SATURDAY-October 18, 2003

  • News- Over 200,000 people have signed the Million For Marriage petition to give equal marriage rights to gay couples. I signed, have you? If not, do it now.
  • Updates- Added plenty more photos to the PHOTO GALLERY 2 page. Also added links to the bottom of that page to get to other pages and to the chat area.

FRIDAY-October 17, 2003

  • News- Happy Birthday to my friend and roommate Stephan who turns 42 today! Survivor 7:Pearl Islands was good again last night. The tables have turned and now Drake has lost 3 challenges in a row (including the one they threw, the idiots!) Drake had to go to tribal council where they voted off 21 y/o Michelle Tesauro from Pittstown, NJ.

THURSDAY-October 16, 2003

  • News- Happy Birthday to my friend Kelly, the bartender at The Castle! I'll let her tell you her age. You can see her picture in the PHOTO GALLERY. I've been watching this new series on CBS called The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire (a non-reality show, can you believe it?) and it's pretty good. Last night it was about the main characters' priest "coming out" as gay to the church. It's on Wednesday nights at 10:00pm.
  • Updates- I've been very busy today! Changed the picture on the HOME page to one of my whole family. Added a picture and changed the text on the PHOTO GALLERY page. Added another photo gallery, PHOTO GALLERY 2, with miscellaneous pictures. I'll be adding more pictures to that page soon.

TUESDAY-October 14, 2003

  • News- Well by the anti-gay people and President Bush this week, the 12th-18th, is being called "Marriage Protection Week" and by me and the rest of the gay community it is being called "Marriage Equality Week". Thanks to a friend for the info about Equality Week. It's official, Arnold Schwaganegger IS the new Govenor of California. I'll Be Back!

SATURDAY-October 11, 2003

  • News- It's here!! Today is NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY! So all you that are hiding in the closet, come on out! See my GAY RESOURCES page or EMAIL ME for support. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was really good last night. Wish they'd put it on NBC permanetly.
  • Updates- Added a link to Out In Greenville and Out In America to my GAY RESOURCES page. Also, added a link to my chat room entitled "New Friends".

Click here to go to my chat room or any other Out In America chat room:

FRIDAY-October 10, 2003

  • News- Today is my father's 59th birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!

THURSDAY-October 9, 2003

  • News- Survivor 7: Pearl Islands was good again tonight. Two guys from the Morgan tribe, including their "leader" Andrew got lost and one member, Osten, thought he was about to drown during the reward challenge. The Drake tribe, after winning 6 challenges in a row, decided to throw the immunity challenge so they could vote someone off (a stupid idea to me, especially since the host, Jeff, had told them beforehand that there was an extra something special for the winner). That extra thing turned out to be that the tribe that won, Morgan, got to pick one of Drake's tribe members to live with them up to and then help compete in the next reward challenge. They chose the strongest, Rupert (one of my favorites right now). Drake tribe voted out 31 y/o Burton Roberts from San Francisco, CA at tribal council.
  • Updates- Added my Hot or Not rating (along with the picture) to the bottom of the FAVORITE LINKS page. Be sure to rate me! The rating changes and updates automatically. Added dates that the reality shows are mentioned in my monthly Updates/News to the "Reality Show & News" section above.

WEDNESDAY-October 8, 2003

  • News- Well, looks like Arnold Schwazenegger is the newly elected govenor of Cali-forn-ya (though they say it will be several days for the "official" count) and the whole Recall thing is done! (well, for now anyway). Don't miss the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy marathon on Bravo starting at 8pm this Friday night. They'll be running 5 episodes in a row! So if you missed any, now's the time to catch up. And for us that don't have cable, NBC (which owns Bravo) is running a new episode this Friday night at 8pm also. Yeah! One more thing, Roy Horn from the Siegfried & Roy show is still in critical condition but has improved greatly. Siegfried said that he gave the "V", for victory, sign and can move his hands and feet. He also said that the show WILL continue!

