melancholy .u n c e r t a i n t y. - [Part Four]

It would seem peace and tranquility would again be restored indefinitely to the beautiful island of Karalus with the natural departure to winter and the lovely arrival of spring. Unfortunately the Spirits will say otherwise.

As more mysterious deaths continue to occur, the population of Karalusian wolves is, obvious, decreasing. Not only have wolves of the courts been being picked off, it appears more loners have been being taken. Nervousness and uncertainty have come over the island in a large way; The royalty of both courts are aware that accusations will soon follow.

Prince Noreth's wings have shed, and through a small traditional ceremony held on the second day of their falling. He has now taken control of court Oashisu at the age of one. King Hade was opposed to this, however, but according to Queen Konomei it was necessary.

Antoinette's wings shed shortly after Noreth's, and soon Noreth will formally propose to her, officially binding Paradisea and court Oashisu as one.

As the deaths continue to happen, both courts numbers are dwindling, not to mention a sudden increase in spirit sightings. It seems a few of the ethereal beings have taken it upon themselves to prepare their children with blessings.....

For now, there's no telling who could be next...

This is history in the making....

winter .w o n d e r l a n d. - [Part Three]

Much time has passed since the reigns of Noa, Constance, and Mercury. The Spirit’s have wiped out the entire island, killing and scorching with corrosive lava from Railen Volcano. Perfection was not being restored quickly enough, so all that had been created with so much care, was crushed once again. But all life on Karalus is not lost. This wonderful place will be reborn for a second time in its history.

While the lava worked away at ruining the lives of the living, the ocean cooled the liquid rock and new places were created. Many, many small islands were made and would go on to flourish beside Karalus, while the new, smooth surfaces upon the Mainland added many more strange, mysterious aspects to it. Caves, vast, smooth lands, and even ridges and cliffs home to new rivers and lakes.

As time passed, the island began to flourish again. The Spirits were ready to re-create once again. But this time, mistakes would not be made with the common breeds of wolves found on the other continents with ideas from a flawed, outside world. These creatures would be made to fit these lands, perfectly shaped and advantaged to move over the soft sand with grace, to hold their breath under water as long as seals. These creatures would be born to paradise.

About half a millenium passed before these new canines evolved. The first were unnatural looking, with legs and necks that were much too long. Their colours were muddled, and they weren’t … correct. But before the Spirit’s could wipe out the living once again, the new wolves began to evolve. Thanks to evolution, we find ourselves with a race that has flourished into one of beauty.

With pelts every colour imaginable, ranging from pearls and oranges to vibrant greens and reds. Their ears are fine-tuned to sift through the loud songs of the jungle, slightly more triangular than that of an average wolf. Their tails are much longer than the average wolf as well, grants them superb balance while running and swimming. Their pelts are of a fine, fine fur that is both water resistant, and cooling. The Spirits named their children … Karalusians.

Throughout their evolution, the main court of Karalusians [Oashisu] began to fued. Dissagreements on whether or not they should claim even more of the island to find fresher lands full of untouched prey and more room for the ever-growing pack caused a split in their numbers. A female and a male, two mates of the Oashisu Court, left with a few followers. They were known as Sukuxea and Meihoku, the First Queen and King of the Paradisea Court. But after twenty-two years of their small quarelling, Court Paradesia has realized they must make peace and move to the Mainland.

Prince Noreth, the second born son of the second litter to Queen Konomei and King Hade of Court Oashisu, is to marry Princess Antoinette, the second born daughter of the second litter to Queen Kazoku and King Roiyaru. The two packs will become one, and peace will be once again restored.

Well, not if Princess Antoinette has anything to say about it. Meetings must go on between the Courts in the common land once a month, to discuss plans for the future. Things have been moving smoothly .. Except for the unexplainable deaths that have been occuring.

The bodies of those who are taken silently from their Courts have not been recovered, and fear is rising through each Court. .. Only time will tell ..

irrevocable .m a y d a y. - [Part Two]

A great task has been completed. The powerful forces of Karalus successfully met with the summoned wolves; their destiny unveiling before them. Alphess Constance, a unique female of many histories recreated into her present form was spoken to by the divine Kietsu of Raivu. Constance, though confused, accepted the Spirits words and decided to continue her life as Kietsu had told her to. The peaceful Alphess Noa was strangley requested by the elusive Kami of Tenrai, and Noa's destiny was told to her in angelic tones. Soon, the new Alphess was left in her territories as the beautious Spirit descended into the pearly, mysterious Kaine Oak.The ever cunning Alpha Mercury was given the honor of meeting in private with the strangely unctuous Truic of Kouu. Accepting his fate with dignity and little speech, the silver male decided to demonstrate to the doubting ex-Alpha otherwise, and begin a bitterly feared pack. Loners came to the land--all in strange, unthinkable ways. Oddly enough, memory of their ascent was lost, and none remember exactly how they came upon the amazing paradise. They are not the first, and defiantly not the last...

And although they do not know it yet, the wolves, deer, parrots, monkeys, and all the other animals that live upon this tropical haven are soon to be joined by more beings. And these new creatures are most unexpected...

Storms have taken over the South Atlantic Ocean, stirring and tipping the oceans in all directions. The terrible monsoons stretched on all through the Bermuda Triangle, clawing at the edges of the unseen borders and out to the extreme lengths of the ocean. The huge atmospheric turmoil ripped its way through the skies, obviously uncaring of the terror that came with it. And obviously uncaring of what lives it would change...

