"Just Add String" Unique Handmade Lampwork Glass Beads |
About Me: HI! My name is Leda Cott, and in May, 2009, I will have been making lampwork beads for more than five years. I have been successfully selling my one-of-a-kind beads, bead sets, beaded knitting needles, and beaded knitting stitch markers and accessories, along with aromatherapy amphora vessels on e-Bay since October, 2004. Ever since I first melted a glass rod in a torch flame, I have been completely addicted to making lampworked glass beads! When I first began, I received all of my lampworking instruction from nationally known award-winning glass artist, Diane Flynn, who in turn was exclusively trained by Loren Stump, the "grandaddy of lampworking!" Now, Diane has "passed the torch" to me. Recently I have been lucky enough to have taken private classes with the following nationally-known gifted lampwork beadmaking artists: Jennifer Geldard (twice!), Karen Bye, Brad Pearson, Tink Martin, Kristen Frantzen-Orr, Heather Trimlett, Kim Fields, Jeri Warhaftig, Kristina Logan, Stephanie Sersich, Leah Fairbanks, Michael Barley (twice!), Dustin Tabor (twice!), and Sage Holland and her son Beau. I have learned many "tricks and tips" from these wonderful beadmaking mentors! Thank you to all of them for their knowledge and inspiration! I have been involved in the craft world in some way for more than 35 years, and have had my work featured in many national magazines. I have also sold my creations in craft malls, at trade shows, gift shops, and at prestigious art shows in the Dallas Metroplex area. I am a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB) and the Austin Fireflies group! In my "other life" I am a full-time college professor, and I teach courses in Education, Child Development, and Early Childhood Education at Collin College in North Texas. Please feel free to check out my e-Bay and Etsy auctions often!