TUESDAY-October 7, 2003

  • News- National Coming Out Day is almost here..only 4 days to go. I'm suppose to be going to Six Flags in Atlanta this weekend. Should be fun. My friend and I have been invited to a Halloween party at my friend Winston's place in Atlanta on Friday, the 31st. Should be a wild and crazy time. I probably won't wear a costume but Winston said he was going to have extra masks available.
  • Updates- Added some new info in the More About Me section of the HOME page. Also added a link enabling you to jump right from the About Me section to the More About Me section on the HOME page.

MONDAY-October 6, 2003

  • News- Don't miss the Fab 5 from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Jillian Barberie on the sitcom Good Morning, Miami that airs this Tuesday at 9:30pm on NBC.
  • Updates- Added more pictures of the 2003 Atlanta Gay Pride (some I had in my photo album but didn't have saved on CD) to the WEBSALBUM. Takes about 30 seconds or so to load, then just hit the START SLIDESHOW button and enjoy!! You can click on a picture to see it up close too.

SUNDAY-October 5, 2003

  • News- This weekend basically went uneventful except for the mauling of Roy Horn, from the famous magician act Siegfried & Roy, by one of the white bengal tigers in the act yesterday. As of today he is in critical but stable condition. All of their shows were cancelled indefinitely. Never seen their show but heard tons of jokes about them from Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

FRIDAY-October 3, 2003

  • News- At a press conference yesterday in Washington, D.C., the Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, Focus on the Family and representatives from over 20 other ultra-conservative, anti-gay organizations announced that President Bush has officially declared Oct. 12-18 as "Marriage Protection Week". One of the coalition's goals is to build support for a Constitutional amendment to permanently deny civil marriage to same-sex couples. Please join the Human Rights Campaign in urging President Bush not to endorse this politically motivated, mean-spirited attack on gay families. Go to the HRC ActionCenter to send President Bush an email.
  • Updates- Added links to news programs that I like (e.g. Dateline NBC) to the Reality Show Links section above.

 THURSDAY-October 2, 2003

  • News- Kelly Ripa from the Live with Regis and Kelly show turns 33 today! Happy Birthday Kelly! Survivor 7 was good again tonight. The Morgan tribe has lost 5 challenges in a row (2 reward and 3 immunity) and therefore had to vote off a 3rd tribe member. Tonight it was the 51 year old Boy Scout Troop leader from Ohio, Lillian "Lil" Morris. From the website previews, looks like a very exciting show next Thursday! Tune in to see.
  • Updates- Added a new section to this page which contains links to the shows I talk about in my news and updates so that I don't have to make the same links over and over again. Also have the National Networks and my Local Network News Stations. So when I talk about a reality show and you want to check out it's website for yourself, go to the new Reality Show Links page. There will also be links to that section in different places so you can jump right to it.

WEDNESDAY-October 1, 2003

  • News- The 2 hour Finale of FOX's Paradise Hotel was tonight. With all the twists, the main one being that the people who were voted out came back to make the final decision, Keith and Charla ended up being the winners of $250,000 each but then had a chance to split it with the people that were their roommates, Dave and Tara. Keith chose to split his with Tara but Charla chose not to split her's with Dave!! I couldn't believe it. If it wasn't for Dave, she would have NEVER gotten as far as she did. All she did was stay in the room and be anti-social while Dave did all the work to keep them in the game. I wanted Dave and Charla to win for the longest time but have to say I don't too much care for Charla now. It was obvious that Charla has never really cared about Dave and basically just used him. After the show, she claims she plans to give Dave SOME of the money after discussing it with her family. I bet she never sees or talks to Dave again!! Well, the season premiere of The WB's Smallville was tonight also. It started out with a bang as usual. This show is kind of off the wall and unbelievable at times but you have to remember it is based on the comic book character Superman and that is why I like this non-reality show so much.
  • Updates- New link added to the GAY RESOURCES page for InsightOut Books, a gay and lesbian book club. Added a timer that countsdown to my birthday on the HOME page in the "1966" section.

