Illidan Stormrage-Night Elf Demon Hunter - Former Sorcerer. Affliation: None... . Age: 15032. In the dark days, before the War of the Ancients, Illidan was one of the few non-high-borne practitioners of magic. Though his older brother Furion warned him that magic was an evil, corrupting power, Illidan steadfastly refused to give up his coveted art. Over time, the noble night Elf lost his soul to a dependency for magic's chaotic energies. Though Illidan used his dark powers to aid his brother against the demons of the Burning Legion, he ultimately betrayed his people by siding with the evil Queen Azshara and her followers. After the war ended and the landmass of Kalimdor was shattered forever, Illidan created a new Well of Eternity to ensure that his coveted, corrupting magic would not disappear from the world. For his sin, his brother, Furion, commanded that he be chained beneath the earth for all time. Illidan has remained caged in darkness till he was released by the Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind to battle the Burning Legion along with his brother. He was, however, persuaded later by the Death Knight Arthas to consume the Skull of Gul'dan, transforming him, and increasing his powers. However, his brother drove him out of Kalimdor for this ultimate offense. In his solitude, he encountered the demon Kil'jaeden, who had been the second in command of the Burning Legion before, and who made him a deal to destroy the Lich King Ner'zhul who had rebelled, in exchange for a unlimited source to feed the demon hunter's hunger for magic. Illidan agreed, and summoned the Naga from the sea to assist him. He was, however, being pursued by the Warden Maiev Shadowsong, who had been his jailor in past times. So he was interrupted in trying to complete his quest. When he was finally confronted by her, the blood mage prince Kael'thas, and his brother, who had just been told that Tyrande Whisperwind, the Priestess of the Moon whom Malfurion loved dearly, had fallen. However, the blood mage told Malfurion otherwise, and thus Malfurion agreed to free Illidan if he helped bring back Tyrande. He did. However, Maiev continued pursuing him even after that. Illidan fled to Outland, and in the course gained the alliance of the blood mage prince Kael'thas, as the prince was actually a high elf, and still had that insatiable hunger for magic, which Illidan agreed to help with. Actually, the truth was, Illidan was fleeing from Kil'jaeden as Illidan had failed. He thus wanted to overtake the kingdom of Outland where he THOUGHT he would be safe. Unfortunately, right after he had killed the Pit Lord king of Outland, Kil'jaeden appeared and confronted him. Illidan begged and was given another chance. So Illidan journeyed to Northrend, where he prepared to assault the Lich King's stronghold. However, when he reached and was just about to enter the mountain where Ner'zhul sat frozen, he encountered and was slain by the Death Knight Arthas who had been called by the Lich King to defend him. There, Illidan ended.
