Dayspring Poodles of the Past

For those that are a bit confused by my present name change, and do not know the history of the past three years, I, Cathie-Iris:Soles ( now Katrina Schumacher) was widowed and have changed my name to Katrina, which is my childhood nickname....Katrina has the same meaning to be Pure of Heart...The Canadian Kennel club has kindly recognized this name change for me. I have been a member of The Canadian Kennel Club for over 20 years,....Here at this page you will be able to view Dayspring Poodles Past.....who my daughter Amanda Soles/ now married Amanda M Price helped me groom and show....Amanda is full time at home with her husband/children and her camera.  You can find Amanda at   http://keepittoyourself.blogspot.com/

Ruby

Ruby raised one litter for Dayspring, 3 males were donated to DogGuides Canada, none of the others 3 were retained. DogGuides used a few of Ruby's decendants in their breeding program. Ruby was of the Wycliffe line...a beautiful bitch to learn how to show with. Ruby loved people and all critters. Ruby would have nothing to do with the Silver male Gentry that was bought as an outcross for her...I decided to concentrate then on a Silver line.

Canadian Ch.Averina Ruby Tiara Daysping

My first Standard Poodle bitch, a most beautiful Black Bitch from Averina Poodles, Ruby was so special, I learned how to groom a show poodle with her. Here we are pictured at her Retirement show taking a Group 3....this was over ten years ago.

BlackTie SilvrnGent Dayspring

Gentry, Dayspring's Silver boy from the South, from BlackTie in Florida. Gent was purchased as an outcross for our Black Bitch Ruby, but she would have nothing to do with him. Gent was a most wonderful show dog, and my daughter  Amanda worked so hard at keeping his long locks. Amanda also almost exclusively handled Gent to his Canadian Championship and on to multi-group wins.  At 4 years of age Gentry returned to BlackTie, going on to take Best of Winners at the PCA. One puppy was retained by Dayspring to carry on Gent's genes. A stud fee, blue female puppy **Kisses**

Gentry and Amanda

Amanda and Gent after his Championship show at Edmonton Alberta. Aren't they lovely together?

Amanda showing Emma, Gentry's younger half sister from BlackTie.

Emma Silver Female Poodle at Dayspring

It was so exciting to take a Group 1 and to be able to compete for the Best In Show...Emma did Dayspring proud during her first show in adult clip...I am pictured here with Emma.  Emma had 4 sons and daughters go out to DogGuides Canada, Emma's descendants are being used in the School's breeding program.  Dayspring has one blue female, that is decended this many years later to both Emma and her big brother
