The Ranks In a clan or tribe, they have the ranks of each member. Here, I'll explain each.Leader As the term clearly says, a Leader leads the clan. Simple enough. He or she performs the kit naming, apprentice, warrior and elder ceremonies and makes decisions for the clan. Deputy The leader’s second-in-command. He or she organizes hunting and border patrols and altogether helps the leader out. The deputy becomes the leader when the leader dies. Medicine Cat The healer of the clan. They will usually take on an apprentice, which can be an actual apprentice or a warrior, to train so they can take their place if the medicine cat should die. They also have a very strong connection to StarClan and receive visions and dreams from them as warnings or prophecies. Warrior A warrior is a member of the clan that hunts, patrols and protects the clan. Apprentices train to be a warrior. Senior warriors have more power or their opinions often mean more to the leader than younger warriors. Warriors are the trainers of apprentice’s or mentors that teach them to hunt and fight. Apprentice A warrior-in-training or medicine-cat-in-training. They are cats older than six months that are taught by their assigned mentor. When their mentor believes they are skilled enough, they report it to the deputy or the leader themselves. In the case of a medicine cat, the medicine cat mentor does the ceremony. Elder An elder is an older warrior or queen that retired for their age does them in. The apprentices, and warriors that are being punished, bring them fresh-kill and clean their pelts of fleas and ticks. Queen Queen is not really a rank. It’s the condition of a she-cat, even though ‘queen’ is another way to say she-cat. A queen is a she-cat expecting or nursing kits. Kit A kit is simply a kitten, a clan cat that is younger than six months that is watched over by their mothers in the mursery. Healer The cat who leads the Tribe and cares for the sick cats. He or she acts as the leader and medicine cat. Prey-hunter A cat that hunts for the Tribe. They are warriors trained specifically in hunting. Cave-guard A cat who guards the Tribe's camp and territory. They join hunting patrols to watch out for eagles that might attack. They are warriors trained specifically in fighting. Kit-mother A she-cat nursing or expecting kits. Again, it's not really a rank like a queen. To-be A cat in training to be either a prey-hunter or a cave-guard. They are the same as an apprentice in the clans.
