Welcome to LadySong Farm, where music, farming and family are the priorities!
We are located in Steamburg, New York, about half-way between Jamestown (the hometown of Lucille Ball) and Salamanca, the only city in the United States that exists entirely on a reservation for Native American Indians (in this case, the Senecas, one of the Five Nations indigenous to New York State). In addition to moderately priced but high quality alpaca livestock, we sell alpaca fleece and yarn.
Our alpaca breeding program focuses on breeding robust, well-conformed "North American" alpacas. We have taken advantage of the best qualities of alpacas from
For our and your protection, our herd is an accredited TB-free herd, and each alpaca has tested BVD-negative as well.
We offer friendly, thoughtful and professional service, customized for each client's needs, with high ethical standards, full disclosure on each sale animal and better-than-industry-standard guarantees. Our unlimited free rebreedings program helps to keep our herd sires busy and happy, and helps ensure a stable environment for our sold females.
This spring, we will be adding several registered white and colored Angora goats to our fiber-production livestock, as well as a few more Muscovy ducks for fly control. Also watch for information about our beautiful new Sebastapol geese, who will be arriving within a few weeks.
Situate as we are in a highly trafficked tourist region, we have begun development of a lavender labrynth for the enjoyment of farm visitors; I'll be providing photos and details as that attraction nears opening.
My musical focus at the moment is on Sweet Adelines International barbershop, where I'm a member of the Chautauqua Shores Chapter chorus, located in Jamestown, New York. I'm searching for a madrigal group as well, since I truly enjoy the acapella experience. I have years of experience in choral music with church choirs, having sung and directed (albeit in a VERY amateur fashion!) choirs in a number of congregations. I also enjoyed performing with the Buffalo Schola Cantorum in my youth, and playing in the bell choirs of two congregations.
As to family, I have a fantastic daughter and three wonderful grandsons -- 15, 5 and 4 -- whom I adore. The boys love to visit the farm and enjoy playing with the alpacas and guinea fowl (Anthony, the eldest, is skeptical about the Muscovy duck -- "Duck" -- who is apparently just as skeptical of Anthony, and protects the hens from what he perceives as a strange male!). Together, we enjoy attending alpaca shows and (I suspect) will also be participating in goat shows in the near future.
