Blås med meg min kvite news (16.08.2008)
Three plus months. How were you able to live without your news? I don't know, but it's possible that you did. If not, tough break kid. Anyway, for those of you who aren't dead, we got some news for ya about that band...what's their name again...Kai Zers Symphony Orchestra? Err, something like that. Are you ready?
After a highly successful summer tour throughout Europe's various festivals and stages (which isn't over quite yet) and a Norwegian platinum record for the overall sold copies of Maskineri, the boys that look good in any color have announced a fall tour. This is not your average tour, however, not even on the Kaizers' high quality average scale! They have stated that the shows that are part of the "250 prosent" tour will be different from the regular shows, in that they are severely changing their setlists to perform songs they've either dropped a long time ago or never performed for some reason! This is going to be very exciting, if you ask any loyal Kaizerfan out there! Perhaps we're going to see setlists featuring "Maskineri" and "Dekk bord" or "9 mm" and "Drøm hardt (Requiem part I)"? Needless to say, (although I say it anyway) this adds a unique sense of mystery and unpredictability to the shows! Get your tickets now! And don't forget to check out the incomplete tour list, courtesy of our affiliate, Dr. Mowinckels akuttmottak.
As if that's not enough, the band has given word that they are planning to release a new live release, known as "250 prosent"! This collection of twelve songs recorded during the Maskineri Tour is due to be released exclusively as a vinyl LP and as a digital release. The twelve songs in question will be the best recordings of three songs from each of their four albums! This is gonna be great! More information can be found in *snort* Wikipedia's article on the release, and more will be added to this website as new information is released.
As one final note, Kaizers' performance at Øyafestivalen, Norway's biggest and most prestigious musical festival, was recorded by P3TV. You can check out the performance as a high resolution stream at this link. No surprises on the setlist, but an enjoyable recording nonetheless! Oh yeah, and did you buy the Cologne DVD already? In case you missed it, you can purchase this high quality recording here! I enjoyed it thoroughly!
No new information has been obtained about Skambankt or any of the side projects. Sorry kids!
Poll results - The fans have voted, and our favourite Kaizer music video is the award-winning "Evig pint", with 35 of the overall 116 votes! However, it was in close competition with the video for "Knekker deg til sist", which had 32 votes at the end of the poll. Third place goes to the "Maestro" video with 15. None of the other videos had particularly many votes. Don't forget to vote in our new poll, running for an indeterminable length of time!
Well, there wasn't really that much new information, but what we got should satisfy you for a while, you greedy lot. Bastard1 out!

(As there was not too much new information, I'm letting the old newspost from May stay. Just so you don't miss nothing, you know. It's not laziness, really.)
During their smash hit Maskineri Tour, Kaizers Orchestra struck a deal with a website known as FabChannel, that records and streams concerts from the live venues Paradiso and Melkweg in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and uploads them for free viewing on the web. Their concert at Paradiso on April 1st would be streamed live to the site and later be uploaded for a limited (although considerably long) time for free views on their site. Well, that DID happen, and you can now check out some visual, mind-blowing Kaizermagic at FabChannel right now, for free, at this link! Don't miss this chance to see Kaizers Orchestra in action! However, some of the songs from the live stream were edited out of the version of the show that have been uploaded, but luckily, your faithful webmaster was on the job and have gotten the audio versions of the missing songs (which are "Den andre er meg", "Mann mot mann" and "Min kvite russer") which you can find and listen to in the Audio & Video section of this site.
But that's not all folks! Their show at the live venue E-Werk in Cologne, Germany on April 5th has also been recorded, and will be released as a full-fledged DVD sometime during the middle of May. This is in high resolution DVD quality, and can be purchased for a very accomodating price on ConcertOnline.de. It can be purchased as a DVD download, an XviD .avi file download or as a physical DVD, delivered with box art and everything. I advise you get it. I also advise you preorder it now, as I did! If you type in the presale password kaizerslive2008, you can get a preview of the gig and a discount on your purchase! It's not an "official" Kaizers DVD as such though, and the disc itself will just look like any other burned DVD disc. But that shouldn't matter, remember, it's what's inside the disc that counts! Damn, that's good stuff!
In other news, Jon "Mr. Say No More" Sjøen, Kaizers Orchestra's former double bass player, from 2000 to 2004, has made his "return"! Øivind is expecting a child, and Kaizers asked Jon Kaizer to step in for him for a couple of shows. You may not remember it, but Jon is a highly educated double bass player who can even play it like any string instrument, and did so live for classics like "Fra sjåfør til passasjer" and "Drøm hardt (Requiem part I)". However, this does not mean that the band are switching setlists. He has played with them twice as of press time, and a few more shows featuring Jon on the bass are to follow.
Skambankt have finally made themselves known again. On their official website, they posted a news story in which they mention that they are writing new material for a new album, which could be released either later this year or in early 2009. In case you haven't checked out Terje Killmaster Kaizer's punk rock sideproject Skambankt, you can sample their considerable ownage skills on their MySpace.
You've all been worshipping a false Messiah! Geoff Berner, accordion poet laureate and possible third incarnation (the second being Bruce Campbell) of Jesus Christ, although his religion denies His existence, has just finished touring with Kaizers throughout Europe and is now poised to spread his word in the United Kingdom on his summer tour, as well as stopping by Norway. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it before, but Geoff also warmed up for Kaizers on the Paradiso show that was streamed live to FabChannel, and that warm-up show is also featured on the site. You can watch the video of the maestro's escapades in the City of "Green" at this link. Also, he's playing a new song called "Shut In", which is not only a song about the political and social value of getting drunk, but also a list of bars that he has drunken - some are dead and some are living, in his live he's loved them all. And you'd better believe it.
Poll results - BRAIN ANEURYSM! Just when you think last time's 115 vote record is incredible, this happens. An astounding 200 votes for their favourite song from the new album Maskineri. And the winner? The title cut, "Maskineri" with an awe-inspiring 36 votes (this used to be the TOTAL number of votes on any poll up until now). The runner up is the screwed-up carnival hit "Bastard sønn" with 32 votes. Third place is the beautiful Kaizer duet "Den andre er meg" with 27 votes. The rest, in order of votes received are;
"9 mm" (20 votes)
"Toxic blod" (19 votes)
"Romantisk salme i F-dur" (16 votes)
"Volvo i Mexico" (12 votes)
"Apokalyps meg" (9 votes)
"Kaizers 115. drøm" (7 votes)
"Enden av november" (7 votes)
"Med en gong eg når bånn" (5 votes)
"Du og meg Lou" (3 votes)
"Moment" (3 votes)
"Ond sirkel" (2 votes)
Thanks a hell of a lot for voting so much guys! I love you all. Also, I've updated the Audio & Video page with new live recordings. Few of the recordings that were here before are left, so feel free to check out the best of Kaizers' live bootlegs!
Well, that'd better be enough for you greedy chipmunks. Hope you've learned something to new today by reading this or something! Yep.
