Graphics – 7.5

I played it on my brother-in law’s 50” 1080p Plasma and it looked good.  I wouldn’t say it was spectacular just average for what’s out there now.  The game is set in medieval times so most of the levels are dark, making it hard to see where you’re going.  Load times are a bit long, and I feel there are too many preset scenes that the developers make you sit through in order to understand the plot.  One cool variation from most RPG’s is that there is some interaction during the cut scenes.  You are able to change the camera view and turn your head to look around the room while it’s taking place.

Sound – 6.5

The only thing I can take from the sound is that it didn’t leave any impression.  I can’t remember a single sound affect, or any of the music that was played.  Unfortunately, this means it didn’t make much of an impression on me.

Playability – 7.0

The tutorial is pretty good and the controls make sense.  It was little on the long side, but by the time you actually play you know what you’re doing.  They also have some training areas during play so as new weapons become available you can learn how to use them.

Fun Factor – 6.5

I just can’t get into the fantasy RPG games.  It feels like you need to invest at least two hours a day into the game just to remember where you are on the map, and where you need to be.  I don’t know how to explain it.  I guess it’s kind of like a cross between Zelda, Metal Gear, and GTA.  You walk around this huge map doing little missions and advance throughout the game.  My biggest complaint, or the thing I liked the least, is that you are required to do a lot of sneaking around.  The game actually has a button that’s labeled “blend”.  When pressed, your character will fold his hands, bow his head and walk around like a monk.  It’s very slow going, and boring.  I also didn’t care for the navigation map, it’s not bad, I’ve just seen better.

Replay Value – 6.5

As I said earlier I didn’t get into it the game so I have no idea how long it would take to win.  I would imagine by the map sizes it might take quite awhile to complete, but that’s just a guess.  I did not see an on-line function, but it might have been there.  It’s up to you whether or not you want to run through the game a second time on a different difficulty level.

Bottom Line (an average) – 6.8

I did think that game had potential.  If you are into that type of game you might really like it.  Of the four missions I did complete, one of them was fun.  The environment is completely interactive and you can find some cool places to hide.  If you like these types of games I could see how somebody might really like it, however I did not.
