Okay, you've seen Prince of Tennis, but you've never heard of Whistle before. The two series aren't exactly alike, but there are some similarities between the characters! If you like a certain character from the Prince of Tennis, its Whistle counterpart will be listed below. XD Hopefully, in some way, it'll convince you to check out Whistle and love the series as much as Prince of Tennis. XD

Ohtori Choutarou and Kazamatsuri Sho

Ohtori and Sho are both extremely kind and compassionate people, always there to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. (Like how Ohtori helped Shishido, and how Sho helped... a whole lot of people!) They are passionate about the sport they play and work extremely hard to improve. (Ohtori practiced all night that one time with Shishido to work on his Scud Serve, and Sho is always practicing every night until midnight with his soccer ball.) They're both pretty innocent, too.

Echizen Ryoma and Shiina Tsubasa

They're both arrogant, snarky, little brats with major skills. They both have their sensitive sides, though, like Ryoma's fondness for his cat or Tsubasa's fondness towards Sho.

Tezuka Kunimitsu and Mizuno Tatsuya

They're both the captains of their teams. They're both very serious about the sport they play, and they're both perfectionists. Also, they're both the best players on their respective teams and care a lot about their teammates.

Oishi Shuuichiro and Shibusawa Katsuro

They're both really calm, mellow, mature, and smart. And they both have super energetic best friends! I've always thought of Fujishiro and Shibusawa as Whistle's own Golden Pair.

Kikumaru Eiji and Fujishiro Seiji

They're both really energetic, silly, happy-go-lucky people. XD Fujishiro isn't particularly acrobatic or anything, but he can pull off some pretty amazing soccer moves, too.

Momoshiro Takeshi and Satou Shigeki

They're both really friendly and outgoing and the sort of best friend/big brother of the main character. Momo's always teasing Ryoma about everything, and Shige's always teasing Sho about falling asleep in class and calling him Pochi (puppy). XD

Inui Sadahara and Fuwa Daichi

They're both total geniuses, and they talk using percents and numbers and other analytical stuff. They're both pretty strange, too. Intimidating, as well. The image of Inui standing there, smirking, with a glass of Inui juice is just as freaky as Fuwa standing there, just... staring at you. (It's the eyes that are especially scary. He's just naturally intimidating.)

Fuji Syuusuke and Sugihara Taki

This one was too friggin' obvious. XD The very NANO-SECOND I saw Sugihara, my mind screamed, "FUJI!" I mean, the constantly happy face and closed eyes... the cool, calm demeanor that can suddenly turn very serious during a game... the swift, graceful moments while they're playing a game of tennis or soccer. They're so alike! Oh, and Sugihara likes nice, fresh grass. Fuji likes cacti. They're both really strange in that sense, too. XD

Akutsu Jin and Tenjou Ryoichi

Their outward appearances are rather similar. The light hair, pale skin, scary eyes, and overall intimidating appearance. They're both loners, often keeping to themselves, and they both have people who look up to them. Dan Taichi wants to grow up to be big and strong like Akutsu, and it's the same thing for Sho and Tenjou.

Ryuuzaki Sakuno and Sakurai Miyuki

They're both the shy, quiet, loyal supporters of the main character in the series. They care very much about the boy they like, and they attend all their matches and cheer them on. Also, it's because of Ryoma and Sho that Sakuno and Miyuki start playing tennis and soccer, too.
