ALERT: Be Sure to keep your Microsoft Windows Operating System UpdatedLatest News... Microsoft has released the Release Candidate of their new Operating System, Windows 7! I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's great! This is the Ultimate Version (most expensive). You can download it for free from Microsoft here. The free download will be available through July 2009. It will expire in June 2010 (but will start shutting down every 2 hours in March 2010 as a reminder) and then you'll either have to purchase Windows 7 or go back to your old Operating System. Be sure to read all download and installation instructions and system requirements beforehand. You can't use Windows Mail with Windows 7 so if you are, you'll need to make sure you have another email program. I use the free Incredimail now. It automatically transferred my emails from Windows Mail. Windows Movie Maker, Photo Gallery and other Microsoft programs will no longer be with Microsoft's Windows 7 and any future operating systems. They want to concentrate more on the operating system. But you can download a package from Windows Live that includes all these programs. Also, make sure all your firmware and hardware is updated before installing Windows 7. Be sure to keep your system up to date (turn on Automatic Updates for Windows and other Microsoft Products) to avoid security risks and to help your system operate better.

Be sure to visit all my pages listed in the Navigation Menu at the top right-hand of each page. Go to the NEWS/UPDATES page for my blog archives before I started using Windows Live Space to blog. This site best viewed with IE 6+ (800X600 or higher resolution).

This section updated in June 2009

Hi, my name is Kenny. That's a picture of me with my family above. I'm a 42 year-young guy who now lives back in Albany, Georgia after living in Simpsonville, SC for over 5 years with my now ex-partner. Though I'm now 42, I look younger than that and definitely feel and act much younger than that in mind and spirit. I'm 6'1" tall, have blue eyes and a shaved bald head. But my life started long before today, back when I was born a 10lb 4oz baby boy in Metropolis, IL, home of Superman, on July 14, 1966. I was named after my dad and therefore I am a Junior. My immediate family consists of myself, my Mom and Dad, and my three sisters, Lisa, Michelle and Amanda. Lisa is my older sister, born in 1964. Michelle, born in 1971, and Amanda, born in 1975, are both younger. We all lived in the Chicago, IL area, including the towns of Romeoville and Joliet, until 1979 when my father transferred with his job at General Motors to Albany, GA. He is now retired from GM and my parents still reside in Albany to this date. My sisters Lisa and Michelle have both been married over 20 years now. Michelle and her husband David live in Lee County, GA with their son Brandon, 17. Their daughter Brittany, 20, is now married to Steven (SJ) and has two children, Stevan Blaine (Van, born 10/30/06) and Serenity Jade (born 11/20/07), and they all live in Camilla, GA. Tragically Michelle and David's 13 y/o son Blaine was killed in an ATV accident on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2003. Michelle works at our brother-in-law Troy's insurance business and David was recently laid off (June 2009) from a major tire manufacturing company. My sister Lisa lives in Dawson, GA with her husband Troy and their two children, Daniel, 19 and Amber, 16. Troy owns his own insurance business and Lisa is now a stay-at-home mom that helps Troy out with his business from time to time. My sister Amanda and her husband David II, divorced, and then got back together about 6 months later and have been together for over 10 years now. They live in Lee County, GA also with their two children Courtney, 13 and David III, 9. Amanda is currently working at a local dry cleaners. Her husband David II is a diesel engine mechanic that works for a company on the Marine Base in Albany, GA. My sisters Lisa & Michelle and I all went to Mitchell-Baker schools in Camilla, GA. I graduated from Mitchell-Baker High in 1984. Amanda went to a private school called Riverview. During and after my school days, I have worked many jobs including as a cook and cashier at McDonalds (5 years), a delivery person at Hall's Wholesale Florist (4 years) and as a tire lube machine operator at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.(6 months), all located in Albany, GA. I also worked at Cagles, which is now Equity Food Group, in Camilla, GA (my longest, with almost 10 years) and Sunnyland, Inc. (1 year, it closed down) in Thomasville, GA as a Quality Control/Assurance Technician at both places.

An interesting fact about Camilla, GAA lot of the scenes from the movie The War starring a young Elijah Wood (from the Lord of the Rings fame) and Kevin Costner were filmed in Camilla. The giant oak tree that the children build the fort in, that is one of the many scenes shot in Camilla. I remember them having all the signs up directing people to the filming. Wild to think Kevin Costner and Elijah Wood were in the very small town of Camilla!

In the year 2000 I was living in Camilla and working at Cooper Tire when a tornado struck on Valentine's Day (just barely as it hit about 12:01 AM, read about it here) and destroyed my home and the home of my sister, Michelle, and her family who lived right around the corner from me. Thankfully my sister and her family were fine. It was a miracle though because about the only thing left standing was the wall where her and the children were taking protection and a bathroom that they had just added on a few months earlier. Just so happen I had went out partying at Brother's Nightclub in Tallahassee, FL that night even though I had just worked a 12 hour shift at Cooper Tire! Seems like another miracle to me. But sadly one of my best friends, Dorothy "Dot" Rivers, was killed by the tornado. I miss her a lot. She helped me in my "coming out of the closet" days back in 1996. May she rest in peace.

