19th Nov 06 Broadway FC 1 - 3 AFC Streets of Leeds
Hastings

Despite starting better than normal, the Broadway continued their poor league form and slumped to another defeat.

Regular first teamers Dyson and Hazelgrave were missing so Priestley was moved up front and Bertucci came in on the right wing.

The Broadway were playing some good football down the hill and soon had the lead as Lawtons long throw was flicked on by Priestley and Hastings stabbed the ball in from six yards.

The Broadway should have doubled their lead when a long punt at goal from Longley was fumbled by the Streets keeper straight to Priestley but the stand in striker missed the target with an open goal.

Streets got an equaliser after some slack defending from the Broadway as their striker went through after a long through ball and shot powerfully past Speight into the corner.

The Broadway almost regained the lead after Speights long punt found Hastings who turned and shot from distance but the ball clipped the post.

Half Time 1-1

The second half belonged to Streets as they continued to push forward. Speight tipped two long range efforts onto the bar but was finally beaten as he brought down the striker when through on goal. The penalty was put away to the left side.

The Broadway pushed forward in vain and the Streets sealed their win with another easy goal for their striker after too much time in the box.

Longley picked up his first MOM, probably ever, after a decent display and Priestley picked up TOTW after his crucial miss.

MOM - Longley

TOTW - Priestley
