Junko Mizuno Fan Site

Junko Mizuno

Welcome to my fan site of Junko Mizuno. There aren't many fan sites based on her work out there (I only found two on google) so I took it into my own hands to create a fan site so more people can get interested in her work. In my opinion she should be more well known than she is, because her work is amazing and completely orginal.

On this site will be doujinshi (fan manga using Junko Mizuno's characters) and stuff like bookmarks and things.

Her work has been described as a fractured, psychedelic take on fairy tales with enough black humor to make even Emily Strange feel out of sorts (San Fran. Bay  Guardian), her characters as Powerpuff Girls on acid (Viz Comics) and her style as visually arresting,
one marked by psychedelic hues that give
[her work] the feel of a swirling dark  dream... Mizuno's work possesses a postfeminist consciousness, and its psychedelic tone is enhanced by the artist's playful, "grotesque-cute" color illustrations. (powells.com).

Warning: There is some nudity/adult content on this site which some may find offensive.

If anyone wants to email me, please do. I'm more than happy to talk to other Mizuno fans out there. My email address is mysticflower@gmail.com

Junko Mizuno Shoes?

If there is anyone that can confirm that these shoes, from Irregular Choice, are designed by Junko Mizuno (and not someone imitating her style) and could email me at mysticflower@gmail.com, we would be very grateful!

As there is nothing mentioned about Irregular Choice on Mizuno's website, it may be possible that someone has 'ripped' her works...

On a lighter note, though, Junko has a new accessories and clothes brand called "Mizuno Garden", set to come to stores during the summer, so look out for those!

Junko Mizuno was just one of the many female artists who took part in The Pony Project. Her customised "my little pony" went for $5000!

Junko Mizuno Signing, London

I met Junko Mizuno last Thursday at a book signing in London. She is very petite and pretty. She was shy, but seemed like a nice person. Unfortunatly not many people turned up - I don't think the comic shop the signing was held at gave the event enough publicity. Still; I was first in line

This is what the comic shop looked like from outside.
Junko Mizuno herself.