Back in August, 1999 I had met a guy on the Internet from the Greenville, SC area and then we started meeting regularly in Atlanta. Yes, I am gay, in case you hadn't figured that out by now. You can read more about that in the section below titled More About Me. Since I had met someone special, my home was demolished by the tornado (I was now living with my parents in Albany) and I didn't like the job I was at anyway, I decided to take a chance and make a move to South Carolina to be with my partner and near some relatives of mine that live in SC. While in South Carolina, I lived in the Standing Springs Estates subdivision in Simpsonville. It's located only about 7 miles outside the city of Greenville and is in Greenville county. I lived with my now ex-partner for over 5 years until September 2005 after which time I decided to move back to Georgia because things weren't working out in our relationship so I wanted to be back near my immediate familyThe several aunts and uncles of mine that live or use to live in SC stayed in the towns of Pelzer and Williamston, both of which were no more than 20 miles from where I was living. My Uncle Curtis that lived in Pelzer died at the age of 44 on August 30, 2005. Since my Uncle Curtis' death, my Aunt Rita (Curtis' sister) & Uncle Ron are taking care of his daughter Natasha. They have moved back to Illinois where they all are originally from. My Uncles Keith and Roger still reside and work in Greenville, SC. Roger's son Matthew was killed in a car accident in Illinois on March 19, 2006.

I did the temporary job thing a few times while I lived in SC at places like BMW Manufacturing (where my Ex worked full-time) and Faurecia (which makes the dashboards for BMWs). And yes, they do make BMWs right here in the USA! They build the Z4 Roadster and X5 SUV models at the Spartanburg, SC plant. Check out the special American Flag BMW X5 that I took a picture of in front of the BMW museum, called the Zentrum, which is located in front of the factory and is open to the public. Very kewl!

There has since been another tornado that struck almost the exact same area in Camilla on March 23, 2003!! Good thing I had moved! Check out more about me and my interests in the sections below.

Cancer is a sensitive, emotional sign where feelings count more than logic. Since they are very nurturing and protective, they make wonderful mothers/fathers.  Like a crab, they are hard on the outside and soft inside. A Cancer's emotions shift back and forth. The home is important to them and provides their foundation.

MORE ABOUT ME

In this section I want to talk about who I am as a person and what I like to do, hobbies, etc... First of all, yes I am gay. I have known I was gay since as far back as I can remember, like to age 7. I feel I was born gay and feel that all truely gay people are born that way. Though I was born gay, I was raised in a strict religious family as a Jehovah's Witness and therefore I stayed "in the closet" until I was 29 years old. Thankfully a guy at the place I was working at that time gave me the courage to finally "come out". What a weight off my shoulders!! As they say, it felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off of me. Though I am gay, I am not any of the stereotypes given by a lot of straight people; I am not flamboyant. If you met me you would never know I was gay unless I told you. I do not dress as, nor do I want to be, a woman. I have no sexual desires for children. Most gay people do not follow those stereotypes, though there are some people (both hetero and homo) that do those things. Most straight people think that the gay population is only about 10% because every year that's what the "statistics" show. Trust me there are a lot more than that, especially when you include the closeted people. So be careful if you dislike or even hate gay people, because the ones your hating, might just be someone you love. That came from a PFLAG billboard campaign.

By the way, National Coming Out Day is October 11th of each year. It was started back in 1987. If your in the closet, get the courage up to come on out! If you need help, go to the link above, contact another support group or you can even contact me about it. I'd be more than willing to help you and discuss all the details of my "coming out", including how I told family members and close friends. Let me stress that "coming out" doesn't mean you have to walk around telling everyone you know or meet. I DON'T walk up to people and say, "Hi, I'm Kenny and by the way, I'm gay." It's just not their business. Basically, you are "coming out" to yourself, meaning you tell a few close personal family members or friends that you trust and then you are able to have the attitude of "I don't care if anyone finds out or knows that I am gay." That's why I am able to say it on my website because I don't care who knows but mainly I'm hoping to help other gay people and to show homophobic people that we're just like everyone else. Check out my Gay Resources page for all kinds of info on gay clubs, organizations, health issues, etc...

The things that I enjoy doing most now-a-days are watching the best of the reality shows on TV, watching the latest movies on dvd, watching videos on LiveVideo and chattin' with people through email and IM. My favorite movies are horror, sci-fi and action/adventure movies with tons of special effects. Some of my favorite movies are: The Spider-Man series, The Italian Job, Titanic, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Blade trilogy, A Home At The End Of The World, Brokeback Mountain, The Others and many more. I like the dinner and movie or just dining out once in a while too. Applebees is my favorite. Love to watch reality shows. You might say I'm a reality show freak! I don't care for most of the "dating" ones though. I know there are plenty more of you out there that love reality shows so hit me up on the email! My favorite Network reality shows are FOX's American Idol, CBS's The Amazing RaceBig Brother, and Survivor. On Cable TV, I like Overhaulin', Pimp My Ride, Trick My Truck, Project Runway, Next, Room Raiders and many many more! I love music and have a wide range of music interests. I like top 40 Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, some Rap and even a little of the new Country. Music was always an escape for me as a gay closeted teenager and even now sometimes when I just want to "escape" from reality for a little while. Some of my favorite artists are Jordis Unga, Madonna, Patti Labelle, Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Eminem, J-LO, Enrique Iglesias, Kelly Clarkson and many more.
