KEIGHLEY & DISTRICT SUMMER POOL LEAGUE

RULES FOR INDIVIDUAL & DOUBLES COMPETITIONS

1.         World 8 Ball Pool Rules apply.

2.       The Person/Team drawn first has home advantage.  However, the Semi-Finals and Finals will be played at neutral venues.

3.       Matches will be the best of 5 frames.  With the exception of the Semi-Finals which will be the best of 7 frames, and the Final which will be the best of 9 frames.

4.        The home Player/Team will be responsible for their own match arrangements, unless away player has provided no contact number or a pub/club number.

5.       In a case where no agreement can be reached before the result deadline the home Player/Team must offer 3 dates for the match to be played on.

6.       If the away Player/Team refuses all 3 non consecutive dates they will forfeit the match and the home Player/Team will progress through to the next stage.

7.        If a match is not played by the result deadline the away Player/Team will go into the next round by default (with the exception of rule 8) but they must still claim the match.

8.       The only exception to rule 7 will be if the away Player/Team refuses (see rule 6) or fails to play the match on the agreed date in which case the home Player/Team will go into the next round by default but they must still claim the match.

9.       The winning Player/Team must telephone the result or claim to 07724399087 ANYTIME before the specified deadline otherwise the losing Player/Team will go into the next round by default.  No exceptions will be made.

10.      Play must start no later than the time agreed (by the clock at the venue).  If the match has not started within 30 minutes of the agreed start time the first frame may be claimed, subsequent frames may be claimed every 10 minutes.

11.        If a player is barred or suspended from an opposing Pub/Club or is under age, then they must contact the Landlord (within five days) to ask permission to play.

12.      If a dispute cannot be resolved on the match day, notice should be given in writing to the committee so they may arbitrate.  The committee’s decision is final.

13.      Any Player/Team that has a claim made against them (as in rules 6,7,8 and 10) will be required to make a guarantee to the committee before they will be allowed to enter again.  In the event that this occurs in consecutive seasons the Player/Team may be expelled from the relevant competitions in future years at the discretion of the committee.

14.      Unreasonable and/or bad behavior during a match (as described in rule A of the World 8 Ball Pool Rules) from players or spectators will not be tolerated.  The committee reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary in the event that a complaint received in writing is upheld.

In general, try to ensure that there is a cue rest available and there is adequate lighting for the pool table.  Finally, a copy of the League & World 8 Ball Pool Rules must be on view at the venues.