September's Latest News and Updates:

MONDAY-September 29, 2003

  • News- Happy Birthday to my friend Candi who lives in Camilla, GA!! Well FOX's Temptation Island 3 is over and oh what an ending. Melissa kicked Michael to the curb (good going!) and is now trying to make it to Miami to see Jerome. Stephanie and Anthony went their separate ways. I hated to see that, I wanted them to stay together but Stephanie has already moved in with the guy she met there, Jeff!! Anthony is dating Ashley. Of course Eric and Kristin stayed together. (If you watched the show, you'll know why I say "of course") Jason and Kara had separated but have since got back together. Yeah! Got to mention that NBC's Fear Factor is another reality favorite of mine. Those African cave spiders were too creepy looking and they had to eat them!! For all the latest news on any of the reality shows, go to Reality TV Planet. Amazing Race has finally been given the OK by CBS for season 5!! It should after winning an Emmy on Sept. 21st. They're saying this season will surprise all the regular viewers of the show. It's time for some new twists and turns!
  • Updates- Finally finished adding all the pictures of the 2003 Atlanta Gay Pride that I had to my WEBSALBUM. The parade was a lot longer but I ran out of film unfortunately. Easiest to let the pictures load (takes about 30 seconds) and then hit the START SLIDESHOW button. Enjoy! Check out my favorite game show: Who Wants to be a Millionaire? with Meredith Vieria where you can play an online version, get tickets and find out about auditions for the show. Adding this link to my FAVORITE LINKS page too.

SUNDAY-September 28, 2003

  • News- The first Black woman professional tennis player, Althea Gibson, who also was the first Black woman to win Wimbeldon and the U.S. National titles back in the 1950's died at the age of 76 from respiratory failure in a hospital in New Jersey. She was born in Silver, SC. She also had a professional golf career back in 1964. Click on her name to check out her website with all the interesting facts. The American Dreams' season premiere was on tonight. Kelly Clarkson was great. Great show.
  • Updates- As you've probably noticed by now if your reading this, I've added a "flash" intro to my site. Make sure you have your speakers' volume turned up. If you don't wish to view the Intro and want to go directly to my HOME page, all you have to do is click on the "Skip Intro" link that's in yellow underneath the flash movie, otherwise click on "ENTER" when the movie finishes. Go to Macromedia to download the latest version of the Flash Player. If you ever have any trouble with my website as far as links or technical problems, please contact me. This site is viewed best with IE 5.0+ and is graphic intense on some pages, making them load slower. Please be patient and remember that this is usually just on your first visit as the pages will load much faster on your next visit as long as you have not deleted your temporary Internet files. Look for more new and exciting changes to my site. Hope your enjoying it cause I've put a lot of hard work into it. If you have any suggestions, go to the SUGGESTIONS page and send 'em.

SATURDAY-September 27, 2003

  • Updates- In the process of adding links to the pages so that you can easily jump to the top, the main menu or from one section to another on that same page. Slowly but surely I'm learning more and more HTML and therefore can make my site easier to get around on and more interesting. I've finished adding these links to the HOME page and have added one at the bottom of this section. Starting in October, I will have links at the top and bottom of this page so that you can jump to whichever month your desiring to see the News/Updates from. To learn about HTML go to this site: W3Schools. This is the site that I'm taking my lessons from. It's great and it's free!

FRIDAY-September 26, 2003

  • News- British singer Robert Palmer (54) died today of a heart attack in Paris. He was born January 19, 1949. He was big in the '80s with such singles as "Addicted to Love". Loved his music. Very sad. On a happier note, Happy Birthday to Jillian Barberie who was born on this day in 1966 (my favorite year) and therefore turns 37 today! You might know this supermodel from such shows as Fox's Extreme Dating, the NFL Pre-Game Show and my favorite, the wild and crazy live news program, Good Day Live.

THURSDAY-September 25, 2003

  • News- A major earthquake registering 8.0 on the richter scale struck the island of Hokkaido, part of Japan. It was followed by aftershocks registering 7.0, a major earthquake in itself, and major waves called tsunamis. No deaths reported, 240 injured. On the lighter side, Skinny Ryan Shoulders, 23, from Clarksville, TN was voted off of CBS's Survivor 7. He was part of the Morgan tribe. Fox's Temptation Island 3 is getting good! The Finale is next Monday, Sept. 29th. I'll be surprised if any of the couples stay together. Melissa definitely needs to leave Michael. I have a feeling Temptation Island won't be back for another season though. Also, don't forget that the new season of NBC's American Dreams starts this Sunday, Sept. 28th. Kelly Clarkson guest stars as singer Brenda Lee. This is one of the few non-reality shows that I like. About the only other non-reality show I really like is The WB's Smallville, which is basically about Superman when he was a teenager, before he became THE Superman. The new season starts next Wednesday, Oct. 1st. I'm a reality show freak but keep this in mind, I don't have cable and haven't had it for going on 2 years now. I am lucky enough to get all the network channels though! So it's all network for me; NBC, CBS, ABC, UPN, FOX and the WB.
  • Updates- Added the day of the week along with the date on this page. Added some more info on the HOME page, "1966" section. Added a new link to HRC's National Coming Out Project on the GAY RESOURCES page. October 11th is National Coming Out Day! So if your still in the closet, now's the time to jump out running!!

