My name is Julie Gratton but most of you know me as JulieArts P~Nuts or Julieartdolls sold on ebay! I have been and artist since I can remember. I was born to create and it is my FAVORITE thing in the world to do. I have two children both of whom were born with rare Syndromes. My oldest child was born with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome and my youngest child was born Deaf from a rare Syndrome called Goldenhar’s Syndrome. It was life changing for my husband and me. I was half way through my Art College career and striving to learn how to deal with a child with medical difficulties, when my second child was born. After I discovered my second child was born Deaf I switched my major to Deaf Studies. But I never lost the love for Art. Since I am an at home mom (chasing my kids…LOL) I decided to get back into the field. I started painting Folk Art Paintings and Murals and sold many of those but I wanted to try other things as well….to challenge myself. I have always had a love for babies and have even taken on the challenge of specialized foster care which is usually drug addicted or neglected babies. Sometimes they would come home to us right out of the hospital after their birth and detox period. For anyone one who has taken on this challenge you know how difficult and yet rewarding it can be. But we figured…Why not! I can help other children while I am also helping my own! During this time is when I discovered clay babies on ebay and I just fell in love! I have been sculpting for 4 years now and I Just LOVE doing it! Took me a while to get them not to look like little aliens but I feel I have come a long way. I am very particular about details and I love to make sure every little detail can look as real as I can get them to look. I try to use the best materials I can find. Some of these little people are sooooo hard to part with but sharing my art with others is a great joy. I really feel this is my path in life and I love to share my Art! What good is a talent if you don’t share it, Right? My husband (who also loves babies) says the ones that I create are the best kind because they are really cute to look at but they don’t cry, poop, or keep you up all night!!! I can honestly say I put a lot of love, care, and my heart into my Art and I always will. I am still learning and will always strive to become a better Artist because after all….
WE CANNOT TOUCH ANOTHER PERSON’S HEART WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN OUR OWN!!