The chaotic storms and terrible 'rain blizzards' reached far over the oceans, shredding the skies and any paths in its course. One path in particular, in fact. Flight number 376, which was supposed to be going to Florida from Puerto Rico, was caught in the horrific storm. The large airliner carrying over seventy people was sent hurling to the tossing oceans; the pilot’s attempts at keeping it up, or at least finding land large enough to land it on were futile.

With people screaming as loudly as the violent storm, the plane descended with sickening speed to the oceanic earth below, no hope in sight. Until the co-pilot caught sight of the tiny island. He knew they were way off course, but land was in sight, and he might be able to save some of the people. Both he and the pilot steered the plane as best as they could to the small island; but little did they know, much more was in store for the people aboard.

With a painful screeching, flight 376 crashed into the writhing waters, the metal of the plane twisting and snapping with the force of it. Both pilots were killed in their attempt at saving the lives of the passengers. The airliner came to a violent halt, half upon the small 'Cave Cove Island' and half in the water. How many will survive? How many will realize where they are, who they will come across?

Will you survive..?

equivocal .p a s t. - [Part One]

Some time ago, [no one is sure of how long ago this story began] a beautiful island flourished without the help of man. Creatures of every type lived in harmony upon this tropical heaven, untouched and seemingly made for the peaceful animals that had so willingly learned to thrive there. The flowers that bloomed in cadence to the lovely whether were an array of different and unique colours--beautiful and strange enough to make the rainbows in the sky envy the changing tones. The clearest rivers and waterfalls flowed smoothly across the exquisite island, bringing clean water from the natural springs in the mountains. Magnificent sets of mountains dotted the stunning landscape, protecting the shyest of the animals from any they may have feared.

In this wonderful place lived three of the most respected packs ever formed in this world. Three packs of noble wolves lived peacefully, ruling over the lands with equal power. The Tenrai pack, The Kouu Pack, and The Raivu Pack. Each of the three packs held equal amounts of land for their territories. Each pack had an equal balance of members, and each ruled fairly. The Tenrai pack was ruled by a peace making female, Alphess Kami. Her pack claimed 'The Crossing' all the way to the 'Hiding Hills' for their territory. Tenrai were the peaceful pack, and the animals would come to Alphess Kami when a problem needed solving. The Kouu Pack were slightly darker than the others. They were ruled by an ebony pelted male by the name of Truic. This pack loved the rain, and would be seen more in the darker areas of the beautiful island. Much more secluded than any of the others, they were scarcely heard or seen, but were respected just as greatly as The Tenrai and The Raivu Packs. Kouu claimed territory from Kruelen Forest to Cave Cove Island. The Raivu Pack was full of life and lived it to the fullest. Their Alpha Male and Alpha Female were named Rokobi and Kietsu, and they ruled their pack with good humor and strength. A little more laid back than the other two packs, The Raivu Pack was enjoyed by many.

The trio of packs were curitous to each, did not overstep boundaries or hunt on lands they were not supposed to. Rules were set in the tropical land, but they were unneeded until a terrible plague came to land. Mosquitoes swarmed the lands, and no one knew where they had come from. They polluted the otherwise blue skies, biting and poisoning anything and everything in their paths. With them, the awful insects carried a horrific disease. Alpha Truic of the Kouu pack fell victim to the illness the first out of all the packs. The symptoms of the spreading disease were terrible. Hallucinations, voices, even traces of schizophrenia type symptoms were apparent in infected wolves. Truic began thinking his subordinates were betraying him, going to the other packs and abandoning him. He did not realize he had the virus, and began ordering his still loyal wolves to kill one another. As soon as The Rokobi Pack was informed of this from one of the escaped Kouu wolves, they went to The Tenrai pack, and together they started a refuge for the Kouu pack. Slowly but surly wolves began to die off; either from the disease, or the other wolves putting them out of their misery.

Anarchy broke out soon after, and the land erupted into pure chaos. Trust was broken, lies and rumors spread just as quickly as Fictiaclurosis, and the seemingly constant divinity of the land was shattered. The few remaining wolves caught the disease, and all fell to the horrible symptoms of Fictiaclurosis--and seeing as though they did not have anyone left that they trusted enough to live with, they had no one to kill them. They had no one to kill them.. but themselves. Suicide became an every day thing to see.. wolves drowning themselves to get away from the mind twisting pain they went through. Jumping off cliffs, and even fighting one another to death, starving and any thing else with a fatal ending.

Finally, after two years of the Fictiaclurosis Plague, all the animals of the island were completely wiped out. The island lay dormant for some time, no one is exactly sure how long it lay sleeping. Years, decades, even centuries.. no one knows for sure...

But slowly.. the animals began to return. Had they been hiding from the terrible Fictiaclurosis? Or had they come back from the dead? No one has any inclination of how animals began to return here. It is an island, right? Animals cannot come on boats, or planes.. maybe they swam? No one knows.. maybe the long deceased wolves beckoned them back to the once tainted land.

More importantly, a small group of wolves have been called to the island. Some strange force has taken them from wherever it is they came from, and brought them to this once again virgin land. Here they will bring the land back to its orginal, perfectness. And to guide these chosen wolves are the forgotten souls of the wolves that felt the wrath of mind breaking Fictiaclurosis. Ghosts haunt these lands.. some are angry and some are not. Some will curse, and some will bring luck..

Will all be well again..? Here, in this once forsaken land..

Here, in Karalus..

Karalus is not a real island nor is Fictiaclurosis a real disease. We made it up.
