Never was a big fan of exercise, but since WW said if you could at least get 20 minutes in everyday (even 10 min. at a time) that would help your weight loss. So I started the next day after joining putting in 10 min. at a time for a total of 20 min. a day on a exercise bike. I wanted to do everything I could to lose as much as I could.
Well, I had gradually worked my way up to 60 min. a day, but I was BORED out of my mind!!! Well in my cruising the message boards I had seen a Eowyn Challenge...The Road Goes Ever On thread. Being a BIG Lord Of The Rings fan I thought I'd find out more about it. I think I posted on every board trying to find it. Well someone answered me.
And I found my way on to a GREAT message board, and the best EXERCISE MOTIVATION I could possibly find. Also became a Shieldmaiden! :) The goal of the Walk To Rivendell/Eowyn Challenge is 458 miles to that place in the books/movie (some are trying to get there by the opening of Return Of The King this Christmas, but many are just going at there own pace/goal). I was so happy to be adding up my miles everyday (even got a treadmill to walk part of the way). I had a DESTINATION in mind, not just trying to clock 60 min. in a day. It's been such a motivation that I made one room in my house an exercise room!? That coming from someone who avoided exercise like the plague. :) Also found a great group of ladies. I also like going to that thread everyday to see posts by familar people, friends. I haven't been a Shieldmaiden for very long, so I'm still getting to know everyone, but it's the best group to be a part of. I thank them for letting me become a part of their group!
The challenge doesn't have to end when you reach Rivendell either, I plan on traveling on to other destinations in the book. Then I'll turn to travel back home again. :) I'll have plenty of miles to keep me motivated.:)
So if your interested or ever on the Challenge Central Board we're under Eowyn Challenge...The Road Goes Ever On thread. We post from morning to night. If you're not a Lord of the Rings fan, I'd still come to the Challenge Central Board, and find your own exercise motivation! There's something for everyone! I believe very strongly that this exercise that I'm doing is my main reason for loosing as fast as I have been. Also when I have had a bad day or weekend, I didn't gain. So try it even if it's just 10 minutes a day, you won't be sorry you did! :)))
Here's the link to the Eowyn Challenge site started by one of my fellow Shieldmaidens! Tells you everything you need to know for this Challenge!! http://home.insightbb.com/~eowynchallenge/Walk/walk.html
