Review of: Jewels Treasured By His Family
By Julia Johnson ISBN: 1-4241-7904-1
I found Jewels Treasured By Her Family
a very heartwarming and moving story.
I enjoyed watching the main character and her twin
brother grow up to realize the enormity of things they
can’t control. Growing up. Then, the shock of
learning why they have always been different than most
twins.
I enjoyed the Indian ceremony for the chief’s son.
And also the fact so many ethnic backgrounds could
live in harmony.
I liked the mystery of what happened to Jewels and how
it kept me wondering. The vision of her standing
dressed as an adult at the end was very well done.
The ending wrapped everything up nice, and the warmth
and understanding of the family was strong and
special.

With traditional values, “Jewels Treasured By Her Family” is a touching story of a large family’s troubles, successes, challenges, love, and commitment to one another. Narrated by the youngest daughter, Beth tells the story of their lives on the family ranch, and her mentally challenged older ‘sister,’ Jewels, who despite her infliction, always manages to find the good in life.
This is a heartwarming, easy flowing, Family Drama, written in a ‘Little house’ style, bounded by happy endings. Reader’s who like to step away from the ‘real troubled ways’ of family life, would appreciate this read, where the family members resplendently get along.
