Snowline Romeo

This is our stallion, Snowline Romeo.  He has been my best friend since he was 16 months old, and is one of those horses who only come along once in a lifetime.  If I can figure out how to ask it of him, he does it for me.  No muss, no fuss, no hassle...smooth...What more could a girl ask for?  His babies have been the same way, each taking to the saddle and bridle as if they'd carried them all of their lives.  Same great temperament, same great gaits.  Wouldn't you like to try a Tiger?

We're BACK!!  On New Year's Day (2005) we had a great ride at High Roller I in Cat Spring, TX.  We placed 19th out of 39 who completed the 25 mile LD ride, and received MANY good comments on Romeo's gait and temperament.  On the 2nd, we did another 25 miles, placing 9th out of 19.  The vet commented that Romeo was ready to do another 50 miles that day...so our next ride just might be a slow 50!  (assuming I am up to it!)

Updated, flash forward to 2007 :

Hmmm...all that seems so long ago...

Now to catch you up a little on Romeo's endurance career:

He has now reached his 1,000 mile medallion with the AERC!  Some of the highlights:

All 5 days of the 2005 Michigan Shore to Shore 250 mile ride (barefoot, by the way).

1st recorded gaited stallion to complete ANY AERC 100 miler, taking 1st place and BC at the Joe Tate Memorial in 2006 (it IS easier to get BC if you are the only completion...but getting that completion with a healthy, happy horse is NOT).

3rd place AERC Jim Jones stallion award for 2006 (the award is for the highest mileage stallions in endurance nationwide).

He still amazes me.  You may have seen him last summer on the cover of the Endurance News with one of his favorite mares, Stormy and her owner, Mimi Salzer.

Or maybe you caught the shot of him in Equus (August 2007)?

If you'd like to review his endurance record, go to http://www.aerc.org/ and click on horse history.  You can use his name to search or enter his AERC # H37823 to see his full record to date.

Shipped semen is available, but breeding is by private treaty only.

at play....

...and at work.

OK, he's working, I was playing.  This was when I was a little over 4 months pregnant...And shortly after this, I upgraded my intelligence scores by learning to WEAR A HELMET!

Also, at the Inaugural Tiger Horse Championship in 2008, Romeo was Named Champion stallion in Model and in the Road Gait class, with his daughter, Frostbite, taking the mares and geldings Road Gait class!

A great ride is easy to spot!
