My Cakes Serving Guidelines

I'm often ask about the serving on each cake per size.  Coming from a Puertorrican background and been in many family gatherings, birthdays and weddings, a good size serving portion of cake is a must... (not too big... not too small) specially if it's good!  Ahh! not to forget... have a second, maybe a third, serving.

I have followed this guidelines for the past four years.  It doesn't matter if it is a party or a wedding.  Typically the wedding portion is smaller than a party portion.

A good serving size per person is about 1 1/2 x 2 in. or 2 x 2 in. slice.  (My Puertorrican serving slice, ok!)  If you want to go smaller... is around 1 x 1 in. the serving size.

The following table will show you two different serving size portions per person.  The smaller number will be a cake that will be cut about 1 1/2 x 2 in. or 2 x 2 in. portions per person.  The larger serving number will be for a cake that will be cut around 1 x 1 in. serving portions per person.

Don't know how to store your anniversary cake?...  Let me tell you how.

Your first anniversary cake will taste good if you follow these instructions.  Remove the cake from the separator plate, if any.  Place the cake in a appropriate size box and wrap the entire box with several layers of plastic wrap and aluminum foil and place it in the freezer.  When you are ready to eat your anniversary cake, remove the box from the freezer and let the cake thaw with the aluminum and plastic still covering the box.  Do not unwrap/open it until it is completely thawed.  Then unwrap, remove the cake from the box and enjoy!
