Here is an exact copy of one of my press releases. I omitted some personal information and replaced them with (your information). You'll notice that I had a publicist and omitted his information throughout.
It's a very good idea to draw up a press release flyer and send it out to local radio shows, local papers and even local libraries and book stores. The chain of events that result from this can be very rewarding and result in sales. I've even run off a couple of copies and handed them out at book signings I've had in malls and major bookstores. Be careful though when distributing them, certain malls and stores have rules about this and you need to check with store management.
