Kassam Out

Kassam out

The usual pro Kassam stuff

He saved the Club!
Debatable, we were in financial ruin and at the time. However after seeing Kassam announcing in the press four times that he wants to sell the club, I believe he was not really concerned with "saving" the club. After Firoz took over the club, the team has dropped 2 divisions, attendences are down and we have been stuck in the 3rd division.

We are financially sound!
Are you sure? The club is now worth 28K and we no longer own a stadium, we do not have any bright future of owning a retail village, hotel or conference facilities and we are losing money. These are tied in with the poor quality of the football, bad PR (Beauchamp, Council rows etc) which is proven by OUFC havig the lowest attendance at the Kassam. If he ploughed as much money into the club as he has his hotels and Ozone complex I am sure that we would not be sitting in the bottom half of League 2 having only 4-5k turning up to the games. If the orginal Cox plan continued with the stadium, hotel and the Ozone being in Oxford United?s name and the club would be making plenty of profit and very financially safe. However it is not making any income from these and therefore we are losing money.

Who else will take over?

The Gang of four or Diaz and friends. I am sure there are also other potential buyers interested in the club but do not want to make an application via the Oxford Mail!!!

Overall

Before Kassam bought the club, we were a first division club, holding at least 6 million of real estate land (?12 million with planning permission), with a half built stadium, the permission to build a hotel and Ozone, the conference facilities in the stadium etc. Now we have a team that are sitting close to relegation from the Coca-Cola leagues which is worth a reported ?28K
