Welcome to our Twobbelix Pyramids League. We would like for you to have the best possible experience and most fun here. Below are some things that you will find helpful as a member of this league. Please bookmark the main league page http://www.myleague.com/junit/, because you will be using it often. Regular matches differ from Tourney matches, so please read all of the information.

Creating a New Account

1. Click on Free Signup: There will be four quick menus for you to fill out.
As a Twobbelix member you will receive some e-mails from the league newsletter.
2. Ladder Name & Password: Enter your ladder name and password. Your ladder name has to match your Yahoo! name.
3. Email Address: Enter your email address. Enter an e-mail address that is checked every day. This email will be how all players, Tournament Directors, or Admins will get in contact with you. As soon as you enter this info, an activation key will be emailed to this address. (e-mail accounts with msn, or hotmail do not receive there e-mails)
4. Activate Account: You will want to retrieve the 3-digit activation key that was emailed to you. This will activate your new account with this league. If you do not receive this activation key, don't panic. Just contact the Admins and tell them that you need your account activated. You are only allowed to have one account per person. All multiple accounts will be deleted in time.
5. LadderBux Bonus Chance: Ladderbux are like Frequent Flier Miles. With these unique points, you may buy a variety of things without any real money! You will win bux for finishing well or winning tourneys and on the first loss reported each day. You will want to get as many bonus ladderbux upon joining some tourneys do have have an entry fee.
6. After you have finished signing up, come back to the game room (JUNIT) and tell the room you have joined and would like to play your first match.

MATCHES

1. Matches and Tourneys are played in Yahoo Pyramids room....Junit.
2. In the game chat room, you will ask if anybody would like to play a match.
3. Either you or the other person will call the match, this will determine how many games (3,5, or 7) are to be played and who goes first ("u"=you or "m"=me).
4. You both will take turns playing and watching, one plays and then the other plays until all games have been played.
5. To watch a game find the persons name on the list on the right side of the game room, double click on their name, a box will appear, click on watch and you will be watching their game. Please say "in" in the chat so that the other person knows you are ready.
6. After you play your game you report your score in chat in the room. Write the score down on paper and then the other person will say gi (got it) or vn (very nice) letting you know they got the score. The person watching then clicks "start" on the left side of screen to go to their own room.
7. Do not click on anything in your room after you have played your game until your opponent has let you know they got your score and have left your room, they also will say "gi" or "vn".
8. Do not start your game until you see a blue post stating that your opponent is now watching you and they say "in". When entering your opponents room let them know you are there by saying "in".
9. After the number of games have been played you both will total the scores up. The one with the highest total is the winner.
10. It is the loser's responsibility to report the losses of these matches. Before beginning another match. If you lose a non-tourney match, click on the
Report Loss selection on the main page. You will insert your ladder name and password as well as the opponent that defeated you.
Come back to the room and let your opponent know you have reported the loss by saying (reported).

TOURNAMENTS

1. We would like you to play at least one league match before joining a tourney
but not necessary, Some tourneys can take along time if teaching while playing.
2. Tourneys will be advertised in the chat room, and on the league YAHOO messenger or you may go to the tourney calendar thru main page to see any upcoming tourneys.
3. You can join a tourney two ways. One is the tourney jump # which you can get from the TD (tourney director) in the game room, or by the tourney calendar. Both you can do in the Tournament section, on the main league page, left hand side.
4. To use the jump #: put the number in the tourney jump box (little white box in the left column of the main league page), click your enter key.
5. To use the tourney calendar: find the tourney u would like to play in and click on the name of the TD running that tourney.

Tourney Pages
6. Click on register, put in your name, password, (please read the tourney rules), check the rules box and click on register. On the next page click on teams. Keep this page open until the TD says "standings (pairings) are up". Then click on teams/check in, then click on standings.
7. You will then see your name in brackets, person on top goes first, unless TD tells you different.
8. All tourney matches are played the same as regular matches, unless it is a special tourney. Please read the rules for each tourney. The TD will announce how many games you are to play.
9. Both players report in the room in caps.. ex: WOLF DEFEATS ROX. DO NOT report a tourney loss to the main page or the tourney page. The TD will report tourney match results.
10. If you win, go back to the standings page, click on standings and you will see who you play next.
11. If while playing in a tourney you get booted or walk away you have 10 minutes to return. If your opponent gets booted let the TD know right away, ex: WOLF IS MISSING.
12. If the player on the timer does not make it back in the alotted 10 minutes, he/she will be automatically disqualified.
14. Each player is allowed 2 instances of being booted per match. Upon 3rd instance the match is reported as a loss for that player.
15. Restart, if booted.....NO redo's or subs.
16. Poor sportsmanship or foul language will result in automatic disqualification.
17. Playing on an id other than your own will result in disqualification.
18. Use of the PYRAMID CHEAT BUDDY is cause for being DISQUALIFIED and possible expulsion from the league !!!
19. No person playing in the tourney may play a league match, unless they have been eliminated from the tourney.
20. Please read the tourney rules for each tourney, as they may be different. To find the rules, click on "Rules" on the main page of the tourney.
21. The above guidelines are the basics, so if you have any questions please ask.

Tourney Types
There are 4 main types of tourneys that we have:
Single Elimination: One loss and you are eliminated from the tourney.
Double Elimination: In this type of tournament, you have to lose two matches before you are eliminated. After you lose your first match, your team then moves into the lower (loser's) bracket. You continue playing matches in that lower bracket until you get your second loss, which means you are out of the tournament. However, if you win all the matches in the lower bracket, you then play the winner of the top (winner's) bracket. Since the winner of the top bracket has not yet lost, the winner of the loser's bracket must beat the winner of the winner's bracket twice in order to win the tournament. The winner of the winner's bracket only needs to win one of the two matches to win the tournament. If the winner of the winner's bracket wins the first game then there is no second game.
Swiss Format: In this type of tournament, every player plays in every round regardless of their match results. (A player may withdraw from the tournament after any round if they no longer wish to compete.) Each win counts as one(1) point, and each loss counts as zero(0) points.
Regular Swiss: The tournament is finished as soon as there is only one player remaining who is undefeated. (The number of rounds is set before the tournament in order to specify a maximum number of players. If the tournament is set for six(6) rounds, this does not guarentee that there will be six rounds of play since players withdrawing from the tournament may shorten the rounds required to reach an undefeated player. If for some reason after the given number of rounds has been played and there is still more than one undefeated player, the tournament will be extended in order to determine a winner.)
True Swiss: In True Swiss, the number of rounds is preset by the TD before the tournament starts and regardless of the number of registrations, the number of rounds does not change once the tournament begins. (The TD can manually change the number of rounds prior to the tournament.) After all the rounds are complete, the player with the most points wins. If there is no conclusive point leader, there is no winner of the tournament. However, as an example of a true swiss system, suppose there is an undefeated player after 5 rounds of play, and the tournament is set for 8 rounds of play, the tournament does not stop, giving those players who have already a lost a chance to win the tournament. NOTE: "Some" TD's will have a playoff of the players tied after the tourney is closed, in order to somewhat determine a winner of the tourney.