WEDNESDAY-September 24, 2003

  • News- Autumn is here! Jun Song won the $500,000 on CBS's Big Brother 4 by a vote of 6-1. If it had to be one of those two, I'm glad it was Jun but Alison Irwin did win $50,000 for 2nd place. Sharon Youngblood won $220,000 on Fox's Performing As... She performed as Aretha Franklin and did a great job!
  • Updates- On the HOME page I added a new section all about the year I was born, 1966 and added my "Rate Me" picture that's on Hot or Not at the bottom of that page. Did some rearranging on this page to make it easier to add updates and news by the month and easier for you to find and differentiate between what's News and what's Updates.

TUESDAY-September 23, 2003

  • Updates- Added music to this page and new music to the HOME page. Take My Breath Away by Berlin on this page and In Da Club by 50 Cent (fitte' cent) on the HOME page. Just like on the HOME page, to stop the music, either hit the square "stop" button at the lower left hand corner of this page or turn down the volume on your speakers. It only takes a few extra seconds for the music to load on your first visit but should load immediately when returning. Well worth the wait!

MONDAY-September 22, 2003

  • News- Paradise Hotel on Fox was great tonight. Whiny ass Amy finally got voted off!! Yeah! She was cool in the beginning but her and Zack both need to get lives! Don't miss the season finale on Wednesday, Oct. 1st! I'm behind Dave and Charla all the way. My second choice to win would be Keith and Tara. But who knows there is suppose to be one more major twist in the finale!

FRIDAY-September 19, 2003

  • News- The new Survivor series is slammin'. Better than all the rest. Four guys got naked already!! There are two tribes, Drake and Morgan. 24 year old Nicole Delma from the Morgan tribe was the first to be voted off. She resides in Hermosa Beach, CA.

He had played the lead character in a movie about this conditon some years back. Also, singer Johnny Cash (71) died of complications due to Diabetes. Very sad. F.Y.I.:Both of my parents have Diabetes.

Also added music to just the HOME page (to stop the music, hit the little square STOP button located at the bottom left hand side of the page or turn the volume on your speakers down). Added another link to the FAVORITE LINKS page. Added photos to the My Family & the My Friends sections of the PHOTO GALLERY.

THURSDAY-September 11, 2003

  • News- Always remember the victims and heros that lost their lives on this day 2 years ago. Also, keep in mind the heros that are still here and the families and friends of the lost loved ones. I watched the news coverage on NBC's Today show. It was so sad with the children, who all had lost someone on Sep. 11th, reading the names of the victims. They had 4 moments of silence for when the airplanes hit and when the towers fell. Visit the following sites for memorials, information, etc...about the Sept. 11th tragedy (these sites will stay listed on this page as long as they are available):

ALWAYS REMEMBER THE VICTIMS & HEROS OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Wikipedia- Memorials, tributes, and info

CNN- List of all who were lost

September 11th Memorial- Official site. Memorials by lost one's name

Hallmark- Free Sept. 11th cards to remind people about or to comfort the lost one's families or friends

WhuzupGod Memorial- Very nice, religious like memorial (a short film that takes about 2 minutes or so to load)

Can't Cry Hard Enough- Another great memorial to those lost

TUESDAY-September 9, 2003

  • News- My site is still under construction but is basically finished. I just mainly have to add more pictures to the photo gallery. I'll probably add a second photo gallery so that the pages will load faster. If you come across any dead links (hyperlinks that do not work) or find a site is no longer available, please contact me. Thanks.
