Flaming Text

Please read through the tutorial before starting

1.Start by going to File>New. Set your document to 500x500 RGB color - White

2.Fill your background black by pressing (D) then (Alt+Backspace)

3.Create your text in a plain font size 80, white, and place it 3/4 of the way down your page.

4.Create a new layer and press (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E) with the Layer 1 selected.

5.Rotate the new layer CCW

6. With layer 1 active, go to Filter>Stylize>Wind, and set it to Wind from the Right

7. Repeat this 3 times and then rotate the layer CW

8. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Set it to 3 Pixels and press ok. Then press (Ctrl+U), check the Colorize box, set the Hue to 40 and the Saturation to 100.

9.Dulicate the layer and press (Ctrl+U) again. Set the Hue to -40 and press ok.

10. Activate Layer 1 and Set it to Color Dodge. Then press (Ctrl+E) to merge it down on to Layer 1

11. Go to Filter>Distort>Liquify, and with the Brush setting to 50 and Brush Pressure to 40, Move the brush over the flames to make them look more realistic. Do this Again with the Brush set to 30 and Pressure to 40, and create the smaller flames.

12. Type in your original text in Black

13.With the Magic Wand Tool (W), Highlight the text. Then select your Gradient Tool(G) and Select these -

14. Draw a gradient with the white at the top within the selected text

15. Duplicate the layer without the text and set it to Screen with the Opacity at 33%

16. With the top Layer selected, Press (Ctrl+Shift+E) to merge all layers.

17. With the Smudge Tool (F), Smudge the fire to cover bits of the text to make to text look like its on fire

18. Select the bottom part of the picture and Copy & Paste (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+P)

19.Flip the new layer Vertically and place below the picture to make a reflection

20. Blur the reflection.

And the Finished Result!
