(August 11, 2008) - After almost winning the feature last week during my first visit to Brownstown, I was able to pull off the sweep Saturday night barely holding of Tim Price in the Lucky 13.
Again I have to thank my dad for all of his help in setting the car up and keeping it in tip top shape so we can go and run good wherever we choose to race.
| (August 4, 2008) Well, we ventrued to Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night to see how we could run over there. After taking a few laps to figure the track out, I was able to finish 2nd in the heat race. During the feature, the track got very dry slick leaving one groove around the bottom. I raced the 7 truck of Jonathon Thomas for nearly the entire feature but was never able to get underneath him coming out of the corner so I settled for second and we'll try again next week. |

(July 20, 2008) What a hot night at the races, the track was dry and slick. While others seemed to have trouble hooking up to the track, the 81 Mustang hooked up pretty well and pulled off the sweep (heat and feature) again this week.
(July 11, 2008) Well, another night of racing is in the books. The track was in excellent for the entire night. After a little rubbing in the heat race, I finished 2nd which lined me up on the outside of the front row. As they say, the rest is history. I motored to another feature win. |

(June 30, 2008) The JW Motorsports team had another successful night of racing on Friday, June 27. After a 2nd place heat race, I took my time in the feature racing with a couple of other guys until the time was right to make the move and take the checkerd flag once again.
Thanks to K&S Racing Images for the wonderful photos.
(June 23, 2008) We had another exciting night of racing on Friday night. While leading the heat race, I got tangled with a lapped car and the second place car and was relegated to the tail. After a confusing restart, we finished the heat race in 5th place. We started 9th in the feature and after some close calls, a red flag, and some contraversy towards the end, we pulled off another win. I again have to thank my dad for all his hard work in helping make this possible.
(June 3, 2008) Well, we finally got another night of racing in the books. It was another pretty good night for the JW Motorsports team.
We were able to pull off the sweep this week with the heat and feature win.

(April 28, 2008) Well, the season started last Friday night at Thunder Valley Raceway. There was a chance of rain lingering in the air for most of the day but it turned out to be a beautiful night for racing. The Fleetwoods had the track in good condition.
I drew the pole for the second heat. Chevy Goodson drew the outside front row and won the heat. In the feature, I started fourth, and made a pass for the lead at around lap 13 and brought home the victory.
Join us this Friday night at Thunder Valley Raceway for another exciting night of racing. The Mini Sprints will be racing their special race along with a double feature for the Modifieds. The Bombers will return as well as the regular show including Mini Stocks, Pro Trucks, Pure Stocks, and Rookies. Racing Starts at 7PM.

WOW! What a season! I can't believe we won 9 features including 7 in a row.
I have to thank my dad for all his hard work. This would not have been possible without his support. He has helped me build a car that is not only reliable but fast as well. I know sometimes I ask myself why are we doing this or that, it's just a racecar. But when you can come out and win 7 features in a row, it all makes sense.
As the start of the season drew closer I realized my car was not going to be ready but I wanted to contend for the championshiop this year as we lost it last year by one position, that's one position throughout the whole season. I called on a friend of mine who happened to have a car but was no longer able to drive. He was happy to let me drive the car so we made a few changes and started the season in the 02 car owned by Paul Koch. I raced Paul's car for the first five races with some success never finishing worse than 4th including 2 feature wins. Finally, my car was ready to race at the July 6th race. However, something in the ignition was amiss and we settled for a 3rd place finish that night. The next race was even worse as the engine expired in the heat race and I had to search for a ride yet again. Thanks to Emil and Curt Bennett for allowing me to drive their car in the feature. Although it was a 12th place finish, I remained in the hunt for the championship. We built a new engine and had it ready for the August 3rd show. The car has performed flawlessly from that point racking up 7 feature wins in a row, clinching the 2007 Track Championship in the Mini Stock Division .
As my dad and I worked on the car over the winter for hours on end, I was wondering if it was worth it. Now I can say yes it was.
