Roding & Loughton won the match 4.5-3.5. In the first round John fell for a Knight fork of his King and Queen while Andre got mated quite quickly. Simon and Ken saved the round by winning.
The second round had John and Ken playing to form and winning fairly easily with Simon agreeing a draw to win the match.

In the 1st round there were some well played games by the top three boards with ken letting the side down by playing for a draw. In the 2nd round the tables were reversed with only John getting the required point needed to win the match. A good result.

On paper this was a match that could go either way:-while not a total white wash, the Chingford team MOSTLY played to their grade while the Loughton team on the whole did not. So Chingford deserved their win. oh well perhaps we will do better next year.
