CRICKET FORCE
Thank-you to everyone who was able to give some time over the weekend to make Cricket Force such a success. We achieved a lot around the last 2 days and raised a substantial sum of the money for the Club in the process. The photos will be on the main club website A.S.A.P. - thanks Gareth for taking over 100 pictures, and Huw Owen will be producing a DVD of the weekend. Thanks again, see you very soon. Log onto the E.C.B. website to find coverage of events at St Fagans.
regards CLIVE FRANKLIN
NEW SOCIAL EVENTS
The next social event is the Cheese and Wine night to be held at john and Pam Durbin's house in August. The exact date has yet to be finalised. The cost will be £6 and tickets will be available soon.If you want to participate please sign up on the list at the club or contact me. Details of the events are available here.
PLAYER'S DINNER
The Players' Dinner was a very jolly affair with Robert Croft proving to be an entertaining and passionate guest speaker. There was a good turnout, with over 70 sitting down for an excellent meal (thanks Pam). Chairman David Harris made his pitch to take over the reins of P.R. for the Liberal Democrats but is yet to declare his sexual preferences as he wants to tell his mum first.
FRANCE TRIP
Last year's trip to Calais took place on the weekend on Dscember 10th. Unfortunately this clashed with the Oasis concert at the Millennium Stadium so numbers were down on previous years. However, a great time was had by all, even if some of us will have to take the word of others who were more sober than we were for this. Goldie wrote some rather scandalous pen pictures for us to read on the bus and you can read them by pressing this link. Rob Litchfield's report of the 2004 trip can also be perused by linking here.
The edited picture album can be viewed by clicking here.
The 2006 trip has been booked for the weekend of Sat/Sun December 2nd/3rd. The cost is the same as the last 2 years - £60 inclusive. Deposits of £30 are required to book a place. Contact Keith or Paul Harding to reserve your seat.
GARETH WATKINS' PHOTOGRAPHS
Our first team scorer Gareth has been taking photographs for several years now and has built up a superb portfolio that you can view at the clubhouse. These are now available for purchase from him at very reasonable prices. Anyone who has seen the photos can vouch for their excellent quality. A few can also be viewed on this site by clicking on this link. For each photograph sold Gareth donates a sum to the club funds. They really are worth a look.

NEWSLETTERS
The latest newsletter can be downloaded by by clicking NEWSLETTER OCT' 2005. The next newsletter will be available pre-season (April 2006).
NEW Simon Joseph sent around an email pleading for some players for a midweek game recently.
This is what it said. "Need either HQ or TT for balance of tomorrow's team or else I have got to play. I have got a bad back and if I play Rob King will have a bad side. Any takers? Simon"
HQ refers to a "Hairy Quick" and TT a "Tommy Trundle"
Two interesting replies were received.
1. Howard Slade played for 10 consecutive seasons (firsts and seconds) against Cheltenham because he was the only one who could find the ground. His career would have been cut short by 10 years if Tom Tom/Sat Nav had been around in the 90'sPJE once dropped me because he didn't like my Beetroot sandwiches, (the fact I hadn't taken a wicket in 3 months was irrelevant). Last September we held our first Former Players' dinner and it was a great success, with players spanning 50 years meeting up for the first time together en masse. A big thanks to our two speakers who entertained us royally, and to Mrs D and her team for the excellent meal. The committee in their with and wisdom decided that we should aim to make the event a biennial one so the next will be in the autumn of 2007. I f you have any views on this please let me know at keith.harding@ntlworld.com. If you want to see some of the photographs taken on the night you can view them here. We appologise if some of you do not appear in the photos but it was a long night (Simon Lewis, Keith Harding, Dave White and Paul Williams finally decamped as the sun was coming up). Further details of the dinner are available here.

Who is the good looking one in the middle? - Do I need to tell you who sent that one in?
However humdrum and miserable my life is I always have one thing to look forward to come the international rugby season - Graham and Mair Lewis's 6 Nation results picks. But due to the incredibly unpredictable nature of this year's competition Graham's bizzare choices have come up trumps. He ended up as the only one who had 13 right out of 15. Second place went to Izaak Duffy who had 12 right and 62 tries (there were 61), then Martin Boyce with 12 right and 63 tries. There were 4 others with 12 correct but the try count was wrong.
Graham tells me that he has taken abuse from his sons ever since the competition started 10 years ago and he intends framing his form. Mark Lewis is selling his "can't fail" system on Ebay. Bids start at 1p (somewhat over-priced I think).
Thanks to all of you who entered.
Plugger contacted Dave Hopkins recently to thank the club for its hospitality last summer. You can read his letter here.
Oh, by the way Mike, Whitey's trees are still looking a bit bare.

.....and talking of all things Aussie, who is this innocent young buck celebrating St Patrick's Day with a couple of Sheilas in a remote part of the convict kingdom? Is that the Gay Gordons he is doing?
