The Jury Family Adoption Page

Doing what it takes to bring our son home

Welcome

Thank you for visiting Frank and Kim Jury's adoption web site. We created this site to keep our friends and family up to date on the progress of our adoption. We have also included many things that can be helpful for people considering adoption. This adoption proved to be a lot more work and took a lot longer than we had expected. We never gave up though and continued along on our journey with hopeful anticipation. Every thing we went through was all worthwhile. We would go through it all again for our precious son.

WE DID EVERYTHING TO BRING OUR SON HOME!!!

Our Adoption Journey

OUR SON IS HOME!!!

We made the decision to adopt in February of 2006. Together we made the choice to adopt a boy under the age of two. We chose to adopt from Kazakhstan. This country has a good reputation for caring for their orphans. The orphanages there are reported as being very clean and comfortable for the children. Any child raised in an orphanage is expected to have developmental delays however. No matter how well the orphanage is kept or run. There is simply not enough one on one attention for the children to develop at the normal rate. So any child adopted from that situation is expected to have delays of some type.

We worked on this adoption for what seems like forever to us. It was a long, hard journey but we have made it through. We completed the necessary paperwork. Our dossier was completed and sent to Kazakhstan where it was approved. Once we were approved we were issued a Letter Of Invitation to go to Kazakhstan and get our son. Once we were there we had a bit more paperwork, plus court, plus the embassy interview and so much more. Most importantly we had a two week bonding period with our son in order to get to know him before we were allowed to adopt him.

We went through many things on this journey, some good, some bad, but we have never regretted the choice to do this. Each day that we spend with our son is proof enough that it was all worth it. The dream is a reality!
