ZENDORYU MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION
Grandmaster Paul Bowman is the founder of Zendoryu karate association and one that i am proud to be associated to,as it's one big family .From joining GM Paul Bowman's association in April 2005 i was quick to realise how much i didn't know, my learning has increased beyond anything i have done before .Iam thankful to my previous instructors that gave me a strong foundation in karate with the K.U.G.B AND E.S.K.A where i received 7th Dan tuition in both associations including about 11yrs competition,However like everyone else i was told to BLOCK strong,have a deep stance and a full twist punch and all the rest of it! Knowing what i know now i was given the watered down version or the children's version of karate,the scary thing is this is how karate is taught all over the world, or to put a finer point on it any martial art that is practiced and the instructor say's block and gives no other meaning!! Doesn't know the real meaning of their art or what they are doing, otherwise they would tell you... right???(this version is ok in a dojo or in competition as it works there, out in the street it's another matter,as there is no referee!! )However since i met GM Bowman i have never looked back, he has showed and explained to me the real meaning and understanding behind these movements, the keys which have helped me with my own research to unlock some of the deeper meanings held within the martial arts, which will enhance my self-development instead of being a robot of karate .So my thanks and respect goes to GM Paul Bowman teacher , friend and inspiration for all his help and guidance, if it wasn't for him i would not be where i am today with the knowledge and understanding of the martial arts.
