The Junior Cue Sports League was set up in 2005 to provide top quality match practice for the juniors of the Coaching scheme, which will benefit them when they travel away to play in other local and National events.
From the Summer 2006 league however, entry to the league was not restricted to players from the Coaching Academy, and all juniors in the Hartlepool area have been allowed to enter, therefore meaning an extra two divisions were needed to be formed.
We are grateful to Tony Young at Blindcraft, who has once again offered his sponsorship to the league, meaning a generous amount of prize money is at stake to the winners.
Each player competes against the other seven players at both snooker, and billiards. At Snooker, they will play best of five frames, and at Billiards, they play first to 120. Points are scored as follows:
Snooker – 5 points for 3-0 win, 4 points for 3-1 win, 3 points for 3-2 win, 2 points for 2-3 loss, 1 point for 1-3 loss, 0 points for 0-3 loss
Billiards – 5 points for win by more than 80 points, 4 points for win by more than 40 points, 3 points for win by less than 40 points; 2 points if score more than 80 but still lose, 1 point if score more than 40 points but still lose, 0 points if score less than 40 points.
At the end of the season, the bottom two players will be relegated to the First Division.
