One of Cheltenham and Gloucestershire's foremost chamber choirs
Jubilate draws its members from Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Cotswolds. The Conductor and Artistic Director is Ian Higginson and the choir rehearses at Francis Close Hall, University of Gloucestershire, Swindon Road, Cheltenham on Monday evenings from 7.30 - 9.30pm
Experienced singers, particularly those with good sight-reading ability, are always welcome. The choir's repertoire encompasses sacred and secular music from the 16th century to the present day. Jubilate has sung in many of the country's cathedrals and abbeys, including St. Paul's Cathedral, London, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, St. Giles, Edinburgh, Bath Abbey, Westminster Abbey and Hereford Cathedral.
It has enjoyed highly successful tours to Scotland, Holland, Belgium, Liverpool, Chester and in August 2007 to Paris where the choir gave a Recital in Eglise Saint-Séverin and sang Mass in Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris.
In January 2008 the choir recorded Christmas music in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral - the organist was Richard Lea. The CD Nowell, Nowell! is now available from choir members.

Jubilate Chamber Choir April 2008 at St. Paul's Cathedral, London
'Here is a choir that quite obviously enjoy singing together. They perform with passion and panache; with sensitivity and sparkle, engaging their audience in every note, leaving them wanting more and more'.
Stuart Muir, Director of Music, St. Paul's Cathedral, Dundee
'I very much enjoyed the opportunity of working with the Jubilate Chamber Choir and found them to be a quality ensemble in good heart, taking on challenging repertoire with panache and precision. I look forward to hearing them again very soon'.
Mark Lee, Director of Music, Bristol Cathedral
'It gives me real pleasure to add the Jubilate Chamber Choir to my list of patronages. Ian Higginson is one of my esteemed students from my early days and I have been delighted to watch his ascent in the profession.
Your home is rich in music and music making and has inspired so many of the giants in British music and choral music in particular. I wish you all success in your music and the enjoyment which inevitably goes hand in hand with such a venture'.
