- NORSCA MAP VERSION INFORMATION - Version 1.7: 1) Liber Chaotica mentiones Norse tribe called Brennus, who live where also Baernsonlings and Sarls live - close to Troll Country. I decided to make Brennus part of Baernsonlings, but added their own town to the Goromadny mountains: Brenneholm. Also added few more villages there, which would be Brennus villages. 2) Made Ulfsland biggest island in the Sea of Claws (as mentioned in the Sea of Claws article). 3) Added few things from the great source The Citadel Journal Issue 6 - Norsca: - Name "Heorot", which is another calling name (more older) for the capital, which is Olricstaad (Olricstaad; Skaeling territory) - Kodradfief (village along the River Muggelir; Skaeling territory) - Thorfrost Valley (middle of the norsca; neutral area) - Ejsgard (most northemost area/realm in Norsca; neutral area). Part of Ejsgard is Ice Field of Drergen Mort. Idea comes from The Citadel Journal character Sturmjarl. - Durfang (village in Jotunir Pass; Skaeling/neutral territory) 4) Added Town of Iskvard to the coastline of Bjornling territory (Sea of Claws). This name was found from the Liber Chaotica (Skar's Kraken-Killer Sword). 5) Added also few villages to Graeling, Varg, Aesling and Baernsonling areas. 6) Added few villages & cave system (Caves of Decay) where Unholy Site Nurgle is (northern Sarl territory). This is the location of The Wolf Brothers Tribe (the Decayed Ones), Feytor the Tainted people (Storm of Chaos, Liber Chaotica). And I have linked this location also to Byttigen legends. 7) Skogenberg ruins in the northern parts of Baernsonling area. This is ancient village mentioned in the Byttigen legend from original Norsca Project. 8) Fortress of Viksjoergsberg, which was given to the Knights of the Holy Order of St. Rembrand the Faithful. Details of order can be found from Corrupting Influence - The Best of Warpstone Volume 1 9) Askreved Forest and River Hulebjorn from the maps of original Norsca Project. 10) Added few things from originally French published Warhammer RPG product "Pour la gloire d'Ulric" (For the glory of Ulric) or in short PGU: - Ancient Aponnia (Troll Country) - Skorlm (small town along on River Valfisk; Skaeling territory) - Mountains around Skorlm are now called Iron Mountains (mountains around River Valfisk; Skaeling territory) - Mount Vanir (volcano close to the Skorlm; Skaeling territory) - Village of Kleitborg (next to Varaland Island; Skaeling territory) - Village of Goslor (on Taaketskog coastline; Bjornling territory) - Norscveg Plain (Varg territory) - Glory of Ulric gives important settlement which original name is Gottborg, but is named before the Storm of Chaos Swerborg. I decided to make Stavgard smaller settlement and put this new settlement next to it. 11) Added two Fjords: Taldursfjord (close to Kraka Dorden. Name from Dwarfs: Stone and Steel) and Ursfjord (close to Urslo. Name from WFB:Dogs of War). Changed those areas little more Fjord-like. 12) Moved the Last Hope Inn again. It is now on the main land and more reachable. I decided to put it to the mountains at the edge of Baernsonling territory. You can easily reach the Inn from Black Blood Pass, but it is not on the pass. And also Dwarfen holds are found near the Inn. Version 1.6: 1) Few good ideas from the Forums. I have changed few village names (too real-life likeness). Then there is Winter Ice Borders (during the winter months northern seas get little frosty. Version 1.5: 1) Different special sites (Inns, Ruins, Stones, Caves, Castles, Holy Sites, Mines...etc.) have multiple different symbols to separate them more easily. Old common symbol (triangle) marks now only the ruins. 2) I have made the fonts little smaller. Names fit better to the map. 3) Most of the Norsca settlements have remained same. But there are many new settlements based on the official material, novels, fan works and even few requests from the fans. 4) Kislev, Troll Country and part of Northern Empire has changed very much because information/map found from the Realm of the Ice Queen (RotIQ). I have kept double names for some locations (old ones and the new ones). 5) I have added new locations to all the countries (like Albion) across the Sea of Claws based again by some sources found. Not really important anyway for Norsca Map, but they are still there. 6) Norsca geography has changed little. More "mountains rolling to the sea". Also swamps/marshes/bogs are marked separately now. But there are many new locations (official and fan-named) on the map now (again very much thanks to all fans, you probably find your ideas in the map). 7) Black Blood Pass has moved (again because RotIQ map). This has caused also change to The Last Hope Inn's location. I moved it to the island (more easily defended position). Still close to original position, but not on the route of Black Blood Pass (it just wouldn't have survived Chaos incursions in that former location). Inn is still very reachable by boats/ships (provided by Dwarves) and during the winter time across the ice. 8) Because Black Blood Pass moved, the "original" pass to north had to be named again. Other passes through the mountains have also names now. By the way - none of the names are actually my own. So, very much thanks to other fans, who provided excellent name-ideas. 9) Fans of Palace of Plague Lord will find villages mentioned there close to River Groene (that is basicly natural border between Norsca and Troll Country) in ruins. Idea for that location came from the RotIQ map. In that map both Aeslings and Baersonglins can be found on that location (very close to each other). Fits the story perfectly, because otherwise their lands are very much separated. Characters trail, after the beginning of the book, then goes through the Shadow Pass into the Aesling lands and finally to the Slave Forge on the shores of Frozen Sea. Just check that from the map. Version info prior 1.5: - Map is based on the map found in Tome of Corruption, but also old maps & locations that were created by Morten Krog for his Norsca Project. - Also another valuable map source has been Mad Alfreds maps. And actually himself also. He had some good points about some locations. - All the border lands are there (Albion, Bretonnia, Wasteland, The Empire and Kislev). Based again to all the maps I could find. Border locations have all the important towns & villages. - Most of the Villages don't have names. - Kuldevind Islands and Hjaltland Islands are from original Norsca Project. - Area names Vestligkyst, Taaketskog, Soerligslette and Fjellsende are also from original Norsca Project. - Forest of Knives and Elven Temple are from WFRP Companion. - Sarls locations are partly found from Warhammer Online maps. - Kraga Ungrim is idea from original Norsca Project. - The Last Hope Inn is from ToC. This is the location where I picture it. - Some other locations are also from different sources. I don't list all of them.
